This Study guide is a great companion to the book that came out with it. It goes into further detail about there are miracles in the smallest of details. Tbh it gives the phrase Have an Attitude of Gratitude a whole new meaning.
For those of you who read my review of A Million Little Miracles, you are aware of my giving it five stars. I found the accompanying Study Guide underwhelming, with the exception of the Study God's Word sections. I did appreciate how they tied important concepts back to Scripture. The questions generally didn't cause me to wrestle with anything, only to briefly give the subject more thought time. Possibly, if used in a small group rather than independently, discussion with others would create the need to go deeper.
While some may find this additional content quite valuable, it certainly isn't essential in order to get great benefit from reading the main text. I purchased four copies of the main text to give as gifts. I did not purchase additional study guides. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of A Million Little Miracles Study Guide from Multnomah via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.
A Million Little Miracles Study Guide is meant to accompany Mark Batterson's book A Million Little Miracles: Rediscover the God Who is Bigger Than Big, Closer Than Close, and Gooder Than Good. It is recommended to read a chapter in the book and then the matching chapter in the study guide. The study guide provides a deeper dive into and reinforcement of the material giving readers a chance to realize the impact on their personal lives. Reading the study guide would have the same impact if read as a stand-alone.
This is a thought provoking, interesting, and encouraging read.
Well done and recommended.
My thanks to Multnomah for permitting me to access a DRC of this book via NetGalley. Publication will be 11/19/24. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given.
I enjoyed reading “A Million Little Miracles” and I was excited to take a look at the study guide as well. It is set up so that you read the chapter from the book, then take on the corresponding chapter from the study guide. Each chapter has you look at a miracle of God that is in our life. Then, they have you dig deeper into the theme of the chapter. A scripture study connected to the topic and an application of principles follow. There’s also an entire section for a group leader to use if implementing this study with others. Great resource!
A Million Little Miracles takes a modern approach to an ages long question about everything we believe. I appreciate the slow paced stories and the directness of their application of principles. I had a lot of aha moments while engaging in the process of writing down my responses to the topic of my favorite chapters. There’s much to benefit from this approach of teaching as it is useful in its simplicity and practicality. I plan on purchasing a copy for myself as soon as it’s available.
