This is a really cool anthology of poetry. I like that you get to see lots of different poets in one place. I couldn’t really see the connection to Swift’s songs, so maybe I’m not enough of a swifty, but I enjoyed it.

Swifities and Poetry lovers rejoice! This is your perfect worlds colliding. Daugherty has curated a collection that is never boring and always refreshing. She has invited some of the most lauded poets of our generation to become inspired by Taylor Swift. Swift fans should note that this might not have many Swift reference or songs, but you will come away with a few new writers that you will follow.

This book was such a delight - the Taylor Swift analogies, the writing style of the poems felt like they truly were written for each specific Era and were a delight to read. Such a wonderful homage to Taylor!

Thanks to NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review!

Like many millennial women, I am a Swiftie and know all the words to every song she’s ever written. I think what’s beautiful about the Taylor Swift community is that the fandom can use Taylor Swift’s work of art as a way to build their own art. That’s encouraged and that’s beautiful. Invisible strings is a series of poems based on Taylor Swift songs and filled with truly lovely poems.

I’m not usually a poetry reader, but I’ve always loved and marveled at Taylor Swift’s lyrical prowess, so I knew poems responding to her songs would be something I’d absolutely have to check out. Reader - this book did not disappoint.

INVISIBLE STRINGS is a beautiful anthology of poems inspired by, and in conversation with, Taylor Swift's own gorgeous lyrics. Thought-provoking and overflowing with a range of emotions, I highly recommend this collection to fans of Taylor, but also to those who simply love poetry. Additionally, if you’re someone who appreciates a good puzzle, I think you’ll enjoy trying to match each poem with its song!

Thank you to Random House, Ballantine Books, and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

As a Swiftie, I was so excited to start this one! I really like the idea that each poem responds to a specific Taylor song. It is a fun challenge to figure out which song goes with each poem as you read through them. Some of the poems weren't quite my style but I can still appreciate the artistry and thoughtfulness of them. Overall this is a great collection of poems that any swiftie will enjoy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC!

DNF 32 % I have never really sat down and read a book of poetry before but don’t think it’s for me. I thought with this being tied to Taylor swift songs this would be a great entry point for me but I just found myself confused and I kept trying to figure out what song went with which poem but really was not sure. I wish it had with the title what song it was tied to or at least a cheat sheet at the end since I feel like I may have better understood the poems. Please take my review as my personal opinion as I have no knowledge about poetry and this was completely rated on personal enjoyment. I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this book for an honest review.

I don’t typically read poems, but I had to read this arc. I’m not a Swiftie, but I find her writing very poetic. I wanted to see what poems people submitted. There was a lot of great collections! I found this really intriguing. I would recommend!

**Review of *Invisible Strings***

*Invisible Strings* is an absolute gem! Each poem feels like it’s crafted with the same emotional depth and storytelling magic as a Taylor Swift album. I had so much fun trying to match each poem with the eras it drew inspiration from, from the bold, fearless energy to the quiet, reflective folklore vibes. Every page is brimming with raw, lyrical emotion that feels both personal and universally relatable.

The writers in this collection are incredibly talented, and their words strike with such vulnerability. It’s as though you’re reading intimate pieces of their hearts. Every poem made me pause and reflect on my own life, capturing a perfect balance of complexity and inspiration.

For any Swiftie, this collection is a poetic tribute to Taylor Swift's artistry—if you're a fan of her music, you’ll feel right at home in these pages!

A must-read for anyone who loves lyrical, heartfelt poetry that truly resonates. ✨

Invisible Strings is a beautiful anthology that is carefully curated to share diverse perspectives of a blockbuster lineup of poetic Swifties. Beautiful reactions to Swifts lyrics are recorded and many whimsical and philosophical new quotes can be found within the pages.

I fully expected to love this, and I absolutely did. The poets were incredibly talented and guessing which poem was from what era/song felt sort of reminiscent of her old easter eggs, writing down the capital letters in her lyric booklets to find her hidden meanings. I wish there had been a bit of a reference to confirm, but I really enjoyed this.

I am not a Swiftie, but I really appreciate her writing talents. This book features poems whose authors were inspired by Taylor Swift, her songs, and lyrics. It was awesome to read these poems, some short, some long, and try to figure out what songs/lyrics inspired them.

The foreword really grabs you. It does make sense to consider Taylor a poet. She really does have a way with words.

Highly recommend this if you like her music.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Ballantine for this ARC. This review is my own opinion.

The foreword of this immediately grabbed me. As someone who studied poetry in uni and a Swiftie, I found the literary analysis in the foreword so interesting and a great intro to this collection. I loved how much variety there was in having so many poets contribute. I particularly loved how this collection was in response to/in conversation with TTPD. In true Swiftie fashion, the poems were full of Easter and egg allusions to songs, which made them extra fun to read.

An anthology created by 113 poets who contributed new work inspired by Taylor Swift’s music. 🎼

Sadly, this collection didn’t resonate with me. 😕 I loved the forward where the technical argument was made that Swift can be classified as a poet, but the collection of work itself just wasn’t for me. For many of the poems I didn’t see the connection or feel the inspiration to Taylor’s music and would have loved a brief explanation from each author to help connect those dots. I loved the concept and appreciate the artistry, but none of the poems really spoke to me. I don’t consider myself a huge Swiftie, so it’s possible that those that do might appreciate the collection more. 🫶🏻

My thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for a complimentary advance copy of this eBook, out 12/3/2024.

I love this idea for a collection of poetry inspired by Taylor Swift songs. I had a marvelous time reading through the poems and guessing at which lyrics and songs inspired them.

"Take me to the lakes where all the poets want to die"

I don't belong, no seriously. The vibes were great but I think I'm just way too dumb to understand it. I need my AP English teacher to hold my hand and guide me through this. Shout out to Mrs.Scholten to try to get me to understand poetry but it didn't happen in senior year, it didn't happen now.

I'm just glad I could kind of tell which poems were fountain pen and which ones were glitter.

Some of the poems were better if you read them backwards (possible Easter egg moment idk) If there is a poem in here announcing Rep or Debut, I didn't catch it lol

I applaud the poets (tortured and not) who listen to Taylor Swift and then create a bomb ass poem. That ain't me. I listen to Taylor Swift and want to cry in my shower with a glass of wine. Especially now with the post concert depression.

Anyways...if you love Taylor Swift and/or you love poetry, this book would be great for you.

Long Live.
