Another Girl Lost focuses around Scarlett a survivor of serial rapist and murderer Tanner Reed. The story starts with Scarlett in police custody being accused of multiple murders. Do I have your attention? Obviously, right from the start I was totally gripped to this story.

This is told in a dual timeline between Scarletts entrapment and in the present, years after. I loved Burton made a lot of the reliable but at the same time unreliable. I know that hardly makes any sense but there were numerous times throughout this story that I didn’t trust each of our main characters.

This was a pretty steady novel until about the halfway point when I feel like it fizzled out a bit. There was some romance, which did make sense for the story line, and then a ton of repetition. I felt like the ending was a tad bit rushed, but I really did enjoy where Burton went with this one.

I listened to this one via audiobook and Jesse Vilinsky and David de Vries were great in their roles as Scarlett and Detective Dawson. They complimented each other great. Easy to follow along. Highly recommend the audio.

Overall, this was a solid read for me. I enjoyed it, just wish there was less repetition. I think psychological thriller lovers will enjoy this one. This was an OK read. Mary's past few books have been much different from her previous novels. I feel like I might be in the minority but I don't think these recent books are as good as they used to be. The premise of this story was intriguing, enough to make me request the book. I feel the pacing was quite slow for a thriller and the ending fell flat for me. Leaving the Della issue unresolved just left me feeling ambivalent about this book. I won't stop reading Mary but may wait until reviews come in before I request them.

However, half way through, the pace slowed with sexy time and a lot of repetition. I’d have suggested a good edit of at least 50 pages… we know Scarlett’s obsessed and damaged, but we don’t need to be reminded on every page

I would suggest that there isn’t much of a twist to this booked but more of a reveal that I didn’t guess, but wasn’t surprised at

I think the best thing about this book was the very end. I really respect the author for making the decision that she did and it definitely left me feeling thrilled

oh man... this is dark, twisty, and I don't know that I'm fully satisfied by the ending 😆 I feel like this is a great book for those that like crime thrillers and Karin Slaughter!

Another Lost Girl is a riveting, captivating, addictive roller coaster ride of a book. Fans of unreliable damaged narrators will devour this book. The beginning has a slower start, but I promise you, stick to it and you won't be disappointed. Once things start to pick up, the suspense just keeps building and never lets up until the end. The past and present chapter worked for me because I got to dig deeper into the characters and what happened to them!

I have never been steered in so many different directions. I thought I had some stuff figured out, but no, Burton truly spun me around, smacked me in the face and left me with my jaw on the floor more than once. This is definitely a disturbing, evil, conniving, manipulative, twisty and dark thriller, but it was done so well! The plot and the execution were flawless.

There are so many clues scattered around the book, so much suspense to keep you turning those pages and binge this book in one sitting. The ending left me 🤯!

🎧 The narration by Jesse Vilinsky & David De Vries was so good. Jesse absolutely knocked it out of the park. The emotion she put in her performance. I could feel the fear, the tears, every emotion was felt through her voice and it truly made for an amazing listen. David was also very good at portraying the emotions and bringing Dawson to life. Highly recommend this audio!
