Lilas life is a bit hectic after her husband cheats on her and leaves with his new family. Oh and she cant find the right tone for her next book. With her stepdad living with them and helping with the girls, Lila is shocked when her father shows up on her porch asking to stay. None of them want him there, but sometimes family is worth forgiving.

Jojo Moyes is the absolute best and this book just added to her amazing list of titles! I loved each of the characters so much, and was equally drawn to their chapters. I loved Lila and her adventures as she tried to get back out as well as find a new idea for her next book. This is a book that I feel will stick with me for a while!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this read. All opinions are my own.
I love Jojo Moyes, but sometimes her books give me anxiety. This was no exception! All of the characters had something going on that was a little bit of a disaster - a relationship, school drama, plumbing, no housing...it was a lot to deal with. I enjoyed the story and found the ending satisfying, but this was a book I found myself taking little breaks from.

This was an easy and heartfelt read about a divorced mother who unexpectedly had her father re-enter her life while dealing with family issues. I love a good character-driven story, and Jodi Picoult delivered! Every character was well-developed and demonstrated growth throughout the book, and I found myself having a soft spot for all of them. I loved the message that not all families are defined by blood, and that blended families can thrive as well.

I am a long time reader of Jojo Moyes and I was looking forward to her new book!

Lila is in her early 40s and has watched her marriage fall apart, leaving with her two girls to raise, a failing house and a book that needs to be written. Added to this is the death of her mother and the fallout of her stepfather moving in. Her ex is playing family with his new girlfriend and it is revealed that they are expecting a new baby. Lila is struggling with a lot and her new book is not writing itself. She hits upon an idea, gets involved with two different men, and then is forced to re-consider her choices.

I really enjoyed this novel - there were times when I could have sworn I was reading a Sophie Kinsella novel. It was light hearted but with enough soul to make you cheer for all the characters in the end.

We All Live Here is about a dysfunctional family that has been destroyed by recent family events and they are all struggling to find their way back to a more even keel and happy life they once knew.

Our main protagonist, Lila Kennedy, two weeks after her published novel about “how to repair a marriage that has gone stale” is release, her husband Dan walks out on the family and run off with new younger school mom whom Lila has just discovered is pregnant. Needless to say, Lila is angry and to add insult to the fire, Dan is cutting back on child support so her finances are not looking great, her romance is in the toilet and the house is falling apart.

Lila’s two daughters, Celie and Violet are struggling as well. Sixteen year old Celie is dealing with teenage issues and kind of being bullied and ignored in school. Eight year old Violet knows way too many unsuitable rap songs and many different ways to describe genitalia. There is Bill, Lila’s stepdad that kind of has moved in with them since his wife, Lila’s mom has passed away. Bill loves a very orderly clean house which in this house is a little chaotic. The Kennedy house has a dog name Truant, he has his own issues – he likes to bark and bite people.

Life is about to get even more complicated and messier when that knock on the door lets a whole big heap of trouble, Lila’s estranged father, Gene, of thirty years.

Jojo Moyes writes this well-crafted story about a blended family that was touching, emotional, frustrating and filled with sweet and funny moments.

Lila’s world continues to turned upside down and inside out. Her husband left her for a younger woman, her mother died, her stepfather moved in to help with her girls, and now her biological dad has shown up with nowhere else to live. In the midst of this Lila tries to figure out if she can put herself back out there and possibly find love again.

This is cute and quirky. It’s not a fast paced, suck you in kind of story. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it, even when I was halfway done. However, the characters are engaging, the writing is solid and I ended up really enjoying it!

We All Live Here is the first book by JoJo Moyes I have read. I have heard a lot about this author and was glad I got a chance to read one.
I read it and it took me a while to get vested in the book. I enjoyed the story of how it weaves the family dynamics into a story that will stay with me for some time after reading the book.
Thank you NetGalley, JoJo Moyes and Penguin Group for the ARC of We All Live Here.
This is personal honest opinion.

Slow to start, yet eventually a nice blended family tale. For the most part, Lila is an interesting and complex central character experiencing a midlife journey of self-discovery amidst a sea of personal and professional drama. At the beginning it felt like there was too much going on, especially once Gene entered the picture, but it settled into a nice albeit slower-paced groove. While the romantic storylines were fine, Moyes could have easily eliminated one of Lila's options since it was clear from the start which of these men was the better option and the other existed so separate from everything else, plus there were plenty of obstacles to their relationship that a third party was unncessary. I also found it an odd choice to include only a handful of chapters from Celie's point of view as well as a late one from yet another character; although Celie's perspective helps several of the threads come together in the end, I wanted to understand her better and these brief glimpses into her head weren't enough. Even though this ended up being pretty good, it definitely has some kinks that could have been ironed out and doesn't quite measure up to Moyes' best work.

I was really looking forward to “We All Live Here” by Jojo Moyes as I have previously enjoyed several of her books. For some reason I couldn’t get into it and put it down at 15%. I didn’t relate to the characters and felt the plot was moving too slow. I’m sure I’m in the minority here and I hope others enjoy it!

4.5 stars! Jojo Moyes is one of my favorite authors, and this book was a good one. I was completely drawn into the story and I stayed up until 2 am because I couldn't put it down. This is very much a character driven novel, and I loved how my feelings changed for each one as the story progressed. The main character is dealing with some very hard things, but you laugh a lot throughout the story. Actually you go through all the feels! Lots of laughter, some sadness, some outrage, and some heartwarming feels, as the people in her life show up to support her, and you fall in love with her family and friends. At the end of the book I felt happy, and I loved the bit of romance too.

I loved the tone of this book. Lila has a lot going on in in her life. Her husband has left her for a younger woman, and Lila sees her every day as she pikes up her own daughter from school. Her mother died in an unforeseen tragedy and her step-father is living with she and her girls as they all try to piece their lives back together. Enter her estranged birth-father, the pregnancy of her husbands mistress, and Lila's own inability to overcome her writers block. It's a sad sweet blending of the lives of all the people in Lila's life, and she tells their stories as they wind in and out of her own. It's the story of every day living, finding our way back to ourselves when we are left holding the pieces of our shattered lives.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this quirky, fun, sad, sweet story.

This book was very character driven in a slice of life way. The pacing was slow, but the laughter and tears were definitely there.

I love Jojo Moyes' books, and this one was no different. It was a character-driven story about Lila and her family, and all of their messy, complicated relationships with each other. I really enjoyed learning about each character and really felt like they were well-drawn characters. I cared what happened to them, and recommend the book to those who like family drama and well established characters.

Thank you to netgalley for the e-book arc of We All Live Here by Jojo Moyes. I was a huge fan of her books a few years back and felt so blessed to have had the opportunity to read and review another book by her.

This book was a bit slow for me to get into. If you love a messy divorce story where the man gets another woman pregnant shortly after leaving her, this book might be right up your ally.

I thought that the characters in this book were quirky. You got to see a newly single mom try to figure out life with her two daughters, step father and biological father. The amount of chaos was unmatched and so fun to read. I loved the banter. Gene was the perfect comedy relief in a story that is so serious. The amount of times I cracked up because of him is too many to count.

I loved that the author showed a family with cracks in their foundation. Losing your normalcy is anything but easy and I felt the book portrayed that very well. I love watching Lila try to put herself back out there. Seeing her mess up time and time again while trying not to lose her sh!t. Her relationship with her best friend is seriously friendship goals. I loved it.

I recommend this book if you love family drama, chaos, fun banter, and just learning to grow after a big loss.

I fell in love with Jojo Moyes' writing with Me Before You so I was honored to be able to get an early read copy of her latest novel. What a beautiful story! I cried, laughed, and raged along with the characters and it was such a treat to read over a long holiday weekend. Once I got started, I couldn't put it down.

It’s been a while since I read a Jojo Moyes book and her newest book, We All Live Here, did not disappoint. It’s a character driven novel about a middle-aged, newly divorced, mom of two who is struggling to keep her life together and find a new normal. Her mother recently passed away so her grieving step father moved in indefinitely. Her flaky father who has been out of the picture most her life suddenly shows up, adding another stressful dynamic to her household.

Not a lot happens plot wise in this book but the character development kept me interested. I was rooting for Lila throughout the book and the way things wrapped up at the end were satisfying. One thing that bugged me, probably more than it should have, was that there were a few random chapters written from the POV of Lila’s daughter Celie. There was also one chapter written from the POV of her deceased mother. I’m not sure what Moyes was trying to do with those chapters. They felt random and unimportant to the plot line.

I’d recommend this book to anyone who has a bit of patience for a slower paced book and appreciates realistic characters trying to make sense of their world.

This is a beautiful realistic look into the messy life of a mixed family. I just loved everyone’s narrative and the journey that they all got to go on. This book is an inspiring tale of there is life after loss, be it death, divorce, or other. The amount of growth that each character has throughout this book is just perfection. I know that readers are going to be enchanted by this fabulous novel.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! This is my first Jojo Moyes book and will not be my last! This was such an enjoyable read from start to finish. Loved all of the well-developed characters, their banter, and following along as the family navigated struggles around what it means to be a family and how the changing dynamics of family members can impact all involved. The cheeky romances rounded out this wonderful read heading into 2025!

These are some of the strongest characters Moyes has written, in my opinion. This novel is hopeful, heartbreaking, and hilarious. I loved it!
