It was a very interesting reading first because it is one of the few testimonies of successful women representative of the Hispanic community and second because it also have a merit-based approach to personal and professional achievement. Solidarity and support are important elements in Manjarrez´s story and her encouragement can be easily replicated in the case of other communities lacking visibility and media coverage.

It is a story of success and resilience, smartly using business and academic resources. Set for personal and professional growth, Manjarrez also took over the task of empowering other women and members of the Hispanic community to reach the level of taking over the control of their destinies in a aim-oriented and systematic way.

An example to be inspired of.

Manjarrez also addresses the barriers that prevent full participation of Hispanic talent, such as educational and systemic obstacles. She offers practical strategies for overcoming these challenges, including expanding mentorship programs and fostering a more inclusive work environment. Her book serves as a guide for leaders to implement diversity initiatives effectively, helping them identify talent in nontraditional pathways and create supportive spaces for growth. Through her insights, Manjarrez makes a compelling case for CEOs to prioritize diversity as a means of driving both organizational success and broader economic growth.

This was a good book, although I found it difficult to believe. Some of the Hispanics I work with are so proud that they are Hispanic they don't work well.
