Would You Rather? Animals Editions – Answer Wild and Wacky Questions to Win a Roaring Good Game by Lindsey Daly is a book set up as a children’s game and is aimed at those who are eight to twelve years old. However, most ages can have fun with it. The introduction tells readers there are more than 160 questions to start the discussion. It’s designed to be played as a game with winners for individual questions and chapters and an ultimate game winner. Points are based on humor, logic, critical thinking, and overall creativity. There are sections explaining the rules of the game as well as keeping store. There are eight rounds in the game with 20 questions each plus a tiebreaker. The rounds are categorized by subjects such as pets, birds, farm animals, and more.
I felt this was a clever way to think about various animals and possibly learn something about one’s self. The illustrations are well-done. However, to make it more of a learning experience, I would have liked to have had some information about the animals in each round either before or after the questions for that round. Despite this quibble, the book would work well as a game to occupy everyone on a long road trip, to use as icebreakers, or for a game night.
Overall, the book is creative, quirky, and fun for the whole family.
Zeitgeist – Z Kids and Lindsey Daly provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. The publication date was October 29, 2024.

This was a really cute book to read with my 4 and 1/2 year old. They love animals and are super curious in general so they loved me asking so many questions. We didn't do the scoring but used it as general conversation.
Format: was a little odd and messy, not sure if that was the NetGalley e-reader or the actual version. My only suggestion would be to add a flow to some of the questions, a few sections start off really stark and then randomly have lighter ones (like what bugs would you rather have infesting your house, I had to skip or reformat some of those questions for their age).
This was the first 'Would You Rather..." book we've read and they absolutely loved it and are already asking for another one.

I picked this one for me and my kids to read. It’s so much fun! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy.

Would You Rather? Animals Edition (written by Lindsey Daly and illustrated by Arthur Balitskii) is a fun filled book of questions to win a game. With 8 rounds of questions about animals, this book makes the perfect fun family game.

Thank you Zeitgeist for the free copy.
A quirky and fun way to engage with kids and even start a conversation on different animals. My older kids have had an absolute fun time with this book and asking people in their lives some of the questions. They didn't prefer to play the way the book is designed, but they love the content.

I loved this story! the illustrations were well done and the story had a great message for kids. My son really liked it

A fun Would You Rather game for the whole family! Though, it's definitely more of a game than a book. I was hoping there would be some fun and interesting facts about animals as we went and there wasn't, so that was a bit of a disappointment.

This book has become our go-to restaurant activity. My kids are 4 and 7. We play while waiting for our food. The kids are engaged and most of the time we were laughing. I skipped a few that went over the kids heads. My kids liked the ones that you really like/love both options. I enjoy the ones that you don't want either option. We did not keep score like the book recommended, but we still had a great time! We will use this again.

This is such a fun read for kids and a great activity generator. My nieces loved it and it was fun for everyone! Its an enjoyable book and activity for the whole family.

This is a great book for 8-12 year olds and even adults! This would be fun for classrooms as well as family game nights, road trips, and parties. This is the animal edition and I will definitely look for more in this series.

A fun little book that would be great to play during a game night. Used some of the prompts in my class to start discussion between my students. They absolutely loved it and we had some great discussions.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this arc!
A cute quick this or that question book related to animals. Super short and quick for kids but I also enjoyed the quick would you rathers as well lol. Only 27 pages so don't be expecting more like I was for some reason.

This book goes beyond the “Would You Rather” books that I’ve seen so far. I anticipate my students having engaging conversations while answering what they would rather do. This book has some excellent academic vocabulary that will go well with animal anatomy lessons. Also, kids that have fun learning about animals will love this book.

My kids (12, 10, and 6) and I loved this book! We didn’t play it as a game so much as use it as just fun conversation starters at dinner and bedtime.
We were lucky to get an advance copy, but I would highly recommend purchasing it to anyone with kiddos for some giggly discussions!

So much fun! My husband and I enjoyed it just as much as our kids did! I never thought to make would you rather into a game and I give the author a ton of props for that! I can’t wait to check out the other editions.

I didn't really know what to expect when I picked this book completely out of curiosity. I find the concept interesting and potentially fun, but I'm not quite sure that a book is the best format for this. The idea seems a lot like some kind of a board game, and using flash cards might be easier and more random, than having to flip through the pages of a book. I'm not entirely sold by the execution, but the idea is nice to keep kids entertained away from screens.

This book offers such great and unique 'would you rather' questions, but the game concept of it was lost to us. Definitely a fun book to have if you want questions on hand, but probably wouldn't purchase because of the emphasis on the game.

Thank you, Netgalley, for allowing me to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own
I love these books for road trips or, lately, for traffic on the way home from school. The child can practice reading while entertaining the vehicle. Listening to people work through their decision-making process and defending their opinions is very interesting

"Would You Rather: Animals Edition" is a total blast! This game book is packed with hilarious and crazy animal scenarios that will have you laughing out loud.
Imagine choosing between having a pet dinosaur or a talking cat! Or how about being able to understand animal languages but not human ones? The questions are totally ridiculous, but so much fun.
If you're looking for a game to play with friends or family, this one's a winner. It's a great way to have a good time and learn some cool stuff about animals too.

This was super adorable. What a fun game to play with kids. The pictures are fun. This would be a great family read
