This was my first book by Kristen Bailey and was such a cute holiday story! It reminded me of Mhairi McFarlane’s writing & I really enjoyed it. It was funny, sweet & heartwarming.

Our story is about Maggie who works in an IT department with three lovable guys— Jasper, Frank & Leo. Since Maggie is going to be solo for Christmas this year the guys take it upon themselves to invite her to their various holiday festivities.

We Three Kings has romance but it’s not the main event! It’s about friendship, family & doing the right thing. It was giving PG-13 Hallmark Christmas Movie!

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC of We Three Kings in exchange for an honest review.

Maggie loves her job as head of IT at a financial firm, and her three geeky but lovable work buddies. And when they invite her to stay with each of them for the holidays, she can’t resist the chance to get to know them better.

But then her boss tells her she has to make one of her beloved team redundant, and Maggie is distraught. Frank’s work is his world, Jasper’s sarcastic humour is everything, and Leo…well, he’s talented, professional, confusingly attractive, dependable, and funny… Maggie definitely doesn’t want to lose him.

With her career and her heart on the line, Maggie sets off on the Christmas adventure of a lifetime, from playing fake girlfriend at a lavish wedding, to rescuing baby foxes on a posh country estate, to chasing a very confused donkey on Christmas Day in the Lake District. She can’t ignore the sparks between her and Leo – but she also can’t avoid her dilemma.

Can she find a way to keep her work family together, and maybe even find true love under the mistletoe?

If you're craving a cosy Christmas read, this one hits the spot! The characters are real, the humour is spot-on, and it beautifully captures the idea that your work family can be just as important as your real one.

Thanks to Storm Publishing for the widget. While this story takes place during the Christmas season its not really a Christmas story if that makes sense. Maggie must make a decision to lay-off one of her 3 co-workers. Frank, Jasper, or Leo she is the supervisor in the IT department. Without wanting to give anything away this book is so funny and just goes to show that there is such a thing as a work family. I resonated with Maggie in the case that I'm the only girl in a office full of men as well. I enjoyed their story and all the adventures and misadventures that they got into.

This is a heartwarming Christmas romcom centered on Maggie, an IT supervisor who has worked closely with her three colleagues—Frank, Jasper, and Leo—for the past four years. The four have grown into a tight-knit group, almost like family. When the guys discover that Maggie will be spending Christmas alone, they make it their mission to ensure she isn’t. Maggie ends up spending time with each of them and their families, deepening her connection with all three men.

However, Maggie faces a difficult dilemma just before the holidays: HR informs her that she must choose one person from her team to be made redundant in the new year. As she spends the holidays enjoying the company of her colleagues and their families, this tough decision weighs heavily on her mind.

The story beautifully balances humor, warmth, and the strong bonds of friendship, with plenty of amusing moments that highlight the dynamics between Maggie and the men. A twist at the end helps preserve their closeness, while her budding romance with Leo adds a sweet touch to the tale. Full of festive cheer, it’s a feel-good read that’s perfect for the holiday season, even if the plot feels predictable at times. The book’s sense of family, friendship, and holiday magic makes it a delightful and charming read.

If you're craving a cozy Christmas read with all the right ingredients—found family, workplace romance, and friends-to-lovers magic—this one hits the spot! Sure, the plot is a bit predictable, but that’s part of the charm. The characters are real, the humor is spot-on, and it beautifully captures the idea that your work family can be just as important as your real one.

Big thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for letting me get in on this festive treat.

This did exactly what it says on the tin - it was a heartwarming but predictable rom-com, and sometimes that's exactly what I'm in the mood for.

I liked following Maggie as she explored her relationships with the three men she works with. They all seemed lovely in their own ways, and I enjoyed getting to know their families and individual storylines. Was it obvious how it would all end? Yes, but I really enjoyed the journey of getting there.

I would recommend this for anyone who wants a lighthearted, festive story.

One of the best rom com writers around - Bailey was once likened to Mhairi MacFarlane and I can’t think of a bigger compliment than that.

Wonderful characters that you wish you could bring to life off the page and fantastic comedy - there’s little more that you could ask for. Highly recommended as usual.

I'm hooked on Kristen Bailey's writing after reading this delightful holiday romance!
Maggie, a dedicated IT manager, finds herself surrounded by a supportive "work family" - three charming colleagues who refuse to let her spend Christmas alone while her parents are away. Instead, they concoct a festive plan, each inviting her to join them for various holiday events.
This heartwarming office romance expertly weaves together Maggie's deepening connections with each of her colleagues, making it impossible to put down. As the holiday season unfolds, Maggie faces a difficult choice, keeping me turning pages until the very end.
A perfect holiday read, this clean and uplifting romance is filled with genuine moments that will leave you feeling cozy. Don't miss out on this charming tale when it releases - it's sure to become a seasonal favorite!

This was such a fun, thoughtful holiday read.

Maggie is the head of an IT department and enjoys working with her three co-workers. When they find out she's spending the holiday alone, they scheme together and decide she's going to spend it all with them. She heads off to a wedding with one, a posh country estate with another and a hometown visit with the third. Along the way, she learns all about them and their families and what the holidays mean to them. It's a fun story, but deep character interactions. I really enjoyed this one!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

A cozy Christmas read, with realistic characters, humour and although it’s fairly predictable, I enjoyed the story line. I like that it shows that men and women can just be friends, that your work family is just as valid as your real one and that you should always be yourself. One for your Christmas stocking.

A nice, steady (albeit sometimes paced a little too slowly) rom com with a few literal LOLs thrown in. I will definitely be recommending We Three Kings as a reliable, cozy, contemporary romance for the holidays — I envisioned the entire story as a movie that played out in my mind,
between all the England locales that make the Christmas season feel even more nostalgic and majestic. Bridget Jones vibes in the best way.

*Possible spoiler*

I’m not sure if it’s a European vs US thing but Maggie’s fraternizing relationship with her subordinates was totally unrealistic based on my corporate experience in the states. And, not in a cute way but in a frowned upon, loose, annoying way. And, as much as I enjoyed how each played out, I didn’t love the personality of any of the three men. As a matter of fact, Leo felt whiny and undeserving of how the story ultimately played out.

Beyond my distaste for the characters’ flaws, I did genuinely enjoy the story.

This is such a heartwarming and entertaining story of co-workers /friendships during the holiday season. It has a great cast of main characters, who were just adorable and showcased well.

I loved how Maggie had such a big heart and was so supportive and caring of her team, and they cared for her as well. The Three Kings - Jasper, Leo, and Frank - are all a bit nerdy but the sweetest guys who each have their own distinctive personalities that will have you falling in love with them.

The book is fast-paced and easy to read with some great laugh out loud moments. It's about friendship and loyalty and the things you will do for the people you love.
