I loved this book, but then I have loved all of Kristen's books!
A funny love story blended with friendship and Christmas, what more could you ask for.
There is laugh out loud moments along with awww moments. I devoured this book in 1 night.
This is the perfect read for over the christmas holidays.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the chance to read this one in exchange for my honest review.
Awwww I wish I could give this book a great big hug and all the amazing fictional characters in it!
So cute. So cozy And perfect if you’re needing some Christmas vibes! Heck, I need Christmas vibes year round! The thing I really loved is that Kristen Bailey actuallyactually wrote Christmas into this story so well! It’s so hard to pick up and read a Christmas book that actually gives you Christmas vibes.
Her friends/co-workers who have basically become her family over the years each invite her to spend Christmas with their families…as friends, of course ;). Can one of these friends possibly become more? The adventures she goes on thanks to them are so fun and funny and just heart warming.
If you need the Christmas vibes now and want zero spice (only a few off-the-page mentions), then cozy up with this one!
What an hilarious and fantastic festive read. Maggie runs a small IT and is tasked with making one redundant. The problem? She’s great friends with all three of them. There are some fabulous moments as she spends time with all of them over Christmas after her parents go away for Christmas. This is a great Rom com but the real winner is the warm funny friendships between the four. A must read!
A real holiday treat! We Three Kings was such a fun read, filled with humor and heart. We follow Maggie, head of the IT department at Wisemans who works with three fairly different but all slightly nerdy guys. When her parents decide to go on a cruise over Christmas, instead of being home alone for the holidays, she divides her time between the three guys, Frank, Jasper and Leo. Oh and we can’t forget that she is informed right before the holidays that she has to let one of them go due to cutbacks in the office.
So many funny moments ensue when she ends up fake dating Frank at his sister’s wedding. Saves baby foxes from a hunt with Jasper at his family estate and breaks into a barn to get a selfie with a goat with Leo. This book had me laughing and smiling the whole time. A light fun read guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit. All while giving us a great example of lasting friendships and a sweet love story.
The title and cover art led me to believe it was going to be a RH or the main character having to choose between three men, but that is not the case. It's also a PG/PG13 story, there is nothing inappropriate, just a cute love story.
The story follows Maggie as she spends her christmas holidays going to events with her three male friends/coworkers, only one of which is a love interest, while she also has to choose who to let go from her department.
Maggie and her friends are all kind and supportive, there's no drama, and it's a wonderfully cozy light hearted read perfect for the holidays. It felt like Christmas time already, snuggling in on the couch to watch Hallmark movies with a cup of hot chocolate, in book form.
Simple, straightforward, well written, and perfect for anyone who wants a break.
Frank's family had Crazy Rich Asians 2.0, and were just as funny to read about. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the character was autistic. I hope we can have a story about him and Norah! They seemed so cute together.
Jasper is who Farleigh from Saltburn could've been if he was a good guy, and I loved how sweet he was with his partner and mum.
Despite Leo being the main love interest, and obviously being a good guy, I felt like we didn't really get a good look into who he was. And some of the characterization of who he was wasn't always consistent. He seemed very shy, but then also very confident and adventurous over the phone? Idk maybe I just read into it too much.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas romcom. Maggie leads a small IT team of 3 men who have all become close work friends. When her parents go on a cruise for Christmas, the guys decide to bring Maggie to their family events so she isn’t alone. At each event, Maggie learns much more about her work friends and found family. She also starts leaning into her crush on one of the guys. The problem? She finds out right before Christmas that she has to lay off a team member. This story had it all. Funny situations, touching moments, and romance. This is closed door but when plenty of tension. Highly recommend!
Thank you Storm Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Boo Basket season is upon us, yet I decided skip the orange glow of the pumpkins and jump directly into the red and green of the Christmas ho-ho-holidays (this is the best joke I could come up with, I strongly apologise for the cringe). Thank you NetGalley and Storm for this EARC of We Three Kings by Kristen Bailey. If you’re in the mood for a Christmas feel-good romance, this one’s for you!
The settings are picture-perfect: London on Christmas, and a cute cottage in the Lakes District. Nothing sets the festive mood better than a good blanket of snow in the countryside. The characters are quirky, lovable IT nerds. My only complain is that I would have liked for Maggie to spend a bit more than just a couple of days with each of them. It felt like the endings of each of their parts was a bit rushed.
We Three Kings is a funny, cute and cosy rom-com, meant to be read by the fire with a hot chocolate and never-ending servings of mince pies. It’s a story about friendship beyond work outings, and about love sneaking up on you at the worst possible time. But, most importantly, it’s a story about three little foxes, Duncan the Donkey, and Jan’s windswept trip to New York, innit?
Another brilliant festive comedy from Kristen Bailey. I absolutely loved Five Gold Rings last year and We Three Kings did not disappoint!
The characters are so loveable, I adored the cute storyline and it's just such a funny, easy read book.
What a fun read!
The characters: Maggie, Leo, Frank and Jasper were all really likeable. The story is based around the four of them, they work in IT in the basement for a firm. It’s clear that they are such great friends and I loved that the story was based around their friendship.
The story was great, there were plenty of mishaps and so many funny moments that I was literally laughing out loud at parts.
The book flowed so well, and I couldn’t put it down as I just needed to know what happened next! I loved the ending, this is the perfect Rom-com.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced egalley copy to read and review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Fake dating? Count me in, though it was taken in a completely different path than I expected, but I'm not mad about it! I adore the entire plot. I do wish there was more of a build up, it was almost immediately when Maggie started crushing on one of the guys (that she's known already for years), then we aren't reminded of them two for a while, and all of the sudden they're getting heavy, there was practically zero interaction that we saw between them, and then they are a couple. Make us wait a little bit please.
I love how everyone has their own personality and they are all showcased really well, with the exception of Leo, he is a bit boring and doesn't have much substance added to him, we do learn a tad more about him when it's his turn for Maggie to spend Christmas time with Leo, but I was starting to fall asleep during that time honestly.
I enjoyed the ending, everything wrapped up really nicely.
This is a cute Christmas Story for the Christmas season. I really enjoyed the characters. I loved the plot and the story.
Simply brilliant! I loved this friends to lovers holiday romcom. What a great way to start my holiday-themed reading. The characters are delightful, and their families and the hijinks they get up to over the holiday season are hilarious. A nice sweet read to get you in the mood for the holidays!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A festive and fun holiday rom com. I laughed as much as I “aww’ed,” lower levels of spice, (my preference)- a coworker romance and really strong witty banter and strong character development of the supporting characters. I am adding Kristen Bailey’s other books to my “To read” list. If you like holiday romance, this is not one to miss.
Set in the UK, Maggie is what we call “adorkable” the IT manager who has the difficult task of knowing who to let go and make redundant. That is….RIGHT after the holidays. Maggie keeps this a secret from her team of 3– Leo, Jasper and Frank. With Leo she has great chemistry and mutual attraction, she helps fake dating Frank to his cousin’s wedding (which is a very funny segment) and visits Jasper’s posh family, where he is half in and half out of the closet. Over the holiday she spends part with each of the “3 kings” on her team.
I found the dialogue to be excellent, the humor lighthearted while heartwarming, and the story easy to read and follow. Great for fans of Sarah Adams and Tessa Bailey.
Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC. Book to be published October 14, 2024.
I really liked this book! I found all of the main characters extremely likeable and could think of people in my own life they remind me of. I really liked the way the book separated into when Maggie spent time with each of the guys and explained how those trips went. Another brilliant book by Kristen!
What a charmer!
This has everything you want in a holiday book…atmosphere, romance, adventure, humour, family and friendship.
Maggie is the head of the IT department and the rest of her team is comprised of three gentlemen…Frank, Jasper and Leo. When Maggie finds herself facing the holidays alone, these three co-workers take her under their wings and invite her to be a part of their family holiday celebrations. However, before leaving the office for the holiday break, Maggie receives some difficult news and a decision needs to be made in the new year. This decision will have a big impact on the three friends who have graciously opened their hearts, homes and families to Maggie. In more ways than one, this will be a holiday season that Maggie will never forget.
I could not quit smiling and laughing, while reading this book. The characters are incredibly likeable, making it easy to get swept up in this story. So grab a cup of hot chocolate or eggnog, wrap up in a cozy blanket and immerse yourself in the pages of this utterly delightful book! Thank you to Storm Publishing for this gifted copy via NetGalley. These opinions are entirely my own. Now, bring on the holiday season!
We Three Kings: A Festive Fun Family Rom-Com
⭐⭐⭐⭐
We Three Kings by Kristen Bailey is a delightful Christmas story; if you’re a fan of the holiday and romance, this book will most certainly make you chuckle. The eccentric King brothers, Frank, Leo and Jasper along with the kind-hearted boss Maggie make a perfect themed and endearing mix that fits the concept of the holiday season perfectly.
What I loved:
The lovable King brothers: At least, their distinct personalities and plain silly behaviours would always lighten the mood up.
The heartwarming family bond: The love from the King brothers and their family is very touching and genuine at the same time.
The festive setting: It is warm and festive during the Christmas time which is most people’s favorite time.
The hilarious banter: This is true because the characters will make you laugh with their dialogue and interplay.
Disclaimer: This book is NOT a Why Choose Romance!
All in all, We Three Kings is a sweet and cosy story perfect to read during the holiday season (or when you want holiday season vibes). If you are fan of slow burn + low spice this book is perfect for you, releasing on 14th October 2024.
Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for giving the opportunity to read and review this book!
I loved all the characters!!! All 4 (Maggie, Frank, Jasper and Leo) were so well written!! But I didn't love that I didn't pick up on the Easter eggs until I'd finished reading it.
Kristen Bailey has done it again!!! This book is such a sweet Christmas read and it will have you laughing out loud so many times!! Put aside a day to read this as once you start, you won't want to stop!!
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book.
Wow! Can I just say how amazing this book is. What a feel good book that is perfect for the holidays. The character development is fantastic and I fell in love with Maggie, Jasper, Leo and Frank. I honestly smiled and laughed so many times during this book and found myself not wanting it to end. It had everything from romance to friendship and it was just heartwarming. I will be looking to read all of of Kristen Bailey’s books now, as this was just brilliant.
Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. What an honor to read this book early.

How can We Three Kings be as adorable as its premise promised? I must admit I was curious given I wasn’t sure if this would flirt with a Scrooge type of theme or focus on true romance territory, and I was pleased to have this focus on a unique friendships and a slowly evolving romance in a well balanced story that was funny and sweet.
I loved Maggie, our main character, and her description of her role as head of IT support in a company, shaking up the perception of that field of interest being a guy’s role by leading the team. Along with this, those who she manages are on the surface who you might expect in the role but are quickly then explored further as endearing characters who have a host of strengths and quirks, but are ultimately a great group of friends she is lucky enough to work with. Each of these guys end up building up to this great story full of snort inducing shenanigans and a believable and sweet romance.
I recommend this, both as a Christmas and every day read. This story shouldn’t be kept for the holidays alone as it’s going to brighten up your day regardless of the time of year.
I need Kristen Bailey to write Christmas novels every year. I always finish her books generally with a huge smile on my face. I was trying to explain the dynamic of the “three kings” and the best I came up with (and I thought it was pretty good) was this is a British new girl with a sweeter Nick. I loved Maggie and I loved her IT department. The adventures were so much fun and I love how everything wrapped up with a festive bow. Can’t wait for the next Bailey book!
I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher.
