I really enjoyed this book! It was nice to read something closed door from Kirsten Bailey! I think the vulnerability she was able to write out for all these characters is amazing and the Christmas setting gives it just the touch of magic that it needs! Really wonderful

[Pretty funny]
I've been approved by Storm Publishing to read this book and I found the blurb really fun, so I decided to give it a chance. Thank you for this!🤗
Maggie is leading an IT team of three men: Jasper, Frank and Leo. When they found out she will spend the holidays alone, they come up with a plan for her, to spend a day with each of them. But, just before the holidays begun, Maggie was announced that some cuts are needed in the company. That meant that she needed to part ways with one of her peers too.
Some great days were spent with each of them and amazing memories were made. Another kind of feelings begin to grow between Maggie and Leo, which makes it even more complicated for her, to choose who to keep and who to let go.
I liked that each man from the team got a separate part in the story. They were all so funny and I got super attached to them, making it hard for me too to chose who should get fired. Each of them had their issues when it came to their personal lives and were unique in their own way. I enjoyed how sweet and thoughtful Leo was . I can say that he is the one who falls harder for Maggie🤭.
I had so much fun reading this book, following their adventures from those days they shared together. All the characters played a huge part in the storyline and I loved everything single part of it.
Charming with a work twist...
Maggie is head of IT with a small team of Frank, Jasper and Leo. She will have to make redundant one of them. Ironically, she spends time with each of her co-workers and their families from different parts of England. A very cute and cozy (American spelling) holiday read, lots of festive cheer, but with a twist of who will she choose to make redundant. Friendship, a possible romance.
Recommend.
I absolutely loved Kristen Bailey’s Christmas novel Five Gold Rings, and once again she’s hit it out of the park with this one. I adore the way she infuses so many Christmas vibes and traditions, making it more than just a story set at Christmas. It’s so cozy and festive and perfect to get you in the spirit. I also loved this story and the characters she created. They were so wholesome and heartwarming, and the way they created a little found family was so sweet. I teared up several times at the way they looked after each other and I loved the FMC and how much she cared for other people. Just generally a feel good, festive, cozy read with lots of humor and laugh out loud moments. I hope she comes out with a Christmas book every year!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I hadn’t read Kristen Bailey before, but her books always popped up on my feed, so I decided to try We Three Kings. With its charming cover and Christmas setting, it looked like the perfect cozy read for the holidays—and I’m so glad I picked it up!
This story is packed with everything I love in a holiday read: friendship, romance, and a big dose of festive cheer. Maggie, the head of a small IT team, is set to be alone for Christmas, but her three quirky teammates—Frank, Jasper, and Leo—won’t hear of it. Each on of her friends invites her to spend the holidays with them and their families, giving Maggie a holiday filled with fun, warmth, and a few surprising adventures. The connection among these coworkers feels so real; they’re more than just colleagues—they’re chosen family, and it made the story that much sweeter.
Maggie’s journey with each friend is a hilarious, heartwarming ride. From a fake date at a wedding to chasing an escaped donkey on Christmas Day, her adventures had me laughing and rooting for her. And let’s just say that Leo, in particular, brings a lovely friends-to-lovers twist to the mix that adds all the right office-romance vibes.
There’s a bittersweet side, too—Maggie’s facing the tough decision of which of her friends will lose their job in the New Year. Watching her wrestle with this impossible choice added depth to the story, giving it real emotional stakes and reminding me how tricky, and meaningful, our closest relationships can be.
We Three Kings is a charming, cozy read that’s perfect for anyone in the mood for romance, laughs, and a bit of Christmas magic. Highly recommend curling up with this one if you want to get into the holiday spirit! Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC.
We Three Kings is a really great holiday read. This story is filled with friendship, romance and made me laugh out loud a few times. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.
This was such a fun Christmas rom-com and I laughed so much. Maggies has to figure out which of her 3 males workers to let go, whilst also deciding if she is catching feelings for one of them. I loved this so much and it reminded me a bit of New Girl and I am not complaining!
This book is not bad at all! I just didn't like how it dragged on for so long with fmc going and getting to know the 3 mmc.
Now that Halloween is over, sad face. We can now enjoy Christmas with our TBR Christmas themed books! “New Girl” vibes but she’s the boss and they are really great colleagues turned friends turned family. But will one career decision tear them apart? Read it while it lasts 😊 and there’s also romance if you cared which I do of course!
If Charles Dickens Wrote A Hallmarkie Christmas RomCom. Seriously, this is one of those Christmas Hallmarkie type tales that in its basic set up brings to mind almost a modern version of A Christmas Carol... but as a romcom rather than a "glimpse" based drama. Here, Bailey works her usual comedic genius in the various situations Maggie finds herself in, even if the ultimate outcome (not just the romantic one, but the specific plot one) was rather obvious almost from the moment the "problem" is introduced in the tale. But there again: Hallmarkie. As in, such obvious outcomes are damn near a reason to read the book to begin with - there won't be much unexpected here, and what does show up unexpectedly will be used for either comedy or light drama that won't really go much of anywhere other than to add a few dozen more pages to the tale.
I will note that as someone in tech who actually experienced an unexpected "reduction" earlier this year, this one hit a touch harder than many for me personally - and given the blood bath that tech has been experiencing these last few years, this will likely be the case for many readers. One of the better things here though is that Bailey captures our world so well that one begins to suspect she may have been one of us before beginning her writing career.
Ultimately a feel good Christmas romcom, this is going to be exactly what some people want... and exactly what at least a few others want to avoid. Know thyself and which camp you're in and read (or not) accordingly. :D
Very much recommended.
Thank you to the publisher and author for giving me an e-arc for review and letting me join the book tour!
Kristen really knows how to write a Christmas book, her descriptions of Christmas and how to literally capture the feelings, sights and sounds of Christmas and wrap them up into a book is just incredible! It made me feel so cosy and ready for a night sat by the Christmas tree in October!
The connection I felt towards each of Kristen’s characters was so quick and fast, learning about each character’s special qualities, their families and who they are was such a delight and it had me wanting even more!
We see Maggie, manager of her IT department spend her Christmas with her three male colleagues. Instead of Maggie spending Christmas alone, she hops from each colleague and their line of Christmas family occassions so she isn’t alone, however a love is blossoming but what will Maggie do?
I’ve loved reading this book and Kristen yet again releases the perfect read to get you into the seasonal spirit!
A hilarious Christmas romp for your holiday reading list! IT boss Maggie leads a team of three men. When they discover she is going to be alone over Christmas, all three offer invitations to make sure she is occupied. That’s all great except the HR department has told Maggie she needs to downsize her team by one person. And now she finds herself falling for one of her team. Lots of laugh out loud moments in this heart warming read!
If you’re looking for a cute fun rom-com that will get you into festive mood, We Three Kings by Kristen Bailey is what you are looking for 🎄🎅🏼
I deeply enjoyed this book, it made me laugh out loud a lot. And even though I kind of figured the last part, it didn’t stop me from crying on the subway (but just a note, i cry so easily to books😅)
This book got me into christmas mood this early too! Now I can’t wait for christmas to come, it was described so warm and joyful💚
And I just saw that she has another christmas book, so I’ll def read it around december!
- holiday romance
- found family
- workplace romance
- low spice
I loved this original concept! The idea of a female boss and her little work family doing Christmas was such a fresh take on a holiday romance. I enjoyed the way this story unfolded and the three very different christmas adventures she went on with the 3 different guys. I loved the honesty and openess of the love interest, that's also fresh and new to me from these types of stories. I thought this story was so sweet and festive and I was hooked.
I just finished her first book, and I'm eagerly looking forward to diving into her other works. I really loved this holiday tale about four colleagues who come to value their friendship and their family more. Of course, there's a charming love story in there, but I'm not sure if it fits the typical rom-com mold. It's something deeper, and I was instantly captivated by the unique characters. Bailey is incredibly funny, and I'm certain my friends who enjoy light reads will enjoy this one too.
I absolutely love this new addition to Kristen Baileys works! It’s such a heartwarming holiday read and I love hearing the flashbacks to her precious holiday romance!
I'm normally a fantasy/horror girlie, but I challenged myself to start reading romance this year. This was my first ever holiday romance book. Well, deck the halls and light the menorah because I might just have a new favorite romance niche. Or maybe Kristen Bailey is just very good at what she does.
I adored this. An FMC in tech, a believable if rather quick love connection, and all the cozy holiday vibes.
I'm so grateful to have received an ARC from NetGalley, and I'll be recommending this one to friends this holiday season!
A great holiday read! It took me longer than normal to get into this book, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down! Thank you for the advanced read!
Kristen Bailey does it again with a laugh out loud heart felt romantic holiday romp. Maggie has taken over a lead position over an IT department at a finance firm. She oversees three geeky and awkward techs who quickly make a place in her heart. The only problem? She has to let one of them go after the holiday break. They take her under their wing during the holiday weekend, where she quickly crushes on Leo. As the deadline to cut a tech looms over her, she looks for ways to keep the department together and explore the love that is growing.
I absolutely loved this book. Bailey has quickly become one of my go to rom com authors. The characters are fun and quirky. The story is full of complicated and hilarious moments. Most of all, the book has heart. I grew to adore the characters. The romance feels genuine and grows naturally. Overall, a wonderful read!
💭This book has everything you could possibly need in a festive rom com. Friends, family, laughter, tears and love🥰. What more could you possibly need! You know a books good when you and crying with laughter one minute, and then crying with emotion at the next.
💭Kristen’s writing in this one was so immersive I felt like I was right there with the characters. I could visualise shopping with Frank and Maggie🛍️. I could see myself in Jasper’s family home, and then out in the woods🌳. I could feel the happiness of being at Leo’s with all the family around for Christmas🎄. Numerous times I had butterflies thinking how Christmas is just around the corner and we will soon be doing all of this stuff🥹.
💭I loved the group dynamic of Maggie and the guys. At first I thought is this a love square which I do usually love, but on this occasion I’m so glad it was just one love interest and the rest friendship. I loved how we got to see all their relationships with each other play out and how much they all cared for one another❤️.
💭If I had more time, I would have read this within hours!
