Such a sweet story! I loved getting to know the characters and watching their lives intertwine. Cat’s chapters were my favorites.
While the dialog did feel a touch simplistic at times, I still thought this was a perfect, easy, heartwarming pallet cleanser book.
Thanks to Delacorte Press for providing an arc through NetGalley for me to review!

-What a delightful surprise. Thank you to @netgalley for the advance copy. #CatsPeople by @tanyaguerreroauthor is a charming story about Cat, a stray who lives on the street in Brooklyn, and their people. There’s Rainbow Lady, Awkward Guy and others. This little neighborhood all have relationships with Cat and soon they all meet each other. I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh my goodness, this story could not have been cuter or cozier. I loved how the characters in the book found themselves interconnected and, of course, how Cat the cat is featured. :) Loved it!

This book was a sweet exploration of the relationship between four different characters and the cat they each played a role in caring for. It was a bit cheesy at times, but I expected that going in just based on the premise. I thought it was an interesting choice to include the perspective of the cat—some of his thoughts were exactly how I imagined my own cats' thinking. As a rescue pet owner, I loved the representation of TNR and animal welfare volunteers. Much of their work goes unrecognized, so it's important to have stories like this one out there. Overall, this is a good, cozy spring read!

I was drawn to this book because of the cute cover and the description - I'm a huge cat lover. The writing in this book is elementary level. I already wasn't feeling the book, but the author really lost me at the mention of cis white men. Why is that necessary? DNF at 12%.

Núria, a single-by-choice barista tired of the "crazy cat lady" stereotype, volunteers with The Meow-Yorkers, a group dedicated to caring for stray cats in Brooklyn. While feeding her favorite stray, a black cat named Cat, she begins to receive mysterious Post-it notes from a secret admirer, though she remains unaware of their source. The potential authors of the notes include Collin, a reclusive bestselling author; Lily, a young woman seeking her estranged half-sister; Omar, the neighborhood mailman facing a midlife crisis; and Bong, a grieving widower who owns Núria's favorite bodega. When Cat falls ill, these five strangers come together, united by their concern for him, and embark on a journey of unexpected connections and personal growth through their shared experiences.

This is one of those books that highlights the beauty of humanity, the kindness of strangers, and what brings us all together. I have always been a cat person, and knew I wanted to read this book as soon as I saw it.
I loved reading about the various challenges each of the characters (including the cat) faced, and how they all looked past their own challenges and needs in order to help others.
This is a heartwarming story about found family and the power of friendship- and cats. I highly recommend picking this one up the next time you’re in need of a feel good story!

What an amazing tale! The story of a stray cat and the people who interact with him in a neighborhood in Brooklyn New York.
Cat livers will love this book but it is such a feel good tale focusing on the connections we all need in our lives it is truly for all readers
Nuria is a wonderful quirky heroine who is at the center of the book. She belongs to a group that takes care of street cats Gotta love their name - Meow - Yorkers.
We also meet Colin, an author and a loner, Omar the neighborhood mailman , Lily a young woman searching for her unknown half sister and Bong who runs the local bodega. The way they all meet and ultimately unite over Cat is so charming. Be prepared to feel moments of great emotion.
The ending was perfect but i can still see room for more from these characters!
Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for the advance reader copy to enjoy!

This is so cute!! It’s honestly cheesy but it made it so good for de-stressing after a long day. Loved it as a cat owner

What a cute cover, right? I can never say no to cat content.
This was such a sweet story about the effects of one cat on a collection of people. Having previously worked at a low-cost animal clinic, I too would feel obliged to want to care for a sickly animal. Also, the main cat being a black cat was so heartwarming to see the love pouring in after all the superstitions about them (I also happen to have a black cat).
It was interesting to get the different points of view; most fun from the cat of the book’s title. What a fun idea to showcase that viewpoint as people would always wish to know their pets thoughts. Following different stories gives way for more empathy and ability to relate to characters and want the best for them.
Thank you so much to the author, Tanya Guerrero, Random House and NetGalley for the eARC of Cat’s People!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was sweet, heartwarming and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

4.25 Stars. This was so cute and heartwarming! A great fluffy read or palette cleanser. I especially enjoyed getting Cat’s POV and his humor. I would recommend this to anyone who is an animal lover or loves found family feels.

Cat's People was the sweetest story! I adored each and every one character and how their lives all intertwined together by a stray cat in NYC. The cat even has chapters from it's POV. The pacing was perfect. When you are looking for an easy, uplifting, feel good story, this would be a purrrfect book to pick up!

This book was so sweet! I love the found family concept and love black cats even more, so this was totally my jam. Cat's People is about just that - Cat's people. Cat is a black cat living out on the street. He's fed by Núria outside of Collin's brownstone, loved on by the mailman Omar, and was watched out for by the wife of Bong (who owns the corner store) before she died. This story takes into account all of the people who love and care for Cat - regardless of the name they know him by - and shows how interconnected and small our little day-to-day worlds can be. And honestly, with animal lovers, it can be very much like this. What really stands out though is all of the help that Cat provides to the people around him. Having been a cat owner myself, I would not put it past any cat, except maybe an orange one, to be wily enough to do these things in real life. By the end, I was crying tears of joy like the soft-hearted mush of a human that I can be when animals are involved.
All in all, I would 100% recommend, especially to animal lovers (though no previous animal ownership experience is required to enjoy this book!). If you like the interweaving of multiple POVs and the it's-a-small-world type trope, you will likely enjoy this. Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for the opportunity to read this as an advanced reader copy for my unbiased opinion!

I enjoyed reading Cat's People by Tanya Guerrero. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

For a cat lover like myself, I was excited to read Cat's People. This is a story of how five strangers are brought together to form a strong bond over a cat. See, cats are not evil; they are a source for love, friendship, and good. For Núria, she's the typical cat lady working as a barista. She takes care of Cat, the stray black cat that hangs around the neighborhood. Mysterious notes are being left, and Núria goes about trying to discover who is leaving them. This along with caring for Cat brings five strangers to become a family.
Your heartstrings will be tugged in this highly entertaining and loveable tale. Each character has their point of view, including Cat, which I absolutely loved. If you are not a cat lover going into this book, you should be by the time you are finished. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, but next I want to listen to an audio book to hear the different voices come to life. And please, give us a television series or movie!

CAT’S PEOPLE by Tanya Guerrero is an absolutely delightful and heart-warming story of love, found family and the power of connection that will stay on my mind for a long time to come. Five strangers are brought together by a feisty stray black living on the streets of NYC. Cat has learned to be wary of humans who are often cruel and unkind to strays. But he has also come to trust a select few regulars in his Brooklyn neighborhood – ones that seem to go out of their way to help him. The lives of Núria, Collin, Lily, Omar and Bong, five struggling and lonely strangers, become unexpectedly intertwined when Cat falls ill. They become connected by their desire to help him and in the process, they help each other. Told from the points of view of the five characters and Cat himself, this charming story captured my heart and made me both laugh and cry. I truly adored this book and most highly recommend it. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read and review an early copy.

Still happy sad over this gorgeous book. One of my favorite authors is Fredrik Backman, I personally consider him the king of character building & connecting, breaking my heart and making me cry shuddering tears. All that to say: this book and author is in that tier for me. There are multiple POVs in this book, my favorite being Cat’s. At first it seems overwhelming but soon into it you realize the purpose and the way everything connects is so gorgeous.

This is a really satisfying novel about a group of strangers who form bonds with one another because of a stray cat. The characters are extremely engaging. They feel so real, and their problems are so relatable. It is heartwarming how they all come together and become like a family.
Even the fact that the cat at the center of the book is given a point of view does not come across as hokey, but just adds to the book's charm. If you are looking for a book that will give you warm, fuzzy feelings, this book is a good choice.
Just be warned, however, that some parts of the book deal with grief, which may be triggering for some people, although it is handled well.

If you are a lover of cat's, especially black cat's you will absolutely LOVE "Cat's People". Cat's People is a story about a stray black cat bringing five struggling and lonely strangers together in a Brooklyn neighborhood: Núria - a barista who feeds strays cats, Collin - an author with writers block, Lily - a high school grad looking for her half-sister, Omar - a mailman looking for a change and last but not least, Bong - a bodega owner grieving his late wife.
This is a lovable, wholesome, sweet story about a stray cat named Cat and the people that surround him. I absolutely adored this book!
Many thanks to #CatsPeople #NetGalley and #RandomHousePublishingGroup-Ballentine for providing me with an E-ARC of this heartwarming book.

A black stray named Cat weaves five lonely lives together in this tender, Brooklyn-set tale of unexpected friendship and quiet healing.
Núria never asked to be called a “crazy cat lady”—she just loves her Meow-Yorker volunteer shifts and her favorite street feline, Cat. But when mysterious Post-It notes begin appearing near his perch, Núria finds herself at the center of a heart-tugging summer mystery.
Is her secret admirer the reclusive writer with a coffee habit? The sweet southern teen on a personal quest? The mailman questioning his path? Or the widowed bodega owner nursing quiet grief?
When Cat falls ill, strangers become something more: a chosen family drawn together by one small creature and the simple, surprising ways love shows up.
So enjoyable!
