Hunterlore is book 2 in the in the Hunterland series. Liam, Olivia and the monster hunting group are back. In this volume, Liam is faces hunting his own mother and her pack of werewolves. Olivia is trying to find her place in Hunterland while navigating her abilities and her relationship with Liam. This YA sequel is filled with myth, fantasy, monsters and plenty of angst-filled romance. It’s a pretty solid read and a wonderful addition to the series. Liam and Olivia grow as people and in their relationship through the book. The romance is a slow burn giving importance to the overall development of the relationship. The two grow in understanding and trust along the way. The use of alternating points of views between Olivia and Liam really gives readers a glimpse into their lives and feelings about each other.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. I’m really looking forward to the second and continuing to read about Liam and Olivia’s journey.

Review: ℍ𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕖 brings our favorite crew of monster hunters back and they are ready to rumble in this second book of the ℍ𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕 series! Dana showcased the whimsical yet realistic vibe of modern day monster hunters while also weaving in the real day issues high schoolers face with growing hormones, emotions and friends! Olivia and Liam were a level 5 angst couple in this book and the “will he, won’t he” vibe Liam put off was INTENSE! I enjoyed how Dana was able to balance the high intensity of the job they did with the maturing emotions between them while also bringing in the secondary characters!
Liam and Olivia go through a lot of growing pains in this book and Dana was able to shed light on areas we missed in book1. A big area was the topic of Liam’s mother and the role she will play going forward. The tension she brought to this book split my heart since Liam was so determined not to accept or trust her but Olivia saw that they may not have another way. I also found that Olivia’s insecurities were a point that was very raw. Her feelings for Liam were almost too big for her and the way everyone tried to push them away from each other infuriated me since they were so much better together!
ℍ𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕖 is a slow burn, YA romance so the spice is few and far between but Dana made up for it with the way she began to develop their communication. Seeing these two really begin to trust and open up to each there was everything for this book and the character arcs made me want to hug each of them! ℍ𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕖 was another terrific read in this series and I cannot wait for book 3 and fingers crossed it releases sooner than planned!
Rating: 11+/10; ℍ𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕖 was another amazing installment of the Minter Hunter inc crew and I can't wait to see where Dana takes it next!
Thank you to Dana for sending me this eARC!
The Hunter and Davis families are thrown right back into another monster hunter case, and this time it's personal. Veronica Hunter, believed to be dead, has resurfaced as the Alpha of a werewolf pack. And, it seems that there has been increased werewolf behavior around Falkview Falls. While Pepper and Olivia hone their new skills as hunters, Liam and his dad are on a hunt for the woman who was once their mother and wife.
Hunterlore jumps right into the action in book two of the Hunterland series. This time, the mission stays more focused as the Hunter and Davis teams are focused on a pack of werewolves and finding Veronica Hunter. I enjoyed the addition of the hunter twins, Jazzy and Nicki, and their abilities. Their presence added a layer of friction between Olivia and Liam as well. Told through alternating points of view between Liam and Olivia, their relationship woes take up some of the focus. I was happy to see Olivia work on honing her powers more in this book. I also enjoyed the one chapter from Pepper's point of view, I think she is very interesting and I wish there were more chapters dedicated to her! I don't know how all of these hunters with special abilities didn't put the clues together about the werewolves in their midsts; however, I loved Veronica's character and hope to see more of her. Hunterlore also begins to give some information about the creation of the Hunterlands as well as a change in mindset that the monsters they are hunting may not be the monsters at all.

Hunterlore, the first book in this series, is perfect for anyone missing the Supernatural show. We have a group of monster hunters who call themselves Hunters. We follow some siblings, sisters Pepper and Oliva, who are new to the hunter lifestyle, having only discovered it in the first book. Liam and his sister, whose name is escaping me at the moment, grew up in hunter life with their parents, who are also Hunters.
That is where most of the similarities end, although it kept giving the same vibes as Supernatural throughout the book, and I was totally here for it.
Olivia has come a long way from the first book, she and her sister are training to be hunters, and I loved watching her make progress in her abilities and seeing the sisters grow closer. The story itself is engaging dealing with a part of Liam and his sister's past, and once I picked it up I didn't want to put it down. The characters are ones you want to root for. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing what was going to happen next, and overall I just had a great time with this story and I hope that we get more books in this series!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
I somehow completely missed that this is the second book in the series and I have not read the first, but the author does such a great job at tying in past events and world building that I didn’t feel lost by the time I hit about 20%! The cover is the thing that drew me in- it really called to the supernatural fan in me.
Olivia and Liam have a dynamic that is both endearing and frustrating as hell. It’s interesting to watch Olivia as she trains and comes into herself as a hunter, as well as Liam as he digs through his past. The way the team works together to hunt down the werewolves is very interesting, but I can say I could spot the plot twists from very early on. Not that they are entirely predictable, I just have a knack for pattern recognition and the clues are easy to pick up in the text. Overall it’s a fun and quick read.
Hunterlore is a YA Monster Romance perfect for fans of the show Supernatural. This book is the second installment in Dana Claire's Hunterland series. It revolves around the Hunter family, a family of "monster hunters," and the Davis family, who thought they were normal humans but actually had supernatural powers. While reading the books in order is unnecessary, I think readers would enjoy the backstory of how Liam and Olivia met before jumping into book two.
Hunterlore explores the world of werewolves and follows the Hunter and Davis families as they try to hunt down the pack that is killing outside of their little Wisconsin town.
Through family members returning from the grave and a budding romance between Liam and Olivia, readers will enjoy the suspense and mystery that Hunterlore delivers!
I jumped into this book after reading the synopsis, I’m a big fan of supernatural (TV show) and it definitely was giving similar vibes.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
I hadn’t read book 1 in the series which I regret as it did take a bit longer to get into the book but by 20% in I had a good understanding of the characters and what the dynamics were.
This is a great YA series for those interested in fantasy/paranormal, Liam and his team of family/friends take on their duties to hunt and rid their town of a pack werewolves who’ve been causing disturbances in the area.
In this book we learn more about Olivia and her powers as well as the growing relationship with Liam and her finding her place in the team.

Book 2 did not disappoint!
Because of the time between books 1 and 2, I appreciate the tastefully rendered recap at the beginning, well done Dana.
We are transitioning from the ghost mom in Hunterland, and the story of how Olivia and Pepper Davis came to join the Hunters. To the werewolf mother of Liam and Jac, and their struggles dealing with her turning.
The action starts early in the book, peppered with tension between Olivia and Nikki, Olivia and Liam, and doesn't let up!
Liam has some deep issues with how his mother, Roni was bitten, and the fact that she seemingly chose to turn instead of dying had played out. So finding out she was in the area, the alpha of a pack they believed was responsible for the murders, fighting her, and then having to now work with her to solve the recent murders was a tough pill for him to swallow. His character in this installment was very emotional, not as light-hearted and flirty as in book 1.
Olivia is coming into her own, beginning to understand her ability more, and finding her place among the Hunters. There is an aching question of how the hunters got their start and the information is rather sketchy causing Olivia to investigate further. The opportunity to ask Roni opens up, and the answer given leads to even more questions.
Olivia has a larger part in the Hunter's story than she realizes.
The ending was such a, "SAY WHAT NOW?!", that I am bummed to have to wait on book 3.
Thank you Netgalley, Dana Claire, and CamCat Books for the ARC of Hunterlore. I am voluntarily giving my honest opinion of this work.
