This rom com was really cute! It felt like the connection happened pretty quick, but I loved their interactions, especially the guess his middle name game that was an inside thing for them. I also loved that there were some deep things that were addressed like:
- toxic family relationships vs fabulous family relationships
- the importance of surrounding yourself with good people
- don't be afraid to be yourself
- someone that loves you will accept you for who you are and encourage you toward your goals

I really didn't like the mom. I was hoping for some sort of redemption but my hopes weren't met. It was fairly predictable but I did appreciate a little of the twists and turns at the end. I liked that Briggs didn't just say yes right away because he needed to find himself first too instead of just making her his everything. It really resonated with how I think a partnership should be, but I didn't think it needed to be an all or nothing! Overall, cute, made me giggle, and love a good HEA!

Celebrity Romance sign me up!

This was absolute perfection. If you love a good celebrity romance this is it. This was sweet and funny and so swoony. Loved the characters and their meet cute. It was so heartwarming watching them fall in love. Two people who weren’t looking for the one and just trying to survive after personal mishaps. I was living for those kiss scenes they were 🔥🔥🔥. I couldn’t stop listening . One of my favorites from the series. I really enjoyed the narration. Dual POV is always a win for me. The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. If you are a Notting Hill fan you are going to love it.

Part of the Falling for Summer series. The Falling of Summer series is a series of seven stand-alone clean romances. All by different authors. They are located on a fictional island of Florida. I believe they all happen concurrently, so it doesn't matter what order you read them in. (Based on the events, I am fairly certain at least five of them are concurrent, so one would assume all seven are.)

Hollywood starlet, Presley James, is hiding after some bad press. It took her two whole days to go crazy in her hotel room. A coffee mishap has her revealing her identity to hot-nerdy-bookstore-guy. But he promises to keep her secret. They begin spending more time together, since Presley is tired of being alone and Briggs is the only person who knows who she is. They start to fall for each other, but know it is a bad idea. She is only on the island temporarily. But they are still drawn to each other.

My favorite part was the whole middle name guessing. I thought early on that it would be Darcy. <spoiler> I was wrong. But I still think Darcy would have been a better fit, since his mother loved romance novels best. </spoiler>

I was looking forward to this one the most, but I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, but I didn't love it, either. I listened to the audiobook and I do think that it may have negatively impacted my opinion. Abigail Reno and Ryan Stone narrate the audiobook. Abigail Reno does a good job. And it isn't that Ryan Stone does a bad job, his voice just wasn't a good fit for Briggs in my opinion. Sometimes when I initially dislike a narrator, I get used to it and it no longer is noticeable. But until the very end, this one still felt off.

I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

A-freaking-dorable!

Briggs and Presely are so stinking sweet together! This entire book was a nice, sweet, adorable read.

One hiding from her agent/paparazzi and the other hiding from a failed start up, these two are in for the summer of their lives! Briggs and Presely's summer list is a sweet adventure.

One Happy Summer is an adorable, fun summer romance.

The summer vibes in this book were immaculate. I loved all the summer activities. I'll have to add some to my list for next summer! I enjoyed the celebrity romance and how the author wrote it.

Briggs and Presley were adorable. I liked their chemistry and their banter, especially the guessing of the middle name, so cute! I thought a lot of the book was really romantic and definitely made me swoon. There's a lot of kissing in this one too!

Narrators did wonderfully. I liked how they embodied the characters and brought the story to life.

A great summer romance, perfect for reading & listening on the beach!

This story is a nod to Nottinghill. It follows a similar plot line. Actress escaping from scandal runs into local man who works at a book shop. There are several mentions of the movie within the book. Clean romance.

One happy summer indeed! The Falling for Summer series has been a wonderful part of my summer, and I was happy to return to Sunset Harbor. Presley and Briggs' story is perfect for anyone who enjoys celebrity romance, small town settings, and a golden retriever-type hero. Though I overall enjoyed this story and am glad I read it, I found the dialogue between the two main characters pretty awkward, to the point that I had difficulty buying into their connection. The female narrator nailed Presley's character, but I found the male narrator a little low energy and almost like he was mumbling at times.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for gifting me with an ALC to review. All opinions are my own.

I'm afraid this was a Did-Not-Finish for me. I was looking forward to lots of vicarious fun while he gives her a summer of beach town fun and something memorable. I was quickly disappointed because there were no stakes. If you want us to believe that the characters are intelligent and emotionally mature, you can't have two attractive single people feel instant attraction to each other, then decide in separate little self-monologues that they must not fall for the other.... why exactly? Makes them completely unbelievable. Thirtyish people generally respond to attraction by being intentional about getting to know each other to see if there may be a relationship.
Then they build a sand castle and he dumps water all over her, this is supposedly cute or whatever, Not saying it wouldn't be fun to do that, just it was too unimaginative for me, Sorry.

Presley and Briggs are so sweet and this novel follows their summer in Sunset Harbor which they both think will be temporary, both their relationship and their time on the island. Presley is a Hollywood actress who needs a break from the spotlight after a viral video causes some bad PR. I loved all the fun characters at Sunset Harbor again. The audiobook is dual narrators for the dual POV and that's why favorite organization for a rom com.

Thank you Dreamscape media and Netgalley for the ALC.

Wow. This is my first Becky Monson book, and I can definitely say it didn't disappoint, and it will not be my last!! Her writing and storytelling reminds me of Katherine Center. I was so very pleasantly surprised that this was a clean rom-com! Loved the multiple POVs as well. If ever there was a golden retriever, it would be Briggs- his nerdy but sensitive and sweet character was perfection. Briggs paired with Presley's bubbly energy was just an infectious combination that made this just the most adorable read! 4.5 stars (rounded up) Excited to dive into another of her books!

This was a lovely, sweet romance set in the town of Sunset Harbor. This is the second book I've listened to in the Falling For Summer series and probably my last beachy read this summer.

I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. I would recommend it for a lover of celebrity, small town romances who wants an easy audiobook to listen to with no spice or heavy content.

The main characters were both kind of timid and awkward with each other and I love a confident lead in my novels. I did love the summer activities they did together and the side characters were charming.

This will be perfect for some people, but it was middle of the road for me. 3 stars!

One Happy Summer is the 6th book (out of 7) in the Falling for Summer series, which is a set of interconnected yet standalone books series. Although I have all of the others loaded in my Kindle, this was actually the first one that I read and I was hooked from the beginning! I actually listened to the audio version and the narrators were fantastic, adding a great element to the dual POVs. The plot closely follows a "Notting Hill" movie-type pattern, which only adds to the cute factor. The spice level is closed door with descriptions of kissing (tongue) and a couple of instances of swearing. I absolutely loved this book and listened to it in one sitting. 4.5/5 stars! *I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author/publishing company in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Love! Love! Love! It was a cozy read, with interesting characters and a sweet friendship and love that was perfection. The whole series is top notch but this is in contention for my favorite

Sweet romcom with a notting hill plot- yes please! I have loved this whole series and this was the last book for me to read. I listened to the audio and really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this one and the whole series! I’m sad to be done but I can always reread them next summer

This was a fun read. The story is based around a celebrity that has never had a “fun summer” before as her life has just been completely engulfed in being a celebrity. She doesn’t have freedoms with even her family who will sell her out to the tabloids. Then she meets the cute bookstore owner, Briggs. He introduces her to the best summer of her life that she doesn’t want to end. This book was adorable.
Thank you NetGalley, publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

“Oh man. I totally get why Julia Roberts's character kissed the nerdy-cute bookstore owner in Notting Hill.
This kiss is everything.”

One Happy Summer is the first book I have read by Becky Monson. It is book six in the Falling for Summer series. I have not read the previous books. Briggs is currently working at his mom’s bookshop on Sunset Harbor Island while he figures out what to do with his life since his company startup failed. When a gorgeous woman walks into the bookstore needing a book and a distraction, he has no idea she’s an A-list actress. They hit it off quite well and he decides to play island host while she’s here. Presley James the A-list celebrity who has potentially made the most fatal mistake for her career yet. After a viral video is leaked that could make her lose all of her upcoming roles, the only solution is to go into hiding until the whirlwind dies down. Briggs and Presley were a lot of fun, but the pages where it was just one or the other were slow and the characters seemed unlikeable, maybe if the previous books were read it might have brought more life into the characters. This book was a nod to the classic romcom Notting Hill, but unfortunately, the writing style was not my favorite and I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgaley for the opportunity.

My first read by Becky Monson and my last book of the Falling for Summer series…a happy and bittersweet moment!

Falling for Summer has been my reading/listening guilty pleasure for the last couple of months. I have thoroughly enjoy each story and couple immensely! And Briggs and Presley swept me off of my feet! Such a sweet and organic romance. They were adorable with their Notting Hill meet cute. Loved how Briggs wanted to give Presley a “one”derful happy summer to remember.

The narration for this book gave me a big smile. I am so happy to have dual narration and the voice actors did amazing!

Thank you Dreamscape and NetGalley for the advance listening copy, all opinions are my own.

I’m sure others will like this book, but it’s not for me. It’s too introspective with too little action. The audiobook narration was well done.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from Netgalley and Dreamscape Media so I can leave my voluntary review.

This book was sweet for the most part. A very quick read which is a clean romance. It’s a hallmark movie type story for sure.

Have not read any of the other books in the series but possibly will if I need a fluffy filler romance.

I’m reviewing the audio book which was fine. I enjoyed the female narrator but personally didn’t enjoy the male. But that’s just my opinion he didn’t do anything particularly wrong. I will say that o had to speed it up just to comfortably listen to it. The narration pace is painfully slow as recorded.

The part I didn’t enjoy was the trope where people could rectify the situation easily with a phone but they don’t. It just seems like a cop-out

This book was just released so you can grab it now. It is a good summer read so it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t released to the end when most are getting into their cozy autumnal reading.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

Presley James is a famous actress and she has a blow up that gets recorded and goes viral. She goes to hide out at Sunset Harbor thanks to Noah Belacourt. She meets Briggs Dalton working at his mom’s book store. When Presley says she’s never had a good summer because she’s always been working on her career. Briggs is set to show her a good summer with all the typical beachy summer activities!

The book referenced Notting Hill frequently and I haven’t seen it. But after chatting with a book buddy, I was told this book follows that story line pretty well. I will need to check it out someday!

The characters were super cute! Briggs was quirky and adorable. Presley is America’s Sweetheart despite her freak out. I loved their chemistry and their banter. Presley’s constant guessing of Briggs’ middle name cracked me up multiple times!

This is the last book in the series for me (I know I read them way out of order!) and I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t really feel like I was back in Sunset Harbor one last time. Presley trying to hide from paparazzi made it so they didn’t really interact with any of the characters from the island and Briggs had just recently returned to the island and seemed like kind of a loner. It was a very cute book though!

I listened to the audio for this book and it was dual narrated by Abigail Reno and Ryan Stone. I’m not sure if I’ve listened to a book narrated by Ryan Stone but I really loved his narrating! He was perfect for Briggs!

This book has been out for a bit and the audiobook released on Sept 3rd. Thank you to Becky Munson, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
