My first read by Becky Monson and my last book of the Falling for Summer series…a happy and bittersweet moment!
Falling for Summer has been my reading/listening guilty pleasure for the last couple of months. I have thoroughly enjoy each story and couple immensely! And Briggs and Presley swept me off of my feet! Such a sweet and organic romance. They were adorable with their Notting Hill meet cute. Loved how Briggs wanted to give Presley a “one”derful happy summer to remember.
The narration for this book gave me a big smile. I am so happy to have dual narration and the voice actors did amazing!
Thank you Dreamscape and NetGalley for the advance listening copy, all opinions are my own.
I’m sure others will like this book, but it’s not for me. It’s too introspective with too little action. The audiobook narration was well done.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from Netgalley and Dreamscape Media so I can leave my voluntary review.
This book was sweet for the most part. A very quick read which is a clean romance. It’s a hallmark movie type story for sure.
Have not read any of the other books in the series but possibly will if I need a fluffy filler romance.
I’m reviewing the audio book which was fine. I enjoyed the female narrator but personally didn’t enjoy the male. But that’s just my opinion he didn’t do anything particularly wrong. I will say that o had to speed it up just to comfortably listen to it. The narration pace is painfully slow as recorded.
The part I didn’t enjoy was the trope where people could rectify the situation easily with a phone but they don’t. It just seems like a cop-out
This book was just released so you can grab it now. It is a good summer read so it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t released to the end when most are getting into their cozy autumnal reading.
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again
Presley James is a famous actress and she has a blow up that gets recorded and goes viral. She goes to hide out at Sunset Harbor thanks to Noah Belacourt. She meets Briggs Dalton working at his mom’s book store. When Presley says she’s never had a good summer because she’s always been working on her career. Briggs is set to show her a good summer with all the typical beachy summer activities!
The book referenced Notting Hill frequently and I haven’t seen it. But after chatting with a book buddy, I was told this book follows that story line pretty well. I will need to check it out someday!
The characters were super cute! Briggs was quirky and adorable. Presley is America’s Sweetheart despite her freak out. I loved their chemistry and their banter. Presley’s constant guessing of Briggs’ middle name cracked me up multiple times!
This is the last book in the series for me (I know I read them way out of order!) and I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t really feel like I was back in Sunset Harbor one last time. Presley trying to hide from paparazzi made it so they didn’t really interact with any of the characters from the island and Briggs had just recently returned to the island and seemed like kind of a loner. It was a very cute book though!
I listened to the audio for this book and it was dual narrated by Abigail Reno and Ryan Stone. I’m not sure if I’ve listened to a book narrated by Ryan Stone but I really loved his narrating! He was perfect for Briggs!
This book has been out for a bit and the audiobook released on Sept 3rd. Thank you to Becky Munson, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
I’ve LOVED the stories from the Falling for Summer Series and One Happy Summer was a fun addition to the series!
Presley James, America’s Sweetheart and famous actress had a moment of frustration and regret that unfortunately went viral. She’s come to Sunset Harbor to unplug and hide until the media find someone else to focus their attention on.
Briggs Dalton is home running his mom’s bookstore after the disappointment of his technology company not working out as planned. While he regroups he runs into Presley and an unlikely friendship forms.
Presley has never been able to enjoy a normal fun summer and Briggs is determined to let her experience all the things she’s missed out on, all while keeping her identity protected.
I loved watching Presley and Briggs form such an unlikely friendship while both were trying to sort through what felt like the mess of their situations.
We were able to see some of Briggs’ family dynamics and it was fun to have his mom and sister a part of keeping Presley protected.
Some of their Summer Activities:
Jumping on the Trampoline
Building a Sand castle
S’mores
Boating and tubing
Dolphins
Beach Volleyball
Outside movie
Snorkeling
Bike ride
Sleeping under the stars
My favorite part is when Briggs helped Presley run lines for her upcoming movie and they kept practicing the kissing scene to make sure they got it right!
Looking for a fun series with characters you’ll love, grab the Falling for Summer series including One Happy Summer!
Romance content: Just Kissing!
Cute summer romance. We got to see more of the island and its residents. Cameos from MCs from the books in the series. There were summer plans from Briggs to Presley to experience a summer and a middle name guessing game that was way too cute.
This romance was classic and sweet, a nice summer read. The problems were pretty small and straightforward, and I enjoyed it within the context of the rest of the Sunset Harbor series.
I was hoping for a bit more vengeance (the mother and publicist and shitty not-a-boyfriend all just slide off into the sunset?) but for a short cute read, I shouldn’t be mad about it.
3.5 stars, very glad that I read it.
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I am so happy to be back in Sunset Harbor, this time with Presley, world famous actor, and Briggs, who currently works at his mom’s bookstore. I have to tell you I just LOVE this little town and the Falling for Summer series so much 💕
Presley had a potentially career destroying meltdown that went viral and decided to hide out in Sunset Harbor until it’s old news. Briggs decides to give her a tour of the island and their “summermance” soon begins.
💕 Loved:
• His middle name guessing
• Mention of one of my fav authors, Sarah Adams
💔 Didn’t Love:
• Presley might cry a little too much for my liking
• The male narrator’s voice took me a while to get used to
Overall this was another cozy comfy summer read that I consumed super fast and just loved! 4.5 stars
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Nice, fluffy, fast paced love story. This may be a weird takeaway from this book, but my favorite part is the fact that neither of them dropped everything in their lives to be together. They continued being who they were as individuals and figured it out as a couple.
This was a really fun dual POV, small town romance between a celebrity hiding out from the paparazzi and a bookish guy stuck wondering what he wants to do with his life while working temporarily at his mother's bookstore. A perfect Notting Hill remix that was great on audio and a perfect way to end the Falling for summer series. This was definitely a standout in the series for me! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Steam level: kissing only
I was impatiently waiting for this audio to drop, and it was worth the wait! Thanks to Dreamscape Media LLC for the gifted ALC of this one! These are my honest thoughts.
After working my way through the Falling for Summer series all summer long, I was eager to listen to the final installment, One Happy Summer, featuring the runaway actress Presley James and the bookstore employee Briggs.
I instantly loved the bookstore environment and Presley picking up books by some of my favorite authors, Sarah Adams' The Rule Book and Ali Hazelwood's The Love Hypothesis! Briggs shares his fake thoughts on the books, because he hasn't read them yet, and that's the beginning of the Presley and Briggs friendship.
I loved that Briggs wants to give Presley her first "summer," with all the childhood memories they can make happen on the island. I loved the adventures and all the time Briggs put into being someone who is present for Presley. I LOVED all of the Knotting Hill references, so much!
Dare I say, this is going to end up being my favorite Falling for Summer book? There was less of the other characters in this one, compared to the rest. But it just felt so genuine and sweet! Plus I love a celebrity/normal person romance, and I loved that Briggs wasn't caught up in Presley's fame at all.
Five stars. Out now, audio out Sept 3, 2024!
