Thirty-four-year-old Lauren has a list for everything, especially Christmas. She is super organized and will pass on going out with friends to do things on her list. Everything has to be perfect. After er last relationship ended badly, she is not looking for romance, but when "hot shop guy" brings his little girl into the store where she works to purchase a gift for her mother, she notices him immediately. They run into each other again at the Gingerbread House competition, then he splashes her as she walks down the street and offers her a ride home. It turns out he is divorced and has a young daughter staying with him over the holidays. Lauren is interested, but has lots on her plate. With her father having to have heart surgery and planning the Christmas Ever party for the pensioners, she is very busy. On the day of the party, Lauren shows up at the Village Community Hall, but Kian is there as well. They have both booked the hall, her for the pensioners lunch and party, he for his daugher, Bella's birthday party. How is this going to work? Will Lauren and Kian ever act on the feelings they seem to have for one another?

The Village Christmas Party was such a fun, festive story. I loved Lauren so much. She was truly a delight. Not only was she busy taking care of all the details for the pensioner's party, but she was amazing at her job, often diffusing situations, she is a wonderful friend to Gemma, her new friend Audrey and even her neighbour, who is a widow. Her parents are divorced, but she is a great daughter to both of them. She supports her mom all the time and when her dad has his heart scare, she is there for him as well. The only times I was frustrated with her was when she seemed oblivious to her own feelings and Kian's. Kian was definitely swoon worthy. He was great with his daughter, Bella and made everyone he spoke to feel important. I was rooting for him to get Lauren to see the real him and take a chance. This book is full of family, friendship, Festive events, learning what is important in our lives, new beginnings and romance. I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end. This would make a wonderful Christmas movie, Hallmark style. If you enjoy a Christmas Romance with lots of fun, friendship and family, then I suggest you pick this one up.

What a most enjoyable book to read telling of Lauren’s story and her kind heart to all of the villagers even though she as had and still as problems of her own a must to read

I really loved this book, I couldn't put it down. Lauren is superorganised and organises a village party. All her hopes and wishes for the perfect party come crashing down around her when Kian waltzes into the village hall claiming he has booked it for his daughters birthday and refuses to cancel plans, understandably.
They compromise and agree to share. A wonderful joint party takes place and the old people love having the children around and they take part in joint games.

A lovely heartwarming read, perfect for the festive season. You could just imagine the disaster turning into a success and feel the warmth between the party goers.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from Netgalley. This was an enjoyable festive read, although not my favourite of the genre. I enjoyed Kian and Gemma, but, while I did not dislike her, I found Lauren a bit sanctimonious. That said, I liked her relationships with the people around her, and I was invested in her budding relationship with Kian. The setting was beautiful.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. While I liked this book, it wasn't one of my favorites by author Sue Roberts. It felt more like I was reading a journal entry of the main character's life than a story.

The perfect book for this time of year! There’s nothing better than reading about a charming place and time in December and this one is a steaming mug of cocoa with sprinkles on top.

I found The Village Christmas Party to be a moderately engaging read. Although it started off somewhat slowly, it improved around the midpoint. I appreciated it; however, I did not love it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

A lovely festive novel. Lauren is really nice and caring and I enjoyed reading about her Christmas. I feel there could have been more between her and Kian but it was a lovely novel all the same.

Lauren is the type of person who you want on your side, she always gets things organised and every year she arranges the annual Christmas charity party for the older people in the village where she lives. Lauren dislikes unpredictably, she thrives on getting things done well in advance however, this year she discovers, to her dismay, that someone else has also booked the village hall for a birthday party. With her well ordered plans in disarray, Lauren must learn to compromise but that’s not going to be easy especially when she realises just who has booked the village hall.

This is great, feel-good festive read, with some lovely characters, I especially enjoyed getting to know Kian and his delightful daughter, Bella, who help to bring a heartwarming feel to the story. There’s also a strong sense of community and although there are a few ups and downs which test Lauren’s natural inclination to organise everything to the nth degree, I enjoyed watching how she copes with change and in doing so allows a little happiness into her well ordered life.

The Village Christmas Party is a light and easy read, filled with fun, friendship and a smattering of romance, it’s a great read for a quiet afternoon in the run up to Christmas

Yeah! Another very lovely book by Sue Roberts!!! If you love Christmas and Christmas books, let me tell you… you will love this book! It’s Christmas all around! And it’s also about giving your time to people who are lonely and that is beautiful!!! This book was quite different from what usually Sue Robert write about and I really enjoyed that! I can’t wait to read a new book from her! This is a 4 stars book for me!!!

Actors do drastic things to get into character for a role, and book lovers will travel to locations for the perfect mood boost and photo op.
I got fully invested into The Village Christmas Party this week when I was visiting Dallas and went to the biggest Christmas store in Texas. ( and that’s saying a little because everything in Texas is big!) If you are in the area run to Decorates Wherehouse because it is magical! It was the North Pole and a holiday dream all in one place and I felt the best holiday vibes. I was reading this adorable Christmas book in 90* weather and when I went to this store it was like climbing inside the book.
Nothing better than a small town feel good story mixed with romance and the holiday season. I loved the characters and storyline the book is set in London which was the chefs kiss! Sue Robert’s is a very talented author and I know anything she writes I’m going to love! The Village Christmas Party is out now and the perfect book to bring you holiday cheer!

The Village Christmas Party is about a woman named Lauren. She has a very busy life between working in a small shop, helping others where she can, baking and hanging out with friends. One of the biggest events she organizes every year is the pensioners Christmas party on Christmas Eve. There is a lot to organize but Lauren is meticulous with her lists so nothing gets missed. Lauren is meticulous about most things in life actually. Often turning down plans with friends so she can check items off her lists.

When Lauren shows up Christmas Eve for the pensioners party she is shocked to find that the community centre has been double booked by this hot guy she's been spotting around town. He's planning a birthday party for his 7 year old daughter and sees nothing wrong with mixing the seniors and children's parties. This is certainly not on Lauren's checklists but hot guy seems quite certain nothing can go wrong.

The Village Christmas Party is a bit of a slower paced novel with not much action. But it is a lovely story and gives me the Hallmark vibe I was looking for with a previous book. It is a quick read with a happy ending.

This is one of my favorites of 2024! It’s such a wonderful pick-me-up in these times of constant fear and sadness. I couldn’t put it down. It’s about so much more than the holiday party, with a lovable cast! Now is the perfect time to read a #HolidayRomance & this one will make you feel all the warmth it gives.

Thank you, Sue Roberts, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

We have quite a few birthdays towards the end of September and beginning of October, and it is only after we get past those that I start to think about Christmas. I have a feeling that Lauren, the main character from this book would be horrified that I leave it that late. After all, she has lists for her lists and she needs them as she is very actively involved in her local community.

Every year Lauren is one of the hosts for a Christmas party at the local hall. Anyone who would otherwise be at home by themselves is invited for a lovely Christmas roast with all the trimmings and some good company.

Everything is going to plan for this year, until she finds out that there is an issue with the booking, and now the hall is booked for a seven year olds birthday party. Kian, the dad, is insistent that the birthday party must go ahead in the hall, and Lauren is equally adamant that she has the right to use the hall. It soon becomes clear that the only option is to share so there is a hall full of pensioners and 7 year olds. What could go wrong? And can Lauren resist the handsome Kian?

We like a good list but we don't let them rule our lives like Lauren does at the beginning of the book, and she seems to be finding it exhausting as well. Little by little Lauren is becoming a little less rigid, a little more spontaneous.

While I like the story, it was a little simpler than some of the other books I have read recently. There's a couple of subplots that help but mostly I was left looking for more from the writing. Things picked up in the second half of the book.

When I was offered this book I jumped at the opportunity because I thought I had read Sue Thomas before and the cover is super cute. When I was reading the book, I found myself wondering if I had actually done so. It turns out I own at least 5 books by Sue Roberts, so there is no doubt that I have thought she sounds like my kind of author. At least I know now what to expect when I do get to read one of those books.

Christmas is coming and there's lot Lauren has to do,
Especially organising the party for older villagers to come to!
Her job still needs doing, presents wrapped and volunteers sorted
But then someone else arrives - will her plans be thwarted?

A story of Lauren and the villagers where she resides
Her parents, neighbours, friends and lots of others besides.
With family dramas, friendship and someone she meets by chance
When they keep on meeting, could this lead her to romance?

Lauren is so caring, helping others where she can
But what will happen when things don't go to plan?
Spilt drinks, getting soaked, snow and children, too,
And unexpected worries when unexpected people come in to view!

A fun read with a special person at its heart
Showing how important she is in taking part.
Bringing people together, sharing in the fun,
Working hard and making sure everything gets done!

A heartwarming festive read and great community spirit, too,
A delightful read I don't hesitate to highly recommend to you.
For my copy of this brilliant book I say a huge thank you
As I share with you this, my honest review.
