I devoured this book, I just loved everything about it. It covers love, loss, loneliness, friendship and of course Christmas joy.
I wish I could go back into this book and read it again without knowing what happens. Huge 5 stars from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I just loved this book as it was so heartwarming and Christmassy and it was a wonderful story with amazing characters. I just wish I could live there too.

I would highly recommend reading this book if you like a Christmas book with a good story and that is heartwarming as well with amazing characters.

I would like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.

Not sure the title fits the story and for that reason I felt a little disappointed that it wasn't what I was expecting. It's not a bad book but it was a bit underwhelming.

The Village Christmas Party is a comfortable and cozy slice of life book to read rugged up on the couch. This is perfect for Hallmark Christmas movie lovers or those wanting to get into the holiday spirit.

It is short, slow, and simple, centring around community and generosity. The romance plot line kicks off around the halfway point, so you spend a lot of time getting to know Lauren.

In my view, a lot of the dialogue could have been cut in the drafting process, but I guess it lends itself to the overall experience of this novel.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This author can always be relied upon to start off the Christmas cheer with their festive themed reads. This was another fun filled, uplifting and entertaining read with a great community and heartwarming feel. Would be perfect to read on a winters eve while curled up with a mug of something warm and cosy.

A very enjoyable well written story . A warming tale centred around a small town in the Lake District and the kind hearted Lauren and the local community she volunteers to help those who are lonely or give help to those from young to very old.in her spare time when she’s not working in the upmarket department store in town . This is a tale of small town quirky characters showing even a kind word or gesture can improve someones day. The setting is beautiful centred round the pensioners village Christmas lunch run by volunteers. It’s show no matter how well organised things can and do go wrong and in life things are not always as they appear to be. A wonderful winter read to curl up on the sofa with hot chocolate to enjoy ultimately feel good read. 4.5:/5

I received a free copy of, The Village Christmas Party, by Sue Roberts, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Lauren runs a holiday party every Christmas, but this year is not plans are not running as smoothly as previous years, when she finds she did not book the hall, and their is another event going on. This was a sweet holiday read, a little slow to start though.

A nice festive read. The characters didn’t have much depth so it was difficult to get absorbed but it was a nice read full of Christmas cheer

My first Christmas book of the season, and how Christmassy does this one sound! I was drawn instantly to this book with it's very pretty cover and loved the way it looked! We meet Lauren who is in charge of organising the Christmas Party for the older residents of the village. She's loves Christmas and has everything meticulously planned, but when she finds the village hall has been double booked by single dad, Kian, it throws everything into disarray!

This was a very seasonal read, and will be absolutely perfect for those long winter nights! Lauren is a lovely character and very easy to connect with. She's definitely the epitome of Miss Claus and has everything for Christmas organised down to the last piece of tinsel! I liked the storyline and loved the idea of a Christmas party for all the village oldies!! Kian is also a very likeable character, if not just for his devilishly good looks and charming personality! I loved the banter between him and Lauren and as the storyline moved on, the chemistry between them built more and more. The storyline did start a little slow, but as we get into the excitement (and arguments!) of the double booked party the storyline's pace picked up and I found myself hooked into Lauren and Kian's stories.

If you're looking for a light-hearted festive story, then this is the one for you! It's very easy to read and is full of fun, family, friends and romance, definitely everything you'd need for settling down for an afternoon of Christmas reading! The author has done a great job of making you feel like you're part of the story and I certainly wanted to be at the Christmas party with them all! If this doesn't make you crack open the mulled wine and the mince pies, I don't know what will!! Would recommend!

I have a lot of mixed feelings on this book. I always love a good Christmas "Hallmark story" book which this one definitely is. The story part was good, and I liked a lot of the characters. The downside for me was the writing. It was very slow to start, and the writing felt very simple. For the first part of the book, I really felt like I was just reading the main character's (Lauren) diary of her every day life. So while this was a cute story and a quick read, it was just okay for me.

Thank you Bookouture for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

First of all thank you for approving my request!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.

I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

I loved everything about this book, from Lauren, who reminds us that all the little moments of kindness really add up, to Kian, who is a single dad that always puts his daughter's needs first, and all of the supporting cast of characters between. It's awash in Christmas spirit, makes you feel like you're right there with them in the village, and inspires the reader to set off on their own journey of spreading holiday cheer!

I much preferred the second half of this book to the first and this initially to be a bit slow going. That being said once the double booked party was in full swing, I enjoyed immensely watching the drama unfold between Lauren and Kian.

Lots of fun and laughter in this book and an easy Christmas feel for sure.

Nice wholesome Christmas spirit and community feel.

A real page turner. I found the characters lovely and was fascinated by their lives and the way they all helped each other. Lauren was a great character and so very busy trying to manage the organisation of the annual Christmas party. It was such a heartwarming idea to have a party for the older and lonely residents of the village. Full of twists and turners with a touch of romance and the interaction with the older residents and the kids was really funny at times. A great story which warms your heart.

I enjoyed this one for the most part. The story of a woman who is in charge of putting together an annual Christmas Eve party for the local seniors. After breaking up with her fiance the previous year, she finds herself running into a new guy several times and then finds out the day before that her party venue was double booked, throwing them together. A few parts irked me with being overly focused on and then sped through. But overall a nice story.

The Village Christmas Party is everything I hoped it would be and more. I adore Sue Robert’s and her books to begin with so I knew I was in for a real treat! I could relate to main character Lauren and her lists for everything! I’m guilty I admit. I love how she dedicates helping the older community by making sure they have somewhere to go for the holidays.

smell of mulled wine fills the air as the villagers listen to carollers singing. Everyone in town is ready for the big day. But Lauren only has hours to get the community Christmas party back on track…

Thirty-four-year-old Lauren has a list for everything, especially Christmas. With her presents bought months in advance, the last thing on her checklist is the charity party she runs every year. It has to be perfect – she has seen how much the event means to the older villagers who would be alone for the holidays otherwise.
Of course not holiday story is without a handsome love interest. In this book we meet Kian who accidentally has the venue booked for his own daughters party…yikes!!!
I love how the work together although not without a little clashing to make this work out for everyone! I loved there chemistry. I thought Kian has such an ease to him that really made the book stand out for me. I was laughing, crying, and swooning the whole time and I know potential readers will be as well! The perfect book to cozy up with by the fire and get ready for the holiday season with! Please check out this title if you have the opportunity! You most certainly won’t be disappointed. Thank you Bookouture for the honor. Keep up the beautiful work of bringing great titles to us!
