I loved t but! I am fully invested in this series and the way characters are portrayed. This latest installment was kept me up at nights guessing but coming up with the wrong answers. My only issue was that the last 2 chapters felt rushed and I would have been happy with a little more time spent on a point of view from Abigail. #lovetohateher
This is the Author's 4th book featuring FBI Profiler Laurel Snow and in my opinion it
can be read as a standalone
Women are being brutally murdered across the Pacific Northwest , they all have
one thing in common - a link to Laurel .
Her world is thrown into chaos , someone is setting up her boyfriend , Fish and Wildlife
Captain Huck Rivers , as the murderer; an escaped serial killer is on the loose ; her father is in town ;
and her sociopathic sister is getting under her skin yet again......... this all seems personal to Laurel
just who is out to get them ? She needs to concentrate on solving the murders and clearing Huck
and hope she can get her family out of her life once and for all (fat chance of that)
This is another well written murder/mystery , fast paced , full of twists and turns and with just the right
amount of romance to keep a reader satisfied - another great read
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
4 stars
The fourth book in the Laurel Snow series, Rebecca Zanetti delivers another exciting ride as genius FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow goes on the hunt for a new killer… this one hitting close to home.
Women are being brutally murdered in the Pacific Northwest, and Laurel Snow is on the case. But in a chilling twist, the identities of the deceased women have a connection to Laurel, and her loved ones are being targeted. And with most of her team out of town, an escaped killer on the loose, her father back in town, her sociopathic sister hanging around, and her boyfriend, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, being set-up as the killer, there’s a personal edge to this one. It's another exciting ride, written primarily from the POV of neurodivergent genius, Laurel, and I loved being inside her head as she hunts down the killer.
By her side, as always, is Huck, and the two of them are so good together. Despite their differences, and Huck’s overprotective tendencies, they are equals in every way, they respect each other deeply and rely on each other’s skills, and they’re a great professional team. Personally, they are together, happy and figuring out their future. It’s not all uber-romantic and swoony, but their relationship is strong (and a little bit sexy), and they are wonderfully functional. The romance is definitely in the background though.
This series is definitely mystery/suspense/thriller, and this one kept me guessing all the way through. It’s exciting and mysterious, and the ending had me madly flipping pages, with lots of twists and surprises that had my heart racing.
Though each book in this series sees Laurel working on a different case, there is some significant relationship development and build-up with side characters through the series, so I would suggest reading these ones in order.
This is a great read.
4 stars.

I was excited to start the fourth book in the Laurel Snow series, and it did not disappoint. As I found the other books in the set to be, this was a well-paced and well-plotted book. The series premises has Laurel, a FBI agent who specializes in serial killers, returning to her hometown and setting up a satellite office. Each book features a new case, with an arc involving her previously unknown half-sister and father. There is also a romance arc between her and a Fish & Wildlife tracker/agent.m, Huck.
One thing that separates this one from its predecessors is the romance between Laurel & Huck is on firm ground. It was less tenuous. Neither expected to find someone that would be a long term partner. Neither had thought that they were capable of that commitment or were particularly interested in finding someone. This book has them admitting that they want there relationship to last and planning for a future. That doesn’t mean there is not tension or interest in the romance, but it’s less will they/won’t they and more how do they navigate challenges together.
Another difference is the main case moves closer to personal connections for both Laurel and Huck. It certainly feels like it moved toward the ultimate (presumed) conclusion of the series. I enjoyed the story and look forward to more.
<i>Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this story. Views are my own.
This series has been a surprise at every turn and I love it! In book four, Laurel and Huck are up to their eyeballs in bodies and questions, with Abigail up to her usual shenanigans. There are a lot of problems they have to overcome and Ms. Zanetti is a champion at resolving them in a believable manner. It's scary to think there are really people out there like Abigail, Zeke and Jason. I look forward to the next book and the continuing development of Laurel and Huck's relationship. Ms. Zanetti is one of my favorite authors and I love all her different series across several genres. Highly recommended.

This series just gets better and better! Special Agent Laurel Snow and Captain Huck Rivers are two of my absolute favorites. I am so happy to have read this new installment, but now the wait for the next one is on! Five thrilling stars for this page-turner.
Jason Abbott has escaped from prison and women are dying. Coincidence? That's what Special Agent Laurel Snow is tasked with finding out in the 4th book in this amazing series. Captain Rivers is there to investigate the case with her, but there are a lot of personal connections in this one. Of course, Laurel's sister, Abigail Caine, is also there to step in where she is very much not needed.
I have a lot to say about this one, but I will be giving away too much. Huck and Laurel's relationship continues to progress, and her sister is still trying to develop a relationship with her. Laurel's team is of course there for her, but they are dealing with their own issues in this installment. My advice to you when you start this one is: buckle up - it is a bumpy ride!
I am so excited to see where this series goes next. Some things for Laurel and Huck have changed for them by the end of this one, and it broke my heart. But they are determined to move forward. I absolutely adore them.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the opportunity to read this one! I highly recommend this whole series. This one is out now!
I'd like to thank Netgalley and Kensington Publishing | Zebra for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't realize this book was in a series but I was able to read it as a stand alone. I really did like it though so I should probably pick up the first three.
I love suspense and thriller books! This one has so many twists and so many serial killers! Also, throw in a little romance. Laurel is an FBI agent in the Pacific Northwest who is faced with 3 murders to solve. Along with her boyfriend, Huck who's a Fishing and Games officer. I love the relationship between these two. With the return of Laurel's biological father and her certifiable sister there is a lot going on in this book, which adds to the suspense.
Great read!
I love this series. Laurel and Huck go through a lot and their relationship is growing stronger. Laurel is brilliant and not your standard character. Huck is down-to-earth and someone who can be relied on.
Another good book in this series. You get to see her Dad and sister finally brought to justice but not without Laurel and Hank paying a high price as they solve another series of murders. I love this series.
I’ve read many books by this author, but I hadn’t picked up her Laurel Snow Thriller series yet. While I prefer this author’s paranormal romance, this was a solid thriller with some romance. There are a lot of twists and a serial killer to track down. Overall, a decent and quick read.
FBI agent Laurel Snow and boyfriend, Fish and Wildlife Captain, Huck Rivers, along with both departments, work diligently to find the person responsible for the murders of 3 women. The scenes were so descriptive that I could feel the cold of the Pacific Northwest in the dead of winter. The characters were so well described that I felt as if I knew them. The story moved along quickly until the exciting climax. #NetGalley #YouCanKill
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
Rebecca Zanetti’s You Can Kill is the fourth installment in the Laurel Snow Thriller series, and it delivers a gripping, edge-of-your-seat experience that fans of the genre will relish. Set against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, this novel intertwines brutal murders with deeply personal stakes, creating a narrative that is both thrilling and emotionally resonant.
The story follows FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow, a rising star profiler, as she is drawn into a series of gruesome murders. Each victim is connected to past cases Laurel has investigated, adding layers of complexity and danger to her mission. The stakes are raised when friends and loved ones become targets, making the hunt for the killer intensely personal. Laurel teams up with Huck Rivers, a Washington Fish and Wildlife captain, to navigate the chillingly bizarre killings.
Zanetti excels in crafting multi-dimensional characters. Laurel Snow is a compelling protagonist whose sharp analytical skills and emotional depth make her a standout in the thriller genre. Huck Rivers provides a perfect counterbalance with his gut instincts and unwavering support. The dynamic between Laurel and Abigail adds a fascinating psychological layer to the story, exploring themes of family, loyalty, and inherited trauma.
Zanetti’s writing is taut and immersive, with a pace that keeps readers hooked from the first page to the last. Her ability to blend suspense with emotional depth is particularly noteworthy. The vivid descriptions of the Pacific Northwest enhance the atmospheric tension, making the setting almost a character in its own right.
You Can Kill delves into the darkness of the human psyche, exploring how past traumas and familial bonds shape our present. The novel also examines the fine line between protection and control, as seen in Abigail’s complex relationship with Laurel. The recurring theme of survival against impossible odds underscores the resilience of Zanetti’s characters.
You Can Kill is a masterful addition to the Laurel Snow Thriller series. Rebecca Zanetti has crafted a story that is as thought-provoking as it is thrilling, with characters that linger in your mind long after the final page.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or new to Zanetti’s work, this novel is a must-read for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted thriller with heart.
You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti
Laurel Snow series
You definitely don't want to move to Genesis Valley. Although I'm pretty sure all the bad things happen because of people in Special Agent Laurel Snows life. Obviously her sister is certifiable and her father is a narcissist and rapist, likely murderer. We're introduced to a bevy of additional people in this book. We get to see the relationship between Laurel and Huck grow stronger. There is a lot going on with new murders eerily similar, but not quite to the Abbottcase. Buckle in, it's a bumpy chaotic ride to find the killer.
A serial killer has emerged and overwhellming evidence points to Huck being the killer. Laurel must use her investigative skills to make sense of the evidence before Huck is charged with murder. Does Huck truly love her or is Laurel one of his next targets? You Can Kill takes twists and turns as the characters' lives intertwine. Highly recommend reading this series.
The best of of this series so far. It e still keep you on your toes figuring out the twists and turns. We'll anyone be safe? Find out by reading this thriller. This book, while still the steamy romance, has less steam and more thriller this go around. It's a great read even when less steam.
Another great addition to this series. I really enjoy reading about Laurel and Huck. This book is close to home for Laurel. There is a new case and many familiar players involved. The ending of this book is hard to read but for me I think this is how it had to happen. If you are loving this series, you will love this book to.
Another page by page thriller. The twists and turns are more than S curves, they are drop zones. We find Huck and Laurel getting closer and meshing in their partnership but there are forces that don't seem to want them together.
The killer is making a mockery of the investigation and is always one step ahead. There are characters that you just want to strangle, but you can't, and then there is levity in stressful situations, e.g., "allegedly".
Brings you to the very end of the book when it explodes with all the answers. It also leaves open a path for the next book. I so, cannot wait! Always a mind blowing read.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I love Laurel and Huck! I especially love Huck’s desire to be left alone but still is a Fish and Wildlife agent that saves lives. In this novel, most of Laurel’s team are elsewhere, so Huck and Laurel must rely more on Fish and Wildlife as opposed to FBI. I still don’t understand Abigail and her motives. Fortunately, Abigail isn’t much at the forefront of this novel. She’s there, obviously, but there is so much more.
To be clear, this is not a standalone novel. This is a series that must be read in order, or readers will be lost. There were only a couple of items in book 4 that bothered me. One person didn’t die, and something specific in the ending. But that ending! Whew. It went a little too quick for my liking, so I sincerely hope that book 5 carries the last bit with some more drag time.
Overall, I rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars.
This is another excellent book in the series. Agent Snow is once again searching for a serial killer while also fighting on other fronts. This book shows a different side of the agent, and it’s more emotional. Huck fights exceptionally well against negative forces that threaten Laurel and have conspired against him as well. It's a great read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley.
This is the first book that I've read in the series but it did not impair my understanding of You Can Kill. It has a good plot and is well-written and it touchs two important subjects - family relationships and church. I liked how Laurel interacts with her team and especially with Huck (her boyfriend), its rather interesting how the author describes her behavior when faced with emotions and quirks that she has difficulty in understanding. This is the sort of story that once you start reading you just want to reach the end to learn how will it work out. Very entertaining!
I thank the author, her publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.
