Another great addition to this series. I really enjoy reading about Laurel and Huck. This book is close to home for Laurel. There is a new case and many familiar players involved. The ending of this book is hard to read but for me I think this is how it had to happen. If you are loving this series, you will love this book to.

Another page by page thriller. The twists and turns are more than S curves, they are drop zones. We find Huck and Laurel getting closer and meshing in their partnership but there are forces that don't seem to want them together.

The killer is making a mockery of the investigation and is always one step ahead. There are characters that you just want to strangle, but you can't, and then there is levity in stressful situations, e.g., "allegedly".

Brings you to the very end of the book when it explodes with all the answers. It also leaves open a path for the next book. I so, cannot wait! Always a mind blowing read.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I love Laurel and Huck! I especially love Huck’s desire to be left alone but still is a Fish and Wildlife agent that saves lives. In this novel, most of Laurel’s team are elsewhere, so Huck and Laurel must rely more on Fish and Wildlife as opposed to FBI. I still don’t understand Abigail and her motives. Fortunately, Abigail isn’t much at the forefront of this novel. She’s there, obviously, but there is so much more.

To be clear, this is not a standalone novel. This is a series that must be read in order, or readers will be lost. There were only a couple of items in book 4 that bothered me. One person didn’t die, and something specific in the ending. But that ending! Whew. It went a little too quick for my liking, so I sincerely hope that book 5 carries the last bit with some more drag time.

Overall, I rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars.

This is another excellent book in the series. Agent Snow is once again searching for a serial killer while also fighting on other fronts. This book shows a different side of the agent, and it’s more emotional. Huck fights exceptionally well against negative forces that threaten Laurel and have conspired against him as well. It's a great read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley.

This is the first book that I've read in the series but it did not impair my understanding of You Can Kill. It has a good plot and is well-written and it touchs two important subjects - family relationships and church. I liked how Laurel interacts with her team and especially with Huck (her boyfriend), its rather interesting how the author describes her behavior when faced with emotions and quirks that she has difficulty in understanding. This is the sort of story that once you start reading you just want to reach the end to learn how will it work out. Very entertaining!
I thank the author, her publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.

This, hands down, is one of my favorite series. Zanetti does a spectacular job of portraying a genius investigator for the FBI's serial killer division.
Laurel Snow is clever, distinctive, determined, and awkward all rolled into one.
Once again, Laurel finds herself investigating a serial killer in her home area. Assisted by Huck Rivers, a Fish and Game captain and her partner in real life, they finds patterns that link these killings to another serial killing.
Slowly but surely her crew is called away for various reasons and it's up to an isolated Laurel to link these murders to the right killer.
The reappearance of her sperms donor, and the perpetual run-ins with her diabolical and psychopathic sister, cause her undue stress as she tries to reject their familiarity and maintain her separation.
If you love twists, and at the core a wonderful love story then you should read this series.
Zanetti's characters are realistic. The side characters are well done and are a great support system for the main storyline.
Thank you to NetGalley and Zebra books for this ARC. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I'm not even sure where to begin however, WOW! This is the 4th book in the Laurel Snow series and I have to say each book is better than the previous one! I am not going to go into what specifically happens in the story because I do not like to give away spoilers however, there were so many twists and turns in this book that I was kept guessing the entire time! I absolutely love Laurel and Huck, they make a perfect couple. The things that they had to overcome in this book is just heart-wrenching. The story was written with excellent detail, phenomenal characters, and the perfect mixture of romance, mystery, and suspense. I read the ebook and listened to the audiobook and both versions are phenomenal! The narrator did a phenomenal job bringing the book to life. Rebecca Zanetti is such a gifted writer, and I am ready for more in this series. Offhand, I don't recall if there will be more books in this series but I certainly hope there will. My suggestion would be to read all four books because I have no doubt that most people will love the stories! I highly recommend any book written by this author!

I don’t know what Rebecca Zanetti put in the Laurel Snow series but every book gets more and more addicting!

You Can Kill picks up where You Can Die (book 3) leaves off. Without giving too much away, Genesis Valley is again facing one (or maybe two?) serial killers, the victims found face down along frozen water ways. As the case gets more personal (especially to those around her), will Laurel be able to catch this killer before they strike again?

I didn’t know what to expect when I first picked up this series for my local book club, but I’ve since become highly invested in each book. I love how authentic the characters are and I could easily see this book series being adapted into a television series. I never see the twists and turns coming, and gasp out loud at least once while reading.

I will say, this book was the most “romantic” of the series. In the previous three books, I felt “romantic suspense” was a bit of a misnomer since the books were very heavy on the suspense/thriller aspect and very light on the romance. You Can Kill was still very suspense focused, but there was more romance present between Laurel and Huck (not a whole lot but more than before). And while you can *technically* read this as a standalone, I don’t recommend doing so. The characters, situations, and actions that happen in You Can Kill will make more sense after you’ve read books one through three.

While this book was intense in a lot of ways, I highly recommend picking this one up if you’re a fan of the Laurel Snow series or starting from the beginning if you’ve just been introduced. You, too, will get sucked in to the world of Laurel Snow.

Thank you to Netgalley and Zebra Books/Kensington Publishing for the ARC!

Rebecca Zanetti sure knows how to hold a reader’s attention with her fast paced thriller, You Can Kill. We have plenty of victims and plenty of suspects. The more I read, the more both lists grew.

I love dysfunctional characters and serial killers You Can Kill has plenty of both. The deaths are brutal and gruesome, and Laurel Snow is on the case. Her personal life crosses with her professional life, but nothing stops her when it comes to taking down her ‘man’.

Want some breathtaking suspense, some thrills that are sure to offer you a shiver or two, and some mystery that will have you creating your own mystery board, look no further.

I've been hooked since I read the first book in the series and the stories continue to get better and better and murders grislier but most importantly the relationships between Huck and Laurel and Laurel and her mother continue to get deeper and more real.  Let's not forget the psychopathic sister and father on the sidelines looking for every edge to get into the action.
Jason, a murderer from the previous book is on death watch at the local hospital. Unfortunately, he escapes, and Laurel is saved from his vengeance in the nick of time. Even though Laurel is increasingly isolated, as her teammates are taken out of her orbit, she and Huck are on the job investigating the once again growing body count.
So many suspects, so many curved balls, so many twists and turns. Another fascinating episode in this ongoing series.  The best part of the series is the growing romance between Huck and Laurel, they are certainly more than friends with benefits even if that's how it started. Can't wait to see where the series goes next.

Cerebral and Exciting!!

FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow, Huck working in Fish & Wildlife, and his partner Karelian Bear Dog Aeneas have a case to solve. Serial killer Jason Abbott has escaped, and women are being killed again. The MO is different, and there are more suspects.

Laurel is super-intelligent, but not always quick on human interactions. Her half-sister Abigail is super-intelligent, but perhaps a bit psychotic.

Relationships, murder, danger and intrigue, all combine to create a gripping chain of events. Add in a touch of romance, some humor, and you have one of the better romantic suspense stories of the year.

As always Rebecca Zanetti has talent that makes the readers fall in love with her stories and characters. The 4th book of the series takes the reader on a journey that has been playing out for some time. This was a book I could not put down. The whole series is a must read. I would recommend any book written by Rebecca Zanetti. Her talent allows the reader to dive in and not want to come out of the book.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti is a thrilling, fast-paced, romantic-suspense adventure. FBI Agent Laurel Snow and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers must work together to solve another slew of grizzly murders. Laurel is super smart and awkward, Huck is steady but with his own challenges, and together they balance each other out for the better. And while they’re steady, the chaos in their lives is truly next level. I could say more, but don’t want to spoil anything. This book is the 4th in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Holy cow that was amazing! This hits all the feels and keeps on going. The twists are amazing and so unexpected. I couldn't read fast enough. The ending is a jaw dropper and makes you close the book and sit back a minute. I cannot wait for the next one.

Wow, just incredible!! Huck Finn & Laurel Snow just get better & better in each book!! Huck, Laurel & all the other supporting characters are all evolving into stronger, necessary parts to these books & stories. This story keeps you intrigued from page one & you won’t put it down till you’re done!! Abigail is as crazy, psychotic as ever & we were introduced to a new character with psychic powers, it will be interesting to see where that goes. I can’t wait for the next book!!

The killings hit too close to home for a gifted profiler

Laurel Snow is highly intelligent and competent in many other ways, and those talents have made her an extremely successful FBI Special Agent. She is particularly adept in analyzing patterns and behaviors, but is not equally good at reading facial expressions and similar cues and has always found social interactions a bit….complex. Since returning to the Pacific Northwest town where she grew up, Genesis Valley, she has started a Violent Crime Unit based there and has also found herself (much to her surprise) in a serious romantic relationship with Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers. She would actually be quite happy if it weren’t for the fact that Zeke Caine, the sociopath who raped her mother years earlier (which resulted in Laurel’s birth), has returned to the area to continue his charismatic preaching and her equally frightening half-sister Abigail is also living in the vicinity (and is eager to forge a relationship with Laurel). The always logical and pragmatic Laurel wants nothing more than to convict both Zeke and Abigail of at least some of the crimes of which each is guilty, but a new series of killings presents itself and she and her team must focus their efforts on that. Worse still, each victim seems to have some sort of connection to Huck; he is forced to recuse himself from the case and may end up the top suspect. As more of her team and Huck’s are sidelined by vacations, family emergencies and more, Laurel is increasingly isolated….and that may be just what the killer intends.
In this, the fourth in the series, Laurel Snow continues to be an intriguing character, possessing an incredible intellect and working at the top of her field. But at the same time she has always felt at a remove from her peers and as she and Huck move into a new aspect of their relationship Laurel is less than secure about the likelihood of success there. The juxtaposition of her amoral but equally brilliant sister and the sociopath whom she refuses to call her father results in interpersonal relationships which are definitely stressing her out. With a true crime podcasting ex-girlfriend of Huck’s hovering nearby, looking for her next big story and always happy to make trouble for Huck and Laurel, a member of Zeke’s church who swears he is psychic, and the ever present fear that Zeke means harm to Laurel and her mother Deidre, hunting a serial killer may not be the most challenging item confronting Laurel. A briskly paced plot with its share of twists and turns, an assortment of potential villains, and a core group of characters whose lives are firmly interwoven, result in an engaging thriller sure to appeal to readers of Kat Martin, Jayne Ann Krentz and Kay Hooper in addition to those who have read the earlier installments in the series. My thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books/Zebra for allowing me early access to this latest Laurel Snow adventure.

Absorbing and suspenseful crime thriller.

First off, this is the first book and only one I’ve read in the Laurel Snow series so I believe that left me a bit overwhelmed as I tried to get a feel for all the characters that surely were much more familiar to those fans who have read the previous installments from the beginning. That said, I still enjoyed the story and managed to figure out the good guys from the bad pretty quickly.

I liked the writing style and the pace though I could happily have not had to read the on page sex scenes. I don’t like them in any of my books, so generally I just skip right on past. The action and the plot moved right along with few surprises along the way though I was eager for justice to be served and the bad guys to pay. If you like this type of mystery with a strong and unusual female main character then you will probably want to check out this series. It’s not likely that I will go back and read from the beginning, but I’ll definitely be tempted to read the fifth installment to see how Laurel and Huck pick up the pieces after the events at the conclusion. Can’t see how much more mileage they can get out of the sister, Abigail, so I guess will wait and see.

I was able to listen to the audiobook while also following along in the e-book ARC provided by the publisher. I liked the narrator’s voice for the female characters with her tone and accents, but honestly, having a male voice for the many different men in the story would have definitely improved the sound recording and enhanced the production. The men’s voices all sounded the same and not very masculine.

I’d give this a solid 3.5 stars that I rounded up to 4 because I do think I would have liked it even more had I read the first three books.

Laurel and Huck are facing a new challenge and a gruesome trail of murder.

SAIC Laurel Snow may be a child prodigy and the smartest person in the room but even she can't guarantee the safety of those around her when a serial killer escapes.  Jason Abbot has a bee in his bonnet over accomplished women and Laurel is the one who put him away.

Huck has his own problems when one of the victims found has a close link to him.  Then the others that follow also have a tenuous link to him - who is trying to set up Huck as the fall guy?

I love the way that Huck and Laurel just get each other.  There is no miscommunication of drama with these two.  They have adult conversations and talk through problems that crop up.  They have a few hurdles to overcome however and they will need to make some big decisions soon.  Laurel should be dry and emotionless but her overactive brain and logic actually make her quite empathetic..  She may need clarification on a couple of things but she isn't some emotionless robot.  Huck is the perfect partner for her.  Patient, protective but willing to stand beside her instead of in front of her when she needs to take charge.

Laurel's mum is the only true family she has.  Abigail is still the most morally grey sibling ever and I'd certainly never want to have anything to do with her.  The narcissism is strong with that one and she just loves to meddle.  And Zeke - well that man just makes my skin crawl - he is such a sleaze!

There are lots of twists and turns and layers of subterfuge by all the suspects.  I must say that the Podcaster really needs taken down a peg or two - she has major cojones that one!

I look forward to the next adventure.

I’ve often heard about a movie that was SO good that it kept you on the edge of your seat…well this book did that to me! FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow is determined to put her “father”, the pastor, in prison. She doesn’t accept him as her father due to his past history with her beloved mother. Nor does she want contact with her half-sister, Abigail, who she believes is a malignant narcissist and a murderer. The dysfunction between them will soon meet a turning point that can’t be crossed. A serial killer, who has a history with Abigail, has just escaped from custody. Laurel and her significant other, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, begin the search. When a woman’s body is found near the river, Huck senses that there is something familiar about her. She reminds him of pictures that he has seen of his mother, who he has had no contact with since he was two-years-old. Has the escaped serial killer begun a new campaign of terror? When a second victim is found, murdered in much the same manner, it will take every resource to find and stop the killing. When it seems as if someone is trying to frame Huck for the murders, Laurel will not quit until she finds the killer, no matter any personal loss she must suffer. Non-stop action and suspense from the very first chapter! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Book #4 in the Laurel Snow series. These books have several continuing arcs so are best read in order. If you are starting with book #4, it reads well as a stand alone but the tension and suspense are ramped up if you've read the first three.

Laurel Snow is an FBI profiler. She has made valuable contributions to several cases working along side Huck Rivers of the Washington State Wildlife Department on several of them. YOU CAN KILL finds them teaming up again when a killer escapes and is killing witnesses from cases they have worked together before. This unique story line has them racing against time and personal problems to save lives.

Rebecca Zanetti is an author I can count on to provide a compelling story with great characters that will keep be engrossed long after "one more chapter" has me reading until the reveal. I recommend her books often and have gifted this series to my sister readers.
