I’ve enjoyed every book in this series, ESPECIALLY this latest one. Grabbing you from page 1, the adventures of FBI special agent Laurel Snow and Captain Huck Rivers of Fish and Wildlife continue with more grisly murders to solve. But this time, it appears to be more personal.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Amy Landon, did an excellent job portraying all of the characters in this complex murder mystery.

This is another outstanding thriller in this series with the romance heating up between Huck and Laurel tucked right alongside the murders to be solved. Serial killer or rather killers this time? Laurel Snow really has her hands full here but this book in particular focuses more on Huck and I was definitely here for it! Who doesn’t love a grisly, protective lawman, totally enthralled with an FBI special agent and has an adorable bear dog by his side.

I was thoroughly captivated until the very end where of course Rebecca with her brilliant writing leaves the door open for another book.

I am done with this series. I really enjoyed the first couple books but I feel like it jumped the shark somewhere in the third book. When that ended with so much open, I decided to read this one to see how things wrapped up and hoping it got back on track but unfortunately for me it still didn’t work. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free ebook to review.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti kept me glued to the pages from the first word to the last. This fast paced thriller with a fascinating plot and romantic angle is brilliantly written. FBI agent Laurel Snow and her partner (in work and real life) Captain Huck Rivers are facing another cunning and dangerous serial killer who is tied to all the cases they solved before. And this time, their own lives are at risk.

This thriller or romantic suspense has an intriguing plot with so many complicated characters who keep you on your toes. Serial killer Jason Abbott escaped custody. New bodies are appearing but they don't match his old patterns. Laurel's genius sister Abigail may very well be a psychopath with her mind games and secrets. Laurel's father, Pastor Zeke Cain is back in town and he is also a devil person inside. Laurel is pregnant and Huck is in extra protective mode. But he is getting tangled into the murders too. Who is behind everything?

I love how this book gives enough space to Laurel and Huck's relationship. The suspense is the main mode here and the romantic interlude softens it a bit. It also helped me to relate more to Laurel and Huck. Laurel is highly intelligent and her mind is a fascinating space. It was so exciting to watch how she put the pieces together. The author also leaves enough crumbs for the reader and I found my mind working in overdrive. There are so many characters but you will not be lost, rather you would want to know more and more about their dreams and motivations and desires. Huck is like a pillar of strength for Laurel. He is a bit grumpy and closed off for everyone but Laurel is his soul and he won't let anyone hurt her. It's a bit hard for Laurel to lean on Huck but the murders and manipulations took a toll. They were always running to catch the killer and also, running away from the danger. The last few chapters were absolutely terrifying. In the end, you will get some answer but not all..

Man ,have I loved this series. I love Laurel and Huck, all the surrounding characters and the drama. So much drama. Making each book a page-turner. You Can Kill lived up to all my expectations. In addition to the newest serial killer, there are a lot of reasons to be suspicious of Laurel's dad and sister. She again must worry about the safety of her staff and family. All this while racing the clock to find the killer before he strikes again. There are so many who've earned suspicion by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. The weather again makes the entire endeavor more difficult. Like the books before, there is so much to keep the reader turning pages in You Can Kill.

Laurel is so complex and Zanetti somehow makes this analytical genius who can't read most social clues into a highly sympathetic character. She loves deeply and is loved in return. It's been great watching her and Huck. This book solidifies their couple status and that they're meant for each other. Now that they've settled into a great relationship a pregnancy brings a lot of questions for each and a lot of love for each other and their unborn child. So rewarding. But all is never easy for these two and they must navigate a lot of problems again. So many feels!

The questions swirling around Laurel's equally, but evil, genius sister's involvement with an escaped convict from the previous murder spree are many. Her father's return and unaccounted for time away bring up more questions including if he has murdered. Laurel's sister and father want to have a relationship with her but she's justifiably reluctant.. What are their motives? What are their actions? So much stress. Are they, one or both, capable and willing to endanger her mom, Huck, staff and others? Their big brains make them able to hide their motives and activities way better than the average person. Making Laurel's job that much harder. She has suspicions but they've been way too good at hiding any bad deeds

Laurel has been progressively better with human emotions and relationships with each book and this one really brought her around to being a very likable, sympathetic character.

I highly recommend this book!!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

You Can Kill is the 4th book in the Lauren Snow series, written by Rebecca Zanetti. Once again we follow along with Laurel and Huck as they come face to face daily with the evil that has invaded their town. And escaped serial killer, a crazy sister and a rapist for a father poor Laurel has more than she can handle most days. New murders in town lead to maybe a new serial killer or is it the one that just escaped custody. This was an action packed book, and kept me turning the pages until the very end. I would certainly recommend it to others.

I received and ARC from NetGalley and Kensington publishing, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

A gripping romantic suspense novel featuring Laurel Snow, an FBI profiler with a dysfunctional and psychopathic family. When a serial killer escapes from custody and a woman’s body is soon found, the assumption is that the escaped prisoner is responsible, but the MO is wrong. Fast paced and spanning a period of around a week or so Laurel with the aid of Huck Rivers, the Wildlife and Fisheries officer and her partner must recapture a serial killer intent on revenge. As the body count rises so does the list of suspects including her sociopath half sister Abigail, her evil rapist father, and the ambitious journalist out to make a name for themselves who has a knack of turning up in just the right place. But as the victims are identified a link between them appears and it isn’t long before the clues start to point towards someone a little closer to home.

You Can Kill had everything I love in romantic suspense. With an intricate plot laden with twists, turns and intrigue. From psychological mind games between Laurel and the various protagonists, to Abigail’s seeming obsession with her sister, to the unwanted reappearance of father intent on forcing his way into her life, all these details kept me absorbed throughout my read. All set against the darkly atmospheric setting of the Pacific Northwest and if their professional lives weren’t turbulent enough, Laurel and Huck were dealing with impending changes in their personal lives together. This was romantic suspense at its best and Rebecca Zanetti is an author I’ll happily read again.

While not my first read by Rebecca Zanetti, this is the first book in the Laurel Snow series that I’ve read and events in You Can Kill do follow on from events in the earlier books. It didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this particular book, but it probably has affected how I’ll feel when I go back and read the rest of the series – my own fault for reading the series out of order.

This is one of my favorite series. I just love Laurel and her investigative skills, especially when she teams up with Huck. They work so well as colleagues and as lovers and I really like getting more information on both aspects in this latest addition to the series. It really is a series about relationships against the backdrop of terrible crimes.

This is a no spoiler review, so I'm not getting into the details of the story. I will say that the writing pulled me right into the story and I found myself close to the end before I knew it. I love a book that draws me in so completely that the pages just fly by, and this series does that. There's always a few twists and turns that keep the story moving along, and this installment of the series is no exception.

Overall, a 5 star read for this reader.

You Can Kill is the fourth book in Rebecca Zanneti’s Laura Snow Thriller series. This is a romantic suspense novel that stars FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow as she tries to catch yet another serial killer in Genesis Valley, WA, while dealing with family drama. This story is written in third person from the point of view of several characters, which allows the readers to be drawn deeper into the twist and turns of this suspense storyline.

Danger surrounds Laurel and Huck as they work together to catch an elusive killer who seems to be targeting their friends and family. Evidence points to a pattern that links to previous case involving both Laurel and Huck and all the victims seem to share a resemblance the their mothers. Will Laurel and Huck solve this sensationalized case before the killer sets his sights on them and their growing family? Read it and find out!

Zanetti is an amazing author with a phenomenal talent for writing romantic suspense. She does a fantastic job engaging the reader”s emotions, particularly in this story which was heartbreaking. The chemistry and interactions between Laurel and Huck continue with each additional story and demonstrates their strong connection and deep love for each other. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced readers copy received from Netgalley.

You Can Kill is a great addition to the Laurel Snow series. I find Laurel to be such an interesting character. She may be a genius, but she seems so down to earth and she’s always more than willing to admit her flaws. It’s been great to watch her grow through the series. In this book she seems a bit out of her element and misses connections between cases until others point them out. While Laurel is hunting down an escaped serial killer, her father, Pastor Zeke Caine, and half-sister Abigail Caine continue playing games with her.

Speaking of Abigail, she is as cuckoo bananas as always. Fingers crossed Laurel finally gets the upper hand and can knock her down a few (million) pegs.

Rachel Raprenzi will do anything to further her career. Will this be the time she goes too far?

Huck is in full-on protector mode and I’m here for it.

Rebecca Zanetti knows how to write romantic thrillers. This book is filled with good twists and turns that will keep your attention throughout the entire story. I love the relationship between Laurel and Huck, they truly bring out the best in each other.

I'm looking forward to seeing what book #5 has in store!

4.5stars-YOU CAN KILL is the fourth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult LAUREL SNOW suspense thriller focusing on FBI Special Profiler Laurel Snow. YOU CAN KILL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing plot line throughout.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Laurel, following several interconnected pathways, YOU CAN KILL continues to focus on Laurel Snow’s investigation into the father she never knew, and a half sister whose proclivities are questionable and dark. Someone is taking aim at the women of Genesis Valley, and Laurel begins to suspect an escaped serial killer is purposely making her life difficult. All of the victims are blonde, and may or may not have a connection to our story line heroine, and as the numbers increase, so too do the accusations against Laurel and the man that she loves. Meanwhile a social media journalist, one who has a past with Huck Rivers, fuels the accusations with her attempts at revenge, revenge that make her a target of a crazed serial killer.

The world building is complex and detailed as we are up close and personal with Laurel and Huck, victims and killers, suspects and madness. Laurel Snow believes she knows the people responsible but outside interference and a need for vengeance threaten Laurel’s investigation when the people at the top, take over.

The relationship between Captain Huck Rivers and FBI profiler Laurel Snow continues to be both professional and personal. Laurel and Huck’s romance is more than a passing, as they begin to make plans for a future together in Genesis Valley.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and questionable secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we met in the previous story lines: Laurel’s half sister Dr. Abigail Caine, their father Pastor Zeke Caine; Laurel’s mom Deidre, podcaster Rachel Raprenzi, as well as several locals, victims, and survivors.

YOU CAN KILL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, madness and murder, social and pathological behaviors. The premise is thrilling, dramatic, haunting and twisted; the characters are animated, tragic and brutal.

Another amazing installment in the Laurel Snow series. This is the perfect combination of mystery, thriller and romance. I love Laurel and Huck together. They definitely complement each other. The odds are stacked heavily against Laurel and Huck as another serial killer is claiming victims in Genesis Valley. This fast paced thriller had me on the edge of my seat. The character development is amazing. This is a fantastic read and can't wait to see what happens next.

The latest addition in the Laurel Snow series picks up right where You Can Die, the 3rd book in the series, left off. I delayed reading this 4th book because I realized I needed to catch up on the previous book first. I recommend anyone interested in diving into this book read the first three books in the series - you won’t regret it. This is a story you don’t want to describe in too much detail, no spoilers allowed. As always Zanetti’s is fantastic at character development. Watching the abilities of FBI profiler Laurel Snow and her boyfriend Huck Rivers (Washington Fish and Wildlife), along with their team is very satisfying, but scary as it seems they are all in danger. They are challenged with an escaped serial killer, crazy town members laying blame on Huck and Laurel for what’s happening in the town, a seeming change in the killer’s operandi as murders increase, and of course there is also Laurel’s psycho father and her sociopathic half sister. What more can go wrong? Lots! You’ll find the book thoroughly enjoyable, it’s highly recommended and what comes next in the series???? Thank you Kensington and NetGalley for the ARC

I feel like I have to put this warning up front: there will not be spoilers for this book in my review but there may be spoilers for previous books. These books are, in my opinion, not meant to be read out of order. There is too much backstory between Laurel, her love interest Huck, her half-sister Abigail, and her bio “father” Ezekial. Not to mention the plethora of other characters, both good and evil.

The serial killer from one of Laurel’s previous cases has escaped, but he doesn’t leave town. He is out for vengeance, against both Laurel and Abigail. At the same time, a string of murders has Laurel, and everyone else, if there is a new killer on the loose or if the escaped prisoner has changed his usual MO. This story keeps you guessing if Abigail is up to her tricks again and whether or not she is in cahoots with their “father”, who seems to be even more diabolical and evil than I had initially thought. Meanwhile, Laurel’s team, her support system, are being forced out of her circle left and right.

As always, I adore Huck’s care and love for Laurel. He always gives her room to be herself while also being uber-protective. He knows Laurel is an independent woman and exceptionally good at her job, and he doesn’t want to get in the way of that. Laurel, for her part, is learning what it is to be in a relationship and sees things from a more emotional side rather than always analytically.

Abigail is not featured in this story as much as in previous books, and I was okay with that. The author does such a good job with her character that she if often hard for me to read she is just that creepy. But when Abigail is on page she does not disappoint. The last few chapters of this story are a whirlwind and left me with my jaw on the floor. Again, I don’t want to give spoilers, but seeing some characters break their usual mold was interesting. I cannot even begin to guess how they’ll get out of this new mess!

Love this series! I always anticipate the next book, and this one didn’t disappoint! Enjoy the murder mystery and danger. Love the romance! Just such a fun, thrilling read! Definitely start this series from the beginning; Laurel had been and is still dealing with so much. So entertaining!

Give me all of the Laurel Snow books! Just keep em coming.

Like the last three, You Can Kill roped me in from the beginning and was a quick read. I love the scenery, the mood of the book, and the action packed story.

Rebecca Zanetti writes great characters and now I’m ready for more!

You Can Kill is the latest release in the Laurel Snow series by the extremely talented Rebecca Zanetti. I loved getting to visit with Laurel and Huck again. Laurel once again has her hands full with trying to capture an escaped killer, investigating new murders, dealing with her obsessive half sister, but also having to deal with her evil bio father being back in town and the exciting and terrifying news that she is pregnant. A serial killer seems to be going after people with the objective to isolate Laurel before coming for her. Will the serial killer succeed? Read You Can Kill to find out.
Rebecca Zanetti really knows how to write a gripping story full of memorable characters. I was both sad and shocked by the ending of You Can Kill. I can’t wait to read what happens next for Laurel, Huck and the gang.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was action-packed, suspenseful, sweet, fun and fascinating. I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book by this author.

Another great Laurell Snow story. I won't go much into the story to avoid spoilers, I'll just say you should definitely check the series out (start with book 1 as this is an interconnected series). I am not normally a fan of thrillers, but I enjoy this series from Rebecca! It has a little bit of romance, a lot of suspense, family issues, and mystery. Laurell's crazy sister Abagail is still around in this story and of course will be causing trouble. We get to continue seeing Laurell grow her relationships with multiple people in town.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington for providing me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

A chilling wave of brutal murders sweeps through Genesis Valley, WA, pulling rising star FBI profiler Laurel Snow into danger. This suspense thriller brings back all of Laurel’s nemeses, including her chaotic sister Abigail, her manipulative father, the relentless reporter Rachel Raprenzi, and the serial killer Jason Abbott—plus a few intriguing newcomers!

What I loved most was diving deeper into local Fish & Wildlife captain Huck’s backstory while witnessing the evolution of his relationship with Laurel. Their dynamic adds an emotional layer to the suspense, making every twist and turn even more impactful.

With its perfect blend of crime, suspense, and romance, You Can Kill had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The dramatic conclusion will leave you wanting more of this series! If you’re a fan of thrilling reads that keep you guessing, this is a must-add to your TBR list!
