Loved it another thrill a minute seat of your pants suspense from Rebecca. I literally would read this authors shopping list and not get bored. Loved the character development and the surprises in the story.
You Can Kill is a measured, methodical read that’ll send chills down your spine!
Rebecca Zanetti steps up her game in this new Laurel Snow novel. Where slayers gonna slay slay slay and Huck and Laurel are finding it harder and harder to shake off the clouds of dread hanging over their new found happiness. This new string of killings is cutting a swath through the area and Laurel’s support system, isolating her from everyone and everything, including her job security… and her safety. No one gets out unscathed.
The storyline is intense, more complex, and jaw-dropping than its predecessors. The villain is almost supernatural in their duplicity. The suspense will have you by the throat. The book is aptly named. The ending will have you shook. I invite any thriller-loving reader to pick up the Laurel Snow series! You won’t be disappointed.
This is the 4th book in the series; while you can read it as as standalone I recommend reading the previous 3 first!
FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow is called to the local hospital in Genesis Valley where the last murderer she put in jail is under watch from an attempted suicide watch. Laurel gets a call that Jason Abott would like to see her while he's in the hospital and against her better judgement she agrees. Things go bad really fast when she arrives and Abott manages to escape. Now the hunt is on to find this ruthless serial killer and get him back behind bars where he belongs.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC !
You Can Kill is the 4th book in the Laurel Snow series by Rebecca Zanetti. Every character is unique and three dimensional. No one is one dimensional in this book. Especially, Laurel Snow who uses her interesting talents to succeed as an FBI Special Agent in Charge. Then there is her boyfriend, Huck Rivers who is a Fish and Wildlife Captain. They certainly do make an interesting pair.
There are a lot of intriguing characters. Abigail her half sister is extremely intelligent and always stirring up trouble. Pastor Zeke, the father she never wanted to know. Between these two, Laurel can never relax.
This well written book has so much going on with twists, turns, a little romance and suspense. It will keep you interested and guessing as you turn each page. I love Laurel finding each clue and examining it in ways I never expected. I was riveted. The only problem is waiting for the next one in the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a review copy.
Heart-stopping action and intrigue at the center of this gripping thriller had me glued to the pages.
You have got to admire the sheer audacity of Abigail and Zeke. I was also amazed at how similar these two were, and yet so different. And how they both wanted to be close to Laurel, but each for sinister reasons of their own.
Things got quite chaotic, with Laurel’s team scattered all over and Huck receiving more unwanted attention than he’d like. I felt like there were more enemies than friends around. Abigail and Zeke were their usual unpleasant, disturbing selves, with Abigail being significantly stealthier about it. Rachel was extremely annoying as well, as expected.
The murder suspects were a bit more predictable this time, but the way it unfolded wasn’t. Laurel and Huck’s relationship was also thoroughly put through the wringer. Despite everything thrown their way, they stayed true to each other. I love the two of them so much.
I thoroughly enjoyed every chilling reveal, every Huck/Laurel interaction, and even all the uncomfortable moments with Abigail and Zeke. This series is an excellent choice if you like suspense and romance. It is best to read the books in order.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
5 icy stars ☆
Too much happens in this new Laurel Snow book: new killer (we suppose) and old one out for blood and revenge, furthermore, there's the tricky relationship between Laurel and her strange father and sister.
New bodies start to be found, frozen all over making Laurel run against the clock to solve this case of serial killings before someone innocent takes the blame.
Sometimes you can't save everyone and being in the cross sights of a very determined reporter is not something Laurel wants or needs.
Mrs Zanetti has done it again! Every page is addictive and evolving, not letting the reader put down the book until the very end. The raw emotions, the gruesome details of the murders and how everything intertwines evolving into a final crescendo. Do yourself a favor and add this one to your TBR list: you're not going to regret it.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti
Laurel Snow series #4. Romantic thriller. Best read in series order although this can be read as a stand-alone.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow is called to the local hospital in Genesis Valley where the last murderer she put in jail is under death watch. He still manages to escape even as Laurel tried to stop him. Brutal murder victims are now being found across the Pacific Northwest. Is it Jason Abbott finding new ways to kill, or is it someone else targeting family and friends of Laurel and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers? Every victim is related to past cases the two have worked. No one is safe and everyone is suspect.
A reporter stirs up trouble. She’s visited Jason in jail and should be worried about her own safety but she’s more interested in ratings and scandal. And her targets are Laurel and Huck.
Laurel’s sister, Abigail, who is just as smart as Laurel, is playing a game only she knows.
Between Pastor John or Pastor Zeke, who is running the church and is there a connection to the body found on the property?
Who will be the next victim? Can they connect all the details and prevent another murder?
I’m not going into anymore detail. I don’t want to spoil the suspense.
“Icicles hung like sharpened spikes” - a great opening line to this next Laurel Snow thriller.
I feel each book in this series has gotten progressively better, and I think this is the best one yet.
You Can Kill was so good! It kept me guessing the whole way through and I loved the tension that was built as the story progressed, it had you questioning everyone!
This felt like a stripped back story in terms of secondary characters giving more focus to Laurel and Huck. The emotional strength that they obviously draw from each other is becoming more apparent and it makes for a great relationship for them. Even with the stripped back feel this story wasn't lacking in any way. It had all the drama and suspense that I've come to expect and love from this series and has me really appreciating the skill Rebecca Zanetti has to illustrate the isolation within this book so subtly and eloquently.
This definitely needs to be read as part of the series, I wouldn't recommend reading it as a standalone as some of the key topics need the background of the previous books to fully understand what's going on.
This is one of my favorite series by this author and I was so excited for this new story. It didn't disappoint. Laurel and Huck and their investigation will grab you and won't let go. There are interesting developments all around. This one tugged my emotions HARD. I cannot wait for more in this five star series!
The thrills and danger are off the scale in the newest Laurel Snow book! Laurel is facing her old nemesis Jason as well as a possibly unknown killer who is reeking havoc and leaving frozen bodies all around her jurisdiction. With the help of Huck, the swoonworthy hero and her lover, Laurel has to protect those she loves and find a killer before he decides that she is is ultimate target. This is a fast-paced mystery and suspense thriller with all of my favorite characters from the series and some new suspects, too. Abigail, Laurel’s sociopathic sister, plays a starring role in this book as she seems to always be in the wrong place at the right time. Laurel’s usual team is not present because of conflicts in their schedules, so it seems from the beginning that she is left almost on her own to find the villain and to safeguard her loved ones. The characters are realistic and the action is non-stop, with a few surprising twists along the way. I think this is the best book in the series so far, with a lot of personality given to Laurel in this one and the author also lets a little of her vulnerability show. This book can definitely be read and thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone. But I think once anyone reads this one, they will want to read the rest of the series as well.

(4.5) Heart in throat! Emotional! Chills with some scary people, family by blood no less. You can Kill picks up where book 3 lets off with Huck (Fish and Game Warden) Laurel (FBI). It quickly pulls you under (no pun intended) whips you around (like the scrambler at a carnival) and gives you moments of peace with Huck and Laurel. I am still digesting some of this book and have a blanket on my shoulders as I type this - still chilled. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely volunteer my honest thoughts and opinions. I highly recommend reading this series in order, or you do yourself a disservice. #YouCanKill #LaurelSnow #RebeccaZanetti #Kensignton-Zebra #NetGalley

Phenomenal!
This series is going strong, full of drama, action and suspense. There are some great twists, conniving characters, emotional moments and tender times. The next one can’t come fast enough.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
Laurel and Huck are never short of adventure, suspense, intrigue and romance, and add in Abigail you get your dose of psychotic thriller…
I have questions though on why people would continue living in some of these small towns, the murder rates are insane, but that’s why it’s fiction! This fast paced, twisty story will keep you guessing - not just who did it, but why and who’s next? And you’re going to realize that you could never figure this one out!
I was so excited for this book. Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite authors and this series is amazing. In this one, FBI Agent Laurel Snow & Washington Fish and Wildlife captain, Huck Rivers, are dealing with the murder of women, an escaped convict, as someone is trying to isolate Laurel. And of course Annabelle. This series has a great cast of characters and a mystery that keeps you guessing with unexpected twists and turns. I love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next! Keep them coming.
FBI profiler Laurel Snow is back again to help solve some more grizzly murders. Once again she has hook help but this time they seem to find remnants of old cases involved. Also, they must deal with laurels psychotic sister. Abigail has her own ideas of trying to protect Laurel in her own way. This book once again is a forensic mystery and at the same time has the most complicated characters and relationships which keep you into the book from start to finish
I enjoyed this book need to go read the others it was a short but interesting novel a little creepy and and scary
You Can Kill starts where we left off. Laurel is thrust straight into a new case. Each of her team members are leaving town for various reasons. Suddenly Huck is shoved into the middle of a case Laurel is working on. Now he’s no longer the person she can rely on the most. There are many ups & downs throughout this novel. As usual we are kept on our toes til the end.
I was happy to dive into the latest Laurel Snow murder-mystery romantic suspense novel. You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti has FBI Agent Laurel Snow & Washington Fish and Wildlife captain, Huck Rivers, dealing with the murder of women, an escaped convict, as someone trying to isolate Laurel. A gripping tale with loss, danger and more awaits you.
I love this series set in the Pacific Northwest. Laurel is an interesting character who has eidetic memory and now works as a profiler for the FBI. They’ve opened this unit directly across the hall from the Fish and Wildlife department. Huck & Laurel, along with his K9 partner, Aeneas, been navigating a relationship and have settled into a happy place, but all that is about to be threatened. I love the two of them together.
Laurel is sure her father and sister Abigail are up to nefarious things, including murder, and she cannot quite figure out what their game is. Abigail is dangerous and the more we learn, the more I share Laurel’s fear. Jason Abbott, the serial killer locked up in the previous book has managed to escape. Did Abigail aid him, or maybe his girlfriend? When the drowned bodies of local females turn up close, Laurel has to decide who is involved and why.
She needs her team more than ever, but trips, emergencies and accusations isolate her. The story that unfolds was suspenseful, with plenty of action and near-death experiences. Laurel and Huck suffer loss to and I felt for them.
While we got closure for the murders, there are still threads yet to be solved. I am equally vested in the romantic thread as well and want Laurel happy.
Fans of romantic suspense and clever murder-mystery cases should start from the beginning of the Laurel Snow series. I devoured You Can Kill and cannot wait for the next one!
Another good mystery involving Laurel and Huck! Blond women are turning up dead and the question is does Genesis Valley have another murderer or is it escaped serial killer Jason Abbott? Amazingly - the victims keep having one person in common…Huck.
A great cast of characters and a mystery that keeps you guessing with unexpected twists and turns. I love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next!
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The small Washington town of Genesis Valley has had more than its fair share of serial murders this past winter; enough to see FBI Special Agent In Charge Laurel Snow headquarter the Pacific Northwest Violent Crime Unit out of her hometown. Maybe Laurel and her boyfriend, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, can finally catch a break and focus on their new pregnancy?
Alas, it is not to be! New homicides are happening, each with a shadow of their past cases or even to our intrepid duo themselves. Who is messing with Laurel and Huck? There are plenty of suspects in play: Jason Abbott, who is yet to be tried as the Witch Creek Killer; Pastor Zeke Caine, who Laurel is certain is guilty of something, but has yet to prove it; and, Abigail Caine, Laurel’s brilliant narcissist half sister.
Laurel and Huck are a formidable investigative alliance. The PNWVC Unit is nevertheless greatly understaffed and growing smaller by the minute. It’s almost as if circumstances have conspired to weaken the team! Although Laurel can hold her own, Huck is the alpha protective type, and is hovering even closer now that he is about to become a father. I adore Laurel and Huck. They are such a great couple. Isolated but compatible, reserved but intuitive, deserving of one another’s loyal nature, and sizzling between the sheets. They make cops look so sexy!
For her part, Abigail’s unflinching but unrequited attempts to become close to Laurel would be tragic if not for her creepy, scary, over-the-top arrogance and lack of boundaries. There’s a dangerous dynamic between Laurel and Abigail … it’s so competitive and high stakes. Although Laurel and Huck’s relationship anchors the series, Abigail by herself is worth dipping one’s toes into the shark pool. The author’s development of this villain has reached delightfully diabolical heights and I lived for her each next appearance. With these three characters, Rebecca Zanetti has thriller, suspense, romance, and dark comedy well-covered.
