It had been a while since I read the last Laurel Snow book so there was a little something I had forgotten that was a nice surprise. It’s also amazing to remember how awesome these books are. Each time Laurel opens up a little more. She’s always 100% the smartest person in the room but she’s letting emotions out as she and Huck become embroiled in more murders. These are hitting a little too close to home.
But the ending, really Rebecca? How could you??
This is 5 star worthy, all the way.

The series continues with another suspenseful grisly read. If you haven't read the 3 previous books I recommend reading them in order. This book picks up shortly after the 3rd book and has continuing storylines. I really enjoy the suspense in this series and how the author keeps you guessing until the end as to who the killer is. There is also the ongoing tension between Laurel and her half sister Abigail and their father Zeke. I like that some of that situation has been resolved in this book, but I was hoping things would turn out a bit differently for Laurel. I don't want to say too much and spoil the ending of the book for anyone else. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series to find out how things work out for Laurel. Thanks to Netgalley for the arc.

"You Can Kill" by Rebecca Zanetti is a gripping and fast-paced thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. FBI profiler Laurel Snow and Fish and Wildlife Officer Huck Rivers team up once again to solve a series of brutal murders, all of which tie back to Laurel’s past cases. The story is packed with action, suspense, and intriguing characters, especially Laurel’s dangerously clever half-sister, Abigail. While some parts of the plot feel a bit over-the-top, the story remains engaging and hard to put down. Zanetti masterfully balances the twists and turns, making it a real page-turner. Fans of the Laurel Snow series will enjoy this latest installment, and new readers will be drawn in by the mystery and emotional depth of the characters. Overall, "You Can Kill" is a thrilling, emotional, and satisfying read.

Review copy was received from NetGalley, Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I was happy to continue the Laurel Snow series. I like Laurel and Huck. Abigail and Zeke are wacky characters, a bit cliche in their evil as malignant narcissists. We learn more about Laurel and Huck personally. It was especially great to get more of Huck's history.

The murders and the capabilities of Jason Abbott and others to escape or continue to commit crimes seems a bit over the top. That Laurel and Monty would be short staffed and unable to gather other assistance seems unusual. Although sometimes help means they try to take over the case.

Laurel and Huck take many great steps in gathering evidence to solve the case. And I was so glad when they sent Laurel's mother out of town. I am unhappy that both Huck and Laurel relied on their own skills and did not always have backup or support. They knew they were under fire, how serious it was, and yet did not secure protection or backup.

You Can Kill was easy to read and the culprits were not always clear. It was engaging even if it was over the top in a few aspects. The ending had things in a good place.

FBI SA Laurel Snow and Fish and Wildlife Officer Hank Rivers are once again chasing a serial killer in this latest in fast paced romantic suspense series that likely will be most appreciated by those who have read at least one of the previous books. Laurel's sister Abagail (perhaps the most intriguing character) and her father figure in here as well. And there's a dog. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A page turner.

Be sure to read this series in order!

While it is possible to read each book as a standalone, there is a continuing story that runs through them.

In book 4 of the series, FBI agent Laurel Snow works once again with Huck Rivers, from Fish and Wildlife to solve new murders that are very personal. A series of events, leave Laurel isolated from her team and battling to keep her family safe.

Zanetti will have you hooked, waiting to see who is responsible for each of the murders, what is their endgame and will they catch the killer before it's too late. Prepare for the battle Snow has with her evil (psychopath) family members, for revelations and emotional moments.

FBI agent Laurel Snow works closely with Huck Rivers, a Fish and Game Warden, who is also her significant other. Laurel is tracking an escaped serial killer while dealing with her half-sister, Abigail, and her father, Zeke, pastor of a local church, who is back in town. Laurel is also dealing with being short-staffed. The body count is rising and one in particular gets Huck removed from the case. Officially. But he’s not about to let Laurel go it alone.

A fast-paced, most excellent, edge-of-your-seat thriller!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Bravo Ms Zanetti!
This is a fabulous read and 4th instalment in Laurel Snow Series.
I loved being back with Laurel, Huck and their crew in Genesis Valley trying to solve the mystery of the latest serial killer.
Ms Zanetti kept me guessing and I don’t know how many times I changed my mind on who I thought was the serial killer.
The villains in this series are ones you love to hate!
The relationship development for our quirky FBI agent Laurel and her introverted, unwavering and protective Huck warmed my heart and I am so happy they found each other.

There are a lot of characters to keep track of so be prepared.
Whilst you can read this as a standalone, because the author gives you all the backstory you need, it is the 4th in a series, I recommend you read them in order. It’s a fantastic series and you’d be missing out if you don’t!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Publishing and Ms Zanetti for an early copy of this book.

What make this series different from other Romantic Suspense is the cast of supporting characters and I use the term "supporting" loosely here as some of them don't support at all. Anyway, this cast adds a darker element that is not often seen in RS.

A serial killer escapes custody and a woman is found drowned and frozen by a river. The MO is different, so another killer has to be considered, and the jurisdiction shared as the body is on both State and Federal land. It is another complication when Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain, Huck Rivers believes at first that this is the body of his mother. When another body is found behind the church of FBI Agent Laurel Snow's estranged sperm donor, Zeke Caine, the case gets much more complicated.

Each murder is related to a prior case that Laurel and Huck worked, and Laurel's wacko half-sister Abigail Caine inserts herself right in the middle of both the case and Laurel and Huck's lives. Abigail claims she only wants to protect Laurel from their father, but Laurel has her doubts about her true motive. With people she cares deeply about are threatened, Laurel is taking no chances with her own safety and she and Huck use every skill they possess to find this killer.

My thanks to the Publisher and the Author for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

Laurel and Huck are back and it’s another gruesome case as women turn up dead close to water. It cannot be a coincidence that a local killer has recently escapes custody, but this one has a connection to Huck what is really going on?? Brutal murders to solve, Laurels evil manipulative father/sperm donor is back in town and of course her with her twisted half-sister around what more could does this couple have to deal with? Well for Laurel it's the murder business as usual with a killer on the loose and each murder is related to a prior case that Laurel and Huck worked,

This was an excellent addition to the series with a shocker of an ending. I've heard of keeping enemies close but what if it's family, no matter how loosely connected? Can’t wait to see where this brilliant series will take us next!! Solid 5+ Stars!!!!!

3.5 stars, and here's why: I have enjoyed this series a lot and always look forward to the next book. I will say, however, that this one wasn't my favorite. It felt like Laurel was getting outsmarted at every turn, and then of course Huck had Murphy's Law working against him: everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I understand that the main characters need to face obstacles, but this was a bit too much. And some of these characters are just over the top. Is anyone in real life as clueless yet successful as Rachel? And Huck's boss--he said and did so many inappropriate things that wouldn't be tolerated today. Most of the likeable characters are hardly around in this one (which is part of the plot), which meant that the vast majority of the book is overrun with the characters we're meant to hate. Unfortunately, that icky feeling they give us takes over without the balance of more of the good characters. I read to relax and escape, but I was so filled with anger and disappointment at the characters and circumstances that I didn't relax at all. Now, will I stop reading the series? Nope. I've truly enjoyed it up to this point, and I'm going to consider this a necessary downer in the overall progression of the series.

This is book 4 of the Laurel Snow series and honestly, I think I could read another 4 books in the series and not be disappointed. Even though it’s a bit far fetched that so many grisly murders keep happening in such a small town, I still find the books very entertaining and an enjoyable read.
In this instalment, FBI agent Laurel Snow and her team, including her boyfriend Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, are investigating a number of gruesome and disturbing murders that are eerily similar to past cases they have already solved. Add in the prison escape of Jason Abbott, the sudden reappearance of Laurel’s father Pastor Zeke Cain and the continued antics and mind games of her half sister Abigail Cain, poor Laurel is up to her eyeballs with distractions. It will take both her and Huck to not only deal with their personal problems but stay on top of everything in order to figure out who the killer is before more people are hurt.
I really enjoyed this book. It hits all the right notes. It had just the right blend of mystery, suspense and romance for me. Rebecca Zanetti has done it again. A great 4 star read. Bring on the next book in the series.

First and foremost, for those reading this now and who don’t follow of my reviews, I am a long-time, devoted and die-hard Rebecca Zanetti fangirl. This is the sixth series of hers that I have read. While I absolutely love her paranormal/urban fantasy, Dark Protectors, series that started it all for me, I have also really enjoyed all of the crime thriller/romantic suspense series, like the Laurel Snow series, that she has transitioned into for many years now.

The gangs all back for this fourth installment: FBI Special Agent, Laurel, along with her motley crew of agents in the small, rural, FBI office in Genesis Valley, WA. Her significant other, Huck, a Fish and Game Warden is also back along with his K9 partner, Aeneas, a Karelian Bear dog (a massive and fierce doggie) and his Captain, Monty. I really enjoy crime thrillers with bad@$$ FMC’s, and I like Laurel, she’s a great character with some interesting quirks. Additionally, Laurel’s psycho sister, Abigail, is as crazy as ever and definitely has that totally creepy character going on that adds a lot to the series. In this installment, they’re wacko dad is back in town (he took off in book 2) and wreaking havoc – again!

The story picks up shortly after the last one where Laurel and Huck found out that they’re going to be parents. Laurel is still in her first trimester so she has a way to go and her and Huck haven’t told anyone. Furthermore, after getting attacked by Jason Abbott (the killer Laurel caught in the last installment) during his escape from a hospital (he tried to kill himself – again!), Laurel is concerned that once she does go public with the pregnancy, she will be benched, so to speak. Laurel can’t have that, especially now, since Jason escaped on her watch, so to speak. None of this is a spoiler since it’s how the story started.

Shortly after Jason’s escape, dead bodies start showing up (one of them Huck’s estranged mother who abandoned Huck when he was a baby) and everyone suspects Jason, until they don’t. There is also a secondary storyline of Laurel and Abigail’s father, Pastor Zeke, who is desperate to get alone in a room with Laurel and her mother, Deirdra, to make sure they don’t go public with the accusations that he raped Deirdra when she was a teenager. He just signed a deal to take his ridiculous holy roller show national and doesn’t want a scandal to ruin it.

This is not a standalone read! Actually, none of the series installments are standalone reads. The series needs to be read in order to get the whole story behind all the players’ lives, secrets and machinations and fully enjoy the series and all of its installments. JMHO The character development in this installment was a continuation of the character development throughout the series thus far. The pacing was steady to fast and the storylines were interesting and engrossing. The writing was classic Zanetti and what I’ve come to expect and enjoy with her work. I’m looking at an overall rating of 4.6 that I will be rounding up to a 5star review. I want to thank NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for sending me this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

You Can Kill is the final book in an explosive and heart-stopping romantic suspense series by Rebecca Zanetti. This whole series, but also this book in particular, is perfect for anyone who enjoys psychological, slasher-type thrillers mixed with some romance. This is a series finale you won't want to miss!

You Can Kill picks up perfectly where the third installment (You Can Die) ends. If you're like me and have been diligently following along for the ride, you know that so much has already happened with FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, and the townsfolk of Genesis Valley. This town has been riddled with serial killers, and little do the townsfolk know, it now has another narcissistic psychopath in its midst.

This book had me feeling a full range of emotions, but the most prominent was stunned silence. I never knew which direction Rebecca Zanetti would take next. I was left on the edge of my seat, unsure how she would wrap this up. Two characters in particular (Pastor Zeke Caine, Laurel's estranged father, and Abigail Caine, Laurel's half-sister) have left me particularly worried since the beginning, and I desperately needed to know how Laurel and Huck were going to handle them. Rebecca did a marvelous job with this, by the way! Each key element slowly unraveled, and I can't believe how she made those pieces fit together so well.

This series had everything I love in romantic suspense/romantic thrillers. The one thing I'll mention is the romance is definitely on the slower side as it spans the four books and the overall storyline focuses more on the murder mysteries. But there are still several enjoyable romantic scenes that will appeal to romance readers!

Overall, a fantastic 5-star read and a great ending to the Laurel Snow series! Thank you, Rebecca!

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti takes us back into the Pacific Northwest with Laurel Snow. Once again murders are showing up in the land of ice and snow. Laurel recognizes the pattern and realizes her mother is in danger based on the victims she is investigating. Huck Rivers, Washington Fish and Wildlife captain joins the investigation. Lauren and Huck’s relationship ends up as part of the investigation as more information is revealed about the murder victims.

Laurel’s half sister and father play major roles in this novel. Their twisted narcissist tendencies with their superior attitude really grate on Huck and Lauren (and this reader). Lauren knows that they are deep within the mysterious killings and somehow they keep changing the focus through the social media of the “Killing Hour”. The novel moves rapidly between various situations and incidents, causing Huck and Lauren to race from one scene to another. To top it off Lauren is pregnant and Huck is extremely protective of her.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti is a suspenseful novel that captures the reader's attention almost from the beginning. The story of Huck and Laurel makes the reader cheer for them, desiring the truth to come out. The fourth novel about Laurel Snow, You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti is a great read.

The twists.. the turns... the unexpected... I loved it all.

Laurel, Huck, and their found family of co-workers are back, this time, the stakes are higher than ever.

I can safely say that no one will see this ending coming.

I need an emotional support group to discuss this book!! Rebecca has done it AGAIN!

Special Agent FBI Laurel Snow is alive and working in North West Washington. It’s a remote area, when cases evolve they are difficult to solve. She works with her FBI team as well as the Fish and Wildlife unit. Huck Rivers heads that group and every time the phone requires search and rescue or incidents in the wilderness he brings his team into play. As things happen, the phones ring. A body was found by a dog walker. She was face down, frozen in the river. It’s in a national area so Huck directs his guys, Laurel hers and off they go. It’s early spring but in the Northwest that means rain and ice. It’s tough weather today to investigate but nobody chooses the day or the weather.
Your Can Kill will be published by Zebra Books of Kensington Corporation on October 22, 2024. I appreciate their allowing me to read #4 in Zanetti’s Laurel Snow’s Thriller series. Like many reader’s of her books, I have been waiting for You Can Kill. It’s another terrific and alarming adventure with the man who has escaped from prison, Jason Abott. He’s the perpetrator who has caused many women to watch their back. He has his patterns and preferences so there are clues to look for but one never knows when a serial killer will change his fantasies. This one is a page turner, just could not put it down.Do hope there will be a 5th in the series. The characters make these adventures and investigations an added curiosity as Zanetti includes their personal behavior and practices. You Can Kill was fantastic. This new novel should not be missed. Do Enjoy!!
