Winter is hanging on in Washington state and blondes are turning up dead next to rivers in Genesis Valley. FBI Agent Laurel Snow and her boyfriend, Fish & Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, are hunting a killer who is mimicking the kill locations of a notorious serial killer. Short on manpower courtesy of vacations and a terrible accident, they struggle to put the pieces together before anyone else gets hurt. I am a fan of this series, and while I enjoyed this entry, there were a few things that I disliked this time around. The dialogue felt awkward and unnatural a fair bit of the time, and it appears she's trying to make Laurel more of an autistic genius like Bones (the tv version, not the book version) and it fell flat for me. She dials back the repetition on the heterochromatic eyes a little this time around, but the repetition in other places like regarding Monty's health is unnecessary. The climax is exciting and I look forward to the next entry in the series!

Tight mystery, complex characters combine for suspenseful ride
FBI Agent Laurel Snow is a beautifully complex character that I enjoy following so much. If these books were a TV series, I would be faithfully watching every week or binging on streaming service.
In YOU CAN KILL, the fourth book by Rebecca Zanetti to feature Snow, we are back in the snowy mountains of Washington state picking up where Book 3 left off. This book follows a more than one mystery to unravel.
Laurel is hard at work beside Huck Rivers, a local fish and wildlife officer and Laurel’s love interest. Watching their relationship deepen is as much fun as solving the crimes.
YOU CAN KILL is tightly paced and will dare you to read it in one sitting. The only problem is turning the final page and knowing you have to leave Laurel, Huck and the other wonderful characters until a new adventure arises.

Laurel and Huck are searching for serial killer Jason Abbott after he escaped from prison. Soon after blonde woman are found dead. All with connections to Huck which makes him a suspect. You Can Kill was a thrill ride from start to shocking finish! I couldn’t read this book fast enough. Even though there was a somewhat sad development, I can’t wait for the next one!

Laurel and Huck are back on the thick of another serial killer investigation and the usual suspects are up the their antics again.

There was a lot going on in this story which I liked at times, but it did get a little confusing at times keeping everything and everyone in their correct order/place.

I really liked Laurel and Huck’s dynamic. They just seemed to fit each other and loved the support they had around them.

On the other hand they also had so much going against them.

Laurel’s family situation was bizarre to say the least!

There were a lot of characters, a lot with their own agendas and some really crazy ways of thinking.

When I read the ending, my immediate thought was really. I just couldn’t get my mind round the character acting in the way they did.

Overall I enjoyed getting to know more about the main characters but did feel like there was a little bit too much going on at the one time.

I have read every book in this series so far, and they have been very enjoyable. The one complaint that I had with the series is the relationship with Laurel, Abigail and their father seemed to drag on and had extensive foreshadowing, but nothing ever seemed to progress. I am happy to relate that this story does move things forward a lot more. This is a hit series for me and I look forward to the future books!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

You Can Kill is another jaw dropping, action packed thriller in the addictive Laurel Snow series. A lot of Laurel’s background carries over from book to book so this would be best read as part of the series.. Laurel is happy but reeling from an unexpected pregnancy with Captain Huck Rivers, expert tracker and officer with Washington fish and wildlife. While visiting captured serial killer, Jason Abbott, Laurel is attacked and Jason escapes. Then the bodies begin to pile up, some with links to Huck. Pretty soon Huck is framed for murder and the killer is gunning for Laurel. Dealing with a psychotic father, sister, and serial killer tests Laurel’s impressive brain and leads to some heartbreaking losses. As always, Laurel’s mystery twists and turns for an unpredictable page turner that is impossible to set down. The characters are easy to fall in love with and the story always leaves you wanting more. My voluntary, unbiased, and non-mandatory review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

Heart in mouth action and suspense throughout as FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow, and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers try to track down another serial killer. Who could it be? There’s her deranged half sister Abigail, her egotistical father Pastor Zeke, and the escaped serial killer himself, Jason Abbott, to name but a few suspects. Time’s a ticking though, dead bodies are stacking up, and fingers are being pointed, but in the wrong direction? It’s up to Laurel to try and find the killer before everyone she cares about is gone. Action, a little bit of romance, and a whole lot of suspense had me on tenterhooks throughout. I kept having to put the book down, count to 100, make a cup of tea, and then pick it right back up again. I loved every minute of it. I was hooked. A little gruesome in places. A little emotional and sad at times, but I’m hoping things start looking up for Laurel and Huck in the next story. That’s if there is another story. I really hope there is. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Whoa....what did I just finish reading? I mean we all know how Abigail is in each book and she is still bitter and the total opposite of Laurel.
You can Kill had me on the edge of my seat. I mean do we really think Huck is a killer? I can't stand Rachel and I feel like she is one of those people. Who if she can't have the one man, no one can. I really do Laurel and Huck put her in her place.

It seems each book kind of comes full circle, yet it doesn't. Abigail she has her hands in everything. Along with their dad Zeke who is another person I dislike. You could say karma gets both of them. I really thought was the last book. It seems there could be another? More Huck and Laurel? Will they get that vacation they have been talking about?

I enjoyed this book. It started slowly but picked up in the last half. I definitely felt lost frequently. Apparently this wasn’t the first book in the series and there were multiple references to the other books rather than back story so this made it hard to follow at times. Also, the main characters were a little far-hatched in their evil characteristics. I’d recommend trying the earlier books in the series first but enjoyed the story overall.

Huck and Laurel are forging toward a new life together while capturing serial killers. She’s a FBI agent, actually special agent in charge, and he’s captain with Fish and Wildlife, This isn’t a series to jump into, it must be read in order, to follow the history of Laurel’s family. Her sister and father are quite unique and a very large thorn in her life. She knows without any doubts they are evil and have killed people. Each story builds upon the next, more murders and more pieces to connect. The way Laurel’s mind works is amazing, yet a little comical as she still struggles to catch simple humor or expressions. I feel the questions have been answered so the series could be finished but evil never sleeps. Having read an early copy I wrote my review voluntarily.

Okay, book fam! Who’s gonna make this series for television? Everything about the Laurel Snow series is amazing. The dialogue, chemistry, storyline, buildup, AND the unexpected events in the last 10% of this book? It has confirmed everything I already knew, Rebecca Zanetti is a phenomenal talent! TV executives and movie studios need to take notice! FIVE STAR READ.

I love Rebecca Zanetti and this book was no different. Love the series, the suspense combined with just a touch of romance makes this a must read!

I couldn't wait to reat this next installment in the Laurel Snow series. Rebecca Zanetti has created some wonderfully developed characters who evolve from book to book. All of the usual characters are back including Laurel's creepy half-sister Abigail. I just love to hate Abigail. In this novel, Laurel is becoming more and more isolated from her team as she tries to solve a series of murders involving blonde women who are killed in a very "cold" way. I enjoy the unique methods of murder that Zanetti comes up with! As usual, I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

Another tense and gripping installment in an addictive investigative series. Interesting and well developed characters add depth to a complex investigation with multiple agendas. You can't go wrong with this series, each book is better than the last.

I devoured this book! Agent Snow and Captain Rivers have amazing chemistry. The serial killer in this book is so clever, even Agent Snow has trouble connecting the dots. The author also made you wonder about whether the MMC could have done the things he was accused of. The end was sad for our heroes, but I have no doubt their relationship will be stronger than ever.

I just love Laurel Snow and Huck Rivers. Although, its shocking that so many people are killers in their neck of the woods. Abigail is still crazy and I still want to know how she's gonna get caught.

This series continues to get better with each book! Zanetti perfectly combines a psychological thriller with romance here. Not a standalone - you must read this series in order.

Laurel (29) has an eidetic memory. She went to college at the age of eleven, and works for the FBI hunting down killers. Huck (early 30s) is the perfect grumpy alpha, with a soft side. He’s former military, and works for the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Huck and Laurel are a perfectly balanced couple, these two know each other better than they know themselves. No drama, just genuine, grown-up conversations. So refreshing!

I classify this as romantic suspense, but it is certainly more focused on the murders than intimacy (although you do get a few tender and very hot moments).

The last 15% had my heart in my throat, for good reason.

Murder mysteries/thrillers featuring strong leading women have long been a go-to for escapism. Anna Pigeon, Kate Burkholder, Eve Dallas, Kate Shugak, and Joanna Brady are just a few of my favorites. If you liked any of those, you might like this series as well.

*Thank you to NetGalley, Zebra books, and Rebecca Zanetti, for the arc of this book.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti

Another great book by Rebecca Zanetti. I read all her series and love how she can switch genres so successfully. I am a fan!

This book is the fourth in the Laurel Snow series. Through the previous three books in this series there was a side storyline left dangling. In these books Laurel, a savant-on-the-spectrum, FBI agent solved grisly serial killer murders. However, the dangling storyline, (which involves Laurel’s equally brilliant but totally psychopathic half sister and her creepy, deviant sperm donor father), finally gets some resolution. Oh but the angst! I literally had to take reading breaks because my usually non-existent anxiety ratcheted up! This is so out of character for me but these villains are SO creepy-scary and Laurel was so isolated that it just made me anxious!

Anyway, Laurel and Huck prevail in the end but Ms. Zanetti dangles new threads! What will happen with the new “psychic” character or with the FBI agent from Seattle that had been dating Abigail? And of course Abigail’s situation…. Only time will tell and I look forward to #5 in the series. It can’t come fast enough.

5-Stars from me and despite having received an ARC of this book I will be purchasing it!

Rebecca Zanetti is an expert at writing suspense thrillers and Laurel Snow is the perfect lead character – uniquely beautiful, incredibly smart and a total badass. In this new story, members of her incredibly dysfunctional family continually attempt to thwart her as she searches to find a possible serial killer. Although Laurel is successful in resolving the crime spree, her personal loss will impact her life for some time. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and the opinions expressed are my own.
