The Treacherous Wife by Saundra is a gripping tale of love, betrayal, and deadly secrets. Saundra masterfully weaves a story of suspense and drama that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. With unforgettable characters and shocking twists, this is a fast-paced, unputdownable read for fans of juicy, high-stakes thrillers.
The synopsis of this book was what made me want to read it and Tabitha really was a treacherous wife. The fact that she wanted to rise up in government to help with her real passion, her empire was wild. She was very ruthless and I did not like her character at all for it, especially when we find out what she did with respect to getting Detective King in her sights.
Where the story lost steam for me was Detective King's carelessness when he was trying to solve the biggest cases that he was going after. One, he was a little too trusting of Tabitha when he mentioned her "nephew" to her and the way he went about asking about how he could afford the nice things he had was very suspect. Then the fact that he is getting a lead that could help tie up the loose ends, for him to have been so invested in this case to just give it up was a little unrealistic in how he character was portrayed throughout the book. I was glad we did eventually find out who Gia was since she was mentioned from the beginning but I would have liked that revelation a little earlier in the book.
There were twists in this book that I didn't see coming and it went in a different direction that I thought it would. I understand the ending set up for the next book which I hope comes shortly after this one because it kind of ends on a cliffhanger to see how this is going to end up for Tabitha and her regime.

I really enjoyed this story because Tabatha was very calculated with every move she makes and didn’t let heartbreak stop her from achieving her goals. Then the way everything played out I was excited and on the edge of my seat ready for the finale 🤗. Now if there’s a book 2 I will read it to see what drama comes next.
I've read a few of Saundra's urban fiction books, but this is my first thriller book by her. Let me first say GREAT job!! The book is very fast-paced, and action packed. I couldn't put it down, and literally read in one sitting. Absolutely love the characters and the way the story flowed. Keep them coming please!!

The Treacherous Wife is my first book by this author, Saundra. While I did like it, I didn't love it as much as I wanted to. The beginning started off great, and the storyline and plot were solid. However, along the way, it took so many different twists and turns, ups and downs! While those twists and turns do work for this book because of the subject matter, it was just a little too much for me. I don't recommend reading it. I don't want to give away any spoilers.
