Boom! Once again, the author has delivered a complex mystery wrapped in a layer of life events and frustration for our main character! I love that the author has created a cast of characters that are diverse in race, citizenship, gender and even sexual preferences. It is fun to read a story with a wonderful plot that is complex, yet easy to unravel and follow the breadcrumbs to the solutions alongside our amateur sleuth while also delving deeper into her life and relationships. I think this series does a wonderful job of melding together the life events of the main character with the mystery so that they work together to make a more meaningful read. I love that the author has created a main character that is so different from the usual cozy main characters that I read about. I seriously can't wait for the next book to come out so we can see what happens in Megan's world next!
What do you do when your friends come to visit you in Ireland? Well, when you’re the murder driver, you are apparently double upon a body and find yourself, soothing to figure out who murdered the man you found. All while hoping to keep yourself and your friends safe from a killer.
I have been reading this series since it was first released and absolutely enjoy every single entry in it. Who doesn’t love the foreign setting? I find it even more enjoyable when we have an American in that setting and I can relate to them a little more.
Catie Murphy, we together a strong female protagonist, cute puppies, a gorgeous celebrity, along with mystery and mayhem in each and every entry. This author is on my must read list and I get alerts for every single one of her releases. I wouldn’t miss a single book in this series.
I've reading ms Murphy novels for nearly 20 years (since Urban Shaman) and I'm enjoying the Murder Driver series as I love Megan, her friends and dogs.
They're always solid stories and gripping mysteries.
This one was good and compelling, even if not a favorite as I guessed some of the twists (not because it was easy but sort of gut feeling).
It can be read as a stand-alone but there're references to past cases and characters that appears in previous novels.
Entertaining, enjoyable.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The latest Dublin Driver mystery finds Megan taking her best friend Raf and his wife Sarah across Ireland for their vacation. However, they stumble across a body of a famed druid - who also was a lord. Megan finds herself drawn in yet again.
This one almost felt like the closing of a series, but it wasn't? There were just things and plot developments that made it seem like Megan's story was going to end. Maybe the next one? Or maybe we will have a change of scenery for the next book? I'm hoping though the next one will get back more to the mysteries of the first few I really enjoyed!
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The sixth book in the Dublin Driver Mysteries. I have read one of the previous books and enjoyed it. This one was a good read too.
Megan's girlfriend, Jelana, has broken up with her which is fine with me because she annoyed me in the first book I read. It seems Megan discovers a dead body in each book so it was no surprise when one turned up early in the piece drowned in a holy well. As the title informs us it is the body of an Irish Druid. The leading police officer is a really unlikable man although his uselessness at least has an explanation. Megan and her friends work very hard to build up a case and discover the murderer.
An entertaining read with some very nice characters especially Megan and her friends. There are lots of red herrings and a sudden surprise, for me anyway, at the end when the guilty party is exposed. Well worth reading.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Catie Murphy for providing me with a complimentary digital ARC for Death of an Irish Druid coming out January 21, 2025. The honest opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I haven’t read the other books in the series, but I love cozy mysteries. The Irish setting was lovely. I think Megan is an interesting character. She has a group of friends who support her. I probably should’ve read the other books. It wasn’t quite as cozy as I was thinking. I would check out other books by this author though.
Rewinding is controversial to be sure but would it really lead to murder? Megan finds herself investigating what happened to Seamus (who liked to dress as a Druid) when she and her pals find his body. This is a fun series featuring an American expat in Ireland (and veteran) who drives a limo and meets all sorts of interesting people both dead and alive- and each can be read as a standalone. This time out. Megan is also coping with the fact that her girlfriend broke up with her and with the fact that she's got visiting friends. It's clever and nicely atmospheric. Thanks to netgalley for the ARc. A good read.
Megan is still hurting from her recent breakup, when her bestie from the States arrives with his wife. She can't wait to show them the best of Ireland, meanwhile they're hoping she has a murder case they can help her with. Unfortunately fate intervenes, and they both get their wish at an Irish spot known for bringing wishes true. Megan gets pulled into the case and soon she and her friends, are cavorting with the gentry, as thye try to solve Seamus's death, in an attempt to keep his wild estate as it is. Book 6 of series, offers a bit of freshness with new characters, along with the cozy you expect, for a fast and fun read.
I enjoy the interactions from the MC and her friends. I like being able to visit Ireland in this book. The mystery kept me guessing.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is book six in this delightful series about a limo drive in Dublin. The author has a wonderful way of writing of Irish customs, scenery and the people for her readers. I have read and enjoyed the entire series. The protagonist is savvy and smart as a independent woman.
Megan is happy to have her friends from America visiting. When they are out sightseeing they find a murdered man who was in a fight with the locals over his estate. Megan is determined to investigate with the help of her friends. Much to the chagrin of the local police who say it was a accident. Megan is sure it was not. Soon she is finding nefarious dealings in the village and has potential suspects in her sights.
Each book in this fun series is a fun visit to Ireland. I enjoy the rich characters, the well crafted writing and always the exciting sleuth. Well done to the author.
Thank you to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.
I have read book one in this series, so I had a little background on Megan Malone but this is book six in this delightful series. That said there were some characters that I didn't know but it was not a problem. Catie Murphy does a wonderful job of writing a story that could be read as a stand-alone book I will say I love this series and will be going back and reading books 2-5 to get more of the adventures of Megan Malone.
Do you love cozies? Do you enjoy reading about Ireland and its lovely people? Do you like intelligent and funny lead women characters? How about cute dogs? Well then get to reading this series you will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't!
I enjoyed this book, but it does feel flat in places. I feel like Asling is the most developed character. Since this is a continuation of a series, it feels like the development of the main character was dropped. The story itself is interesting & complex, lots of twists. #DeathofanIrishDruid #NetGalley
"Death of an Irish Druid (The Dublin Driver Mysteries #6)" by Catie Murphy is a fairly standalone book. Megan has her American best friend and his wife visiting her in Ireland. Of course she just has to find a dead man at their first tourist stop. Catie also discovers she's more well known for her crime solving than she realized.
So, I totally called it on who the culprit was. I kind of figured it was them because they seemed a bit out of place from the rest of the story. Also, it was a bit of a "what if?" thought train.

This enjoyable series features a fun Irish setting and main character Megan Malone, ex-military and ex-pat. Megan drives a limo which gives her plenty of opportunity to trip over dead bodies. She actually likes investigating and shrugs off the police dislike of her interference.
Her best friends from America have just arrived and they are sight seeing at St Brigid's Well when Megan discovers the body of a local character -- he dresses like an old Druid priest and is infamous as an Anglo-Irish aristocrat who owns a huge estate that he is partially rewilding.
Her Garda buddy is off on vacation and the local constabulary is not as kind to Megan when she starts butting in. The interactions with Megan and her friends is fun. Megan's girlfriend ended their relationship in a previous book due to Megan's propensity for getting involved in murder cases, so Megan has a little something to prove in this one. A very readable series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ex-pat Megan Malone is excited about showing her American chums around her new home in Ireland, but they've just begun touring when they run into a body -- and it turns out to be a famous and controversial body. Malone is getting a bit famous and controversial herself, and in this adventure she pals up with the heiress to a major estate.
Megan and her friends get a chance to see how the other half lives while learning a bit about Irish legends and customs. It's a lively book with unusual characters and plenty of local color.
Megan Malone, expat American and former military, is now a limousine driver in Dublin, Ireland. She’s become known as the ‘murder driver’ for her unfortunate habit of finding murder victims at various locations while driving her clients. This time, her best friend and his wife are visiting Ireland for the first time and Megan’s taking them to visit St. Brigid’s shrine. While they’re soaking up the atmosphere, Megan’s bad luck streak continues, and she discovers her latest body of a man who fell into St. Bridgid’s well. When she meets his distraught teenaged daughter, Megan’s supportive instincts are heightened and she steps in to help Aisling navigate competing family interests as well as a local Garda officer who’s heard of the ‘murder driver’ and isn’t impressed. Now, to solve the mysteries and save her friend’s visit to Ireland! I enjoy this series, and like other readers, I’m happy the focus is back on the cozy mystery and off of Megan’s breakup with her girlfriend. I recommend visiting Ireland with Megan, any time.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!
I’m always happy to read a book in this series, although I’ve been absent for the past few. I was excited to receive an eARC to continue my ride along with Megan!
This time she isn’t sure a murder has even occurred, but feels like she needs to be there for her new friend, Aisling. Aisling’s father was the victim, and although we’re missing the personal connection since Megan never actually meets him, we learn more through his relationships about him. Megan uses a mix of her personality and her connections to sort through the suspects and finally resolves the case.
I really did enjoy this one, and Dip and Thong were lovely as always. There were times when I felt like it was two steps backwards all the time in the investigation, and I also felt like this was a bridging book to the next chapter in Megan’s and her friend’s lives, and for that reason I went with four stars.
This was a good cozy mystery book, and I enjoyed reading every minute of it. I haven't read the rest of the series, but I am interested now. It was a well written mystery that kept me interested. I loved the character of Megan, she was witty and intelligent. Thank you Net Galley ARC
I received a free copy of, Death of an Irish Druid, by Catie Murphy, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book six in The Dublin Driver Mysteries series. I love Ireland and its people, they are so nice, and friendly. In this book Megan is happy to show her American friends Ireland, until they happen upon a dead body. Can Megan solve a mystery, and save her friends vacation to Ireland> This is a really good cozy mystery, in one of the best locations in the world.
