A page turner with exciting action, book three of the The Ghost Squad delivers on humour as well as poignancy. Whilst this is the third book, it can be read as a standalone. Tax is the latest squad member featured in his own book. Tax's life as a military medic has been beyond tough and he is ready to lay down and never come back up. A storyline with a military vet will always pull me in.

Tax has a end game plan. This is completely disrupted by a wild card, Meg Callahan. Meg seems to be doing well for herself in the Sin City. Her job is one I love to read about - Wedding planning. I find being a wedding planner so fascinating and exhilarating. I do love logistics so it tracks. When Meg is tasked with keeping an eye on Tax, it should be easy peasy. He's an adult. He should be fine. What's funny for me is that Tax is also tasked with 1 job. Keep Meg safe. When the bullets start flying, all I can think of for them is, "you had one job! One job!"

I liked both Tax and Meg. They are no nonsense people living their life. They are not victims. They come up with ways to work together, abet a bit grumpily at first. The situation they are plopped into is a bit wild but they manage it. I think it's the planner in Meg and Tax's obvious job experience. The pace of this book picks up quickly and keeps moving forward in a thrilling ride. I read this till the wee hours of the night and ended satisfied. Whilst the story implies that Meg needs the saving, I think we all know it is Meg who saved Tax. This is a lovely romantic suspense recommended to readers who enjoy action flicks with a dash of romance.

I always enjoy Saintcrow's books and this one continues my enjoyment. Fast paced with a kick butt protagonist. Story flows and keeps the reader engaged. Amid lots of really cruel and dangerous people two people find love. Thanks #Netgalley and #BelleBooks for the eARC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are mine.

The characters in this book are quirky, deadly and often funny. The build up is to a wedding when everything that could happen did. During which two unlikely people find their person while dodging bullets. Loved the ending!
