Action starts right away and kept me riveted for the first 30%. Good character & situational build up. Early action makes you wonder who is who and who’s on the side of good. The pace did slow down a bit after that providing some needed background info.
Looking forward to seeing where things go in the next book.

Me no likey. I find this being quite an unplausible story, where the secret service agent is sent to a mission - that is, well, truly not a mission, and his agency is not what it seems to be. His girlfriend is also not what she seems to be.
Too much James Bond with a license to kill being given very out very easily, too little of realism.

This book was excellent. I enjoyed the intrigue and suspense in it, but it almost felt cozy in a way. It was like reading a 1960's spy TV show. It was more accurate and gritty, but still had that heart in it. I don't know how to describe this better, but trust me when I say this is a great read.
I recommend this to anyone who likes Man from UNCLE, Get Smart, or American Arcadia.

Thank you NetGalley for this copy, my opinions are my own. This book was fast-paced, action-filled, and downright entertaining. Already looking up to see when book 2 will come out. Listening to it as an audiobook, and the style it was written, it felt like I could see it in my mind as a movie unfolding which made it all the more enjoyable.

I mostly enjoyed this story. The story was interesting and fast paced with some interesting characters and turns. There are several places I found confusing in the story (which is why this is not a 5 star). I have not read the first book which may clear up the confusion. I just felt like I was missing something. Outside of that, this is a really good story. Personally, I think the audiobook is better, I finished it in one day because I couldn't put it down.
