The Fake Wedding Project- Pippa Grant
Narrated by CJ Bloom and Connor Crais

This was so cute in a Romeo and Juliet meets Hallmark Christmas movie type of way. I loooove a good Romeo and Juliet/feuding families trope, in fact I think it might be my favorite trope, so I was excited to read this one. It was so funny to see how deeper and deeper they kept digging themselves into their lies as they kept up with the fake engagement. This book had me cracking up the whole time!

Connor and CJ did absolutely amazing on this narration! They portrayed the perfect Amanda and Dane in this dual narration.

Loved this so much! Dane and Amanda to cute! Loved this unique Christmas town and love story with a tad of mystery tied together with a fued. Very Romeo and Juliet esque. Wish the epilogue wasn’t from that pov though. It was a rad odd.

Sadly the narrators aren’t for me so I didn’t enjoy the book. The premise and characters were great but the voices were hard on my ears.

💍Fake Relationship
💍Holiday Rom-Com

My Very first Pippa Grant book and I loved it so much.
If you’re a fan of Romeo and Juliet but without the tragic ending then this is an amazing Rom Com for you.

The Banter and the monologue is fantastic the Capulets and the Montague’s have nothing on the Andersons and the Silvers of Tinsel, Michigan. This story had Hallmark vibes written all over. You got feuding families, a Christmas town called Tinsel, best friend’s older brother, a fake engagement and wedding to plan in ONE WEEK, and a cabin with one bed. What more can you ask for! This was a perfect Holiday Rom-Com for sure.

Amanda and Dean were the best together they got along so well it was so easy to follow along. These two were amazing together and the epilogue was hilarious. Never seen it coming, it was a perfect ending to this amazing book.

The audiobook and the narrators did a fantastic job they really brought the characters to life. it had me really focus on the story line and I could picture everything in my mind. truly a phenomenal duo and narration.

In the Romeo and Juliet meets Hallmark Christmas movie there are two warring families that are brought together by a fake engagement. Amanda is trying to get out of taking over the gingerbread business so she says the one thing that would have her disowned ... she is engaged to Dane Silver. The two work together to bring their families together in this cute but spicy holiday story. Can the two families get along in time?

This is a cute story that involves fake engagements, family secrets, warring families, a town exhausted by the feud, and a lazy dog named Chili. The narration of this book so good. Connor Crais and CJ Bloom are two of my favorites. I loved seeing the mystery of the feud unravel and the town trying to end the fighting that has caused issues for years. This might not happen over Christmas but in a town like Tinsel, it is Christmas all year.

This one was cute and I found myself smiling and laughing like I normally do with Pippa Grant books. While I'm normally a sports girl this one was just a cute holidayish read for me.

brb — moving to tinsel, michigan 🎅🏼🎄

this book is definitely romeo and juliet, meets hatfield’s and mccoy’s—but as a romcom with all the steamy hallmark vibes.

amanda anderson announces she is engaged in a panic when her family expects her drop everything and take over their bakery. to make matters even more crazy, she tells them her fiancé is dane silver—without him knowing. the fruitcake loving silver’s and the gingerbread loving anderson’s have hated each other for generations, but the new generation is tired of secret friendships and holding grudges no one even knows what they are. so amanda and dane decide to keep the charade going, fake dating through fake wedding planning to try to mend the rift between their families. it’s supposed to be temporary, but it starts to not feel fake at all.

the small town romance, best friends brother, spicy forbidden romance goodness had me eating this right up. plus i love a cute, lazy dog and the little mystery is so much fun.

the fake wedding project is the perfect intro to holiday romance without being an overly christmas romance because it’s set in a town that’s christmas themed all year but it’s not actually december. a must read to get you into the holiday spirit.

i adored this audio. Connor Crais and CJ Bloom are perfect for these characters. he really helps dane’s sweet, thoughtful and sexy personality shine. and she is perfect for amanda’s spunky, hilarious charm. i couldn’t keep the smile off my face while listening.

This book was very ok to me. I’m kind of bummed. I had high hopes with how everyone raves about her books but this kind of fell flat to me. There wasn’t enough of a history or connection between the MMC and FMC. I think I was missing some tension. And I just really didn’t like the last chapter at all. I was cringing. The book as a whole wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t for me.

I am always a sucker for fake relationship and feuding families, so the fact that this had both had me sold immediately. I couldn’t put it down and was alternating between my kindle and the audio.

Dane was so swoony and always put Amanda first. He stood up to both of their families and the fact that he’s always had a crush on her melted my heart. I also loved Amanda’s friendship with Dane’s sister.

If you’re looking for a romcom book that reads like a spicy Hallmark movie, this is it! This book takes place around August, but Tinsel feels like Christmas year round. I love Pippa Grant's writing!

ho ho holy crap i loved this book! as a die hard fan a hallmark movies, this book would fight right in with their christmas in july theme! a town that’s Christmas all year round, two feuding families fighting over something people don’t even remember, and two people from those families fake engaged to hopefully stop the feuding. it was fast paced, intriguing, and the love story had a depth to it that i never wanted to stop reading it. Dane and Amanda were so cute and i loved watching them fall in love.

This is such a sweet and fun rom-com! I live for all things holiday-vibes, so to have a story set in a holiday-loving smalltown called TINSEL?! Can I move there?! This one has some Romeo and Juliet type vibes with two rival families..only this one has a fake dating element too.

There are lots of laughs and fun small town/holiday antics, bickering octogenarians that are always a riot, the most hilarious dog, a bit of mystery, and plenty of sweet and spicy moments with Dane and Amanda, our leading characters. It’s full of Pippa humor and wit, and definitely helped me feel all festive for the season. If only the cover actually matched those vibes!

The audio narration for this one is fantastic. Connor Crais is probably my favorite male narrator, and he brought so much deliciousness and fun to this role. And CJ Bloom is always delightful. Truly the dream team of narrators - really found the narration enhanced the experience for more.

Ok first, I’m obsessed with Christmas. You are giving me a book about a town called Tinsel that does Christmas all year long. Yes, please!

There is a long standing family feud between the fruit cake company and the gingerbread bakery. I mean how adorable is that?! What is the younger generation to do when they are sick and tired of this ridiculous family fighting? A fake engagement, of course. You know what happens when they do this right? They fall for each other.

The whole story is adorable and I am here for it! Such a fun listen. And then the epilogue was hilarious. I highly recommend listening to or reading this book. Super lighthearted and just what you need sometimes.

This book is laugh out loud funny! Like I had tears coming out of my eyes. I adore this sweet friends to lovers romance. It had the perfect amount of everything to make such a good story. The spice was there but it wasn’t overly done or descriptive. Just enough to break tension and ass to the story. ❤️❤️

A town called Tinsel? Christmas all year, even in 90 degree heat? A VERY dramatic grandma and a family FUED? YES MAAM. Sign me Up!!

AND A bonus Epilogue with Chili the dog?? I LOVE IT. 😂😂😂

If all of these things are on your bingo card, definitely go pick this up on kindle, audio, or paperback!

Just pure perfection and the perfect narrators. I felt like it went by so quick but that's because I was fully emerged and enjoying it so much. I found myself just stopping what I was doing and sitting and listening to the story. I really loved the pacing and story telling and the narrators brought it all to life. I just love everything Pippa writes, she is always a go to author for me.

If you are looking for a cute story to get you in the mood for Christmas, this is the one! It has all the Hallmark vibes but add a bit of spice to it!

Read if you like:
Fake engagement
Feuding families
Best friend's brother
Close proximity
Small town
Holiday vibes

This was such a fun one, with endearing characters and a whole lot of hilarious situations. From the first chapter I already felt like I knew these characters. I feel like both characters were so uncomplicated, looking for happiness and not wanting to be part of any confrontation. I could definitely relate to them a lot (I'm a 9 here). They had such a great relationship, very understanding of each other and supportive as well, no red flags!

I adore fake dating and even more when it is mixed with close proximity, so I definitely was screaming and kicking my feet while reading this. Our main characters had undeniable chemistry and so much tension going on, I loved it all. The book takes place over a short time period, but since these characters knew each other since forever and had a bit of a crush already it was still all believable to me that they would fall for each other that quick.

The rivalry between the families was so diverting, and I loved the idea of pushing the town together by faking a relationship. Even though it is Christmas themed because of the town, the book still takes place in summertime which I can't complain about because I'm not a fan of winter, haha. I quite enjoyed the mystery part over why were those families enemies.

Let's not forget about my favourite character: Chili the dog! I swear, I usually hate epilogues (yeah, I'm weird) but let me tell ya, that epilogue was the best one ever and simply solidified my love for this book, thanks to Chili.

So yeah, this was fun, fast, very enjoyable and with some steam to it. A perfect palate cleanser in between heavier books too!

The audiobook was simply fantastic to listen to! Connor Crais, my gosh, what a dreamy voice.

Thanks to Hambright PR, NetGalley and the author for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

This was a super fun listen and the narrators were spot on for their characters. They also did a great job with the side characters, and there were a lot of them! This was a cute and fun retelling of Romeo and Juliet without the tragedy and I thought it was so interesting that it took place in a Christmas town...but not at Christmas. I like how that all played into the family feud.

Overall, this was a really cute book! I enjoyed the characters, their antics, and the cozy, Hallmark-style holiday vibes.

Plot Thoughts: While the premise of a fake engagement to resolve a family feud that is somehow impacting an entire town might seem a bit far-fetched, it cleverly introduced some intriguing mystery and complex family dynamics. Even though the story unfolds over just a week (leaning into that classic insta-love territory), the slow-burn romance kept me invested and made it feel truly rewarding. I did find myself craving a bit more of the mystery element—maybe it’s the October vibes getting to me!

Character Thoughts: The characters were endearing, but I struggled to feel completely connected to them. I adored some of the side characters, and the family dynamics were wonderfully chaotic (just as intended!). Overall, I found myself rooting for everyone and enjoying their quirks, but I wished for a deeper connection to the main cast.

👍🏻Would recommend for a lighthearted, cozy read!
