Tillie Cole has a knack for crafting heart wrenching stories, and this book is no exception. It left me with mixed emotions- I both loved and hated it. The characters, Bonnie and Cromwell, were captivating. Bonnie’s down-to-earth nature and her ability to reach Cromwell were beautifully portrayed. Cromwell journey from being lost to rediscovering his passion for music was compelling. Although the ending was predictable, the story was thoroughly engaging and has stayed with me even a few days after reading it.

Yall.... 😭😭 Why do I do this to myself? I was crying nonstop from the middle to the end. I loved Bonnie in every single way possible. She deserved the best. Cromwell had pain he needed to work through, and I'm so glad he found Easton and Bonnie. They all touched me so much, it was beautiful watching Cromwell's character development from start to finish. This had me gripped, heartbroken, and healed in another way. These characters touched my soul. The author ripped out my heart. The epilogue healed it a little bit, though.

I received the Deluxe Edition ARC from NetGalley and Bloom Books to read/review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

I really thought I would love this book because I loved 1000 boy kisses but I didn’t. This was a similar feel but it was so predictable. I literally guess everything that was going to happen which just made it boring. Lastly, why would you make the MMC a smoker when the FMC has heart failure and the FMC mentions how he smells of cigarettes while she is on oxygen?? 🥴 🤦🏻‍♀️ This just wasn’t for me.

I was not ready for this damn, that story was so heartbreaking in the best way possible.

I really liked how the characters had complex backstories that shaped who they were, and watching them grow and change felt both rewarding and touching. While the pacing was well done and kept me engaged, I did find it a bit hard to get into the book at first.

This was my first book by this author and I’m definitely looking forward to read more from her. Her ability to weave emotional journeys with relatable characters is something I’d love to see more.

Tillie Cole is one of those writers that I don’t even bother reading what the book is about, because I know it will be good and this was no different. A Wish for Us follows two very gifted characters and their own deeply rooted mental and physical struggles. Both Bonnie and Cromwell passion and livelihood is music. Bonnie, a writer and guitarist. And Cromwell a DJ with a childhood in classical music. One thing Tillie is really good at is writing on heavier topics, and this book is no exception. I cried my eyes out at the end, and am still on the fence if I consider this to be a HEA. It’s definitely a story that will live rent free in mind for years to come.

*mental heath, physical heat h, and suicide are very much present in this story. So I would suggest reading Tillies trigger warnings before diving in.

When EDM star Cromwell and classically trained Bonnie are partnered together in a music composition class, worlds collide in every way, and just when they start to get into their groove, Bonnie’s secret could destroy it all.

YA can get a bad rap, but this one was excruciatingly lovely and well written. Cromwell’s synesthesia (he can hear colors 🤯) was so interesting to read about and added beauty and emotion to the plot. There’s the name of an iconic teen movie that I want to reference so badly but it’ll ruin Bonnie’s secret. A lot of this book will be spoiled if too much is revealed so I’m going to stop here. Get your tissues and a copy of this book stat. And when you’re done let’s chat.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I loved A Wish for Us by Tillie Cole. I know this is a re-release of the deluxe version and this is also the third book that I have read from Tillie Cole. I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and the character buildup. I found Cromwell and Bonnies connection to music so fascinating especially Cromwells amazing gift with music. I have never read a story with a person being able to see colors which I found beautiful. I loved the enemies to lovers, close proximity, slow burn, brothers best friend tropes. It was definitely an emotional and heartfelt read. Get your tissue box ready because there are parts of the book that will have you crying.

Thank you Netgalley for this beautifully written book.

The romance was sweet and there was some mild spice moments. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. There were a lot of trigger warnings in this book so definitely look those up before going into this book. I really enjoyed this book. Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.

Yes I did cry a lot!

“It was if my father were watching over me. Showing me the way back to happiness. This—music—my greatest lost love, only found again thanks to one girl in a purple dress”.

A wish for us is a beautifully crafted, emotionally charged romance that explores the transformative power of music, love, and healing.

Bonnie and Cromwell’s connection is magnetic, with Bonnie serving as the burst of color that Cromwell so desperately needs, while he becomes the rhythm that brings her strength.

It’s also a beautiful exploration of how love can help us heal and rediscover our true selves, even when our pasts threaten to consume us.

Also, the twin relationship between Easton and Bonnie was very relatable as a twin it broke my heart completely.

Rated 5 ⭐️

Cromwell is a young man who can see and feel music to another level, but his social skills lack and walks around with dark and stormy vibes. Bonnie is a breath of fresh air, also doing the right thing, thinking positive, and looking at the best of every situation. When they get paired up for a term long project for school, it's seems like oil and water, but eventually they see the real person behind their emotions.

An emotionally charged book about 2 broken people. 1 mentally and 1 physically. Life has been tough for both of them, but together, they see how beautiful life can be. There was so much emotion written in these pages. This was a beautiful rollercoaster of a book that almost brought out tears (not an easy thing to do). I wish I could've seen the gala for myself because the way it was written was a visual experience I'd enjoy myself.

Thank you to Netgalley, Tillie Cole, and the publishers for this free ebook. This review is 100% my own and honest opinion.

Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this. I knew going into it that it was going to be a sappy romance. I expected heart break and mushy prose. I really enjoyed the first half of the book. I read it quickly. I liked the story. The writing was good. The plot was unique, it just… maybe should’ve been 100 pages shorter?

I know this is a re-release of a deluxe version and there are thousands of Tillie Cole fans who love this one, saying it gave them all the feels. It had all the classic tropes - enemies to lovers, force proximity, brother’s best friend, slow burn, grumpy sunshine. It had all the makings to be really cute. However, the end fell flat.

At the end of the day I was bored with how predictable it was and I just wanted it to end. This book is probably for a lot of people, but it’s not for me.

This book was beautiful. I have never read a character that could hear colors, and I was absolutely fascinated by this concept. Tille always brings the emotions, and this was no exception. It was raw and gritty and absolutely beautiful.

This book broke me

Cromwell & Bonnie

Music. Heart. Healing

Don’t even get me started on the MMC & he’s British to top it off.

I suspected the plot twist but wasn’t prepared for it to be confirmed. I spent half the book bawling my eyes out. And just when I thought I was ok it just got worse.

The descriptions and colours in this book were beautiful.

Hands down recommend this book but be prepared to have your emotions all over with this read. Be prepared with a box of Kleenex. This was just get you at the heart.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc opportunity.

Thanks NetGalley to let read this ARC. Before reading this I learned it was rerelease. But this is my 2nd Tillie Cole book after read A thousand boy kisses. Bonnie meets Cromwell at party while he is DJ a set. She also has a twin brother named Ethan. He is her best friend. Later on to find out that Bonnie has heart failure and is dying pretty soon. Ethan takes upon himself to commit suicide so his sister Bonnie can have his heart. She survives with a transplant of her brother's heart. The whole family is was broken to pieces about it. She goes on to marry Cromwell after college. They end up having a son and naming him Ethan. 🤍

Well, shit. I wasn't looking forward to this one, but I read it in less than 24 hours. This book is a masterclass in how to emotionally damage a reader in a quick 342 pages.

Cromwell Dean has had a tough go. He sticks to his music, drinking, and women to keep him occupied. Bonnie Farraday creates music to keep her going. She wants that to be her future, but due to unfortunate circumstances, she doesn't know how much time she has left. The moment she sees Cromwell Dean, she's disappointed. She knows his potential but knows that he won't take advantage of his talents. As the two get closer, they both realize that their bond is one that cannot be broken. They are going to have to figure a way to be together. Even if it kills them.

This book will stick with me for a long time. I zipped through it almost too quickly. Although, I knew how it was going to end, I was hooked on this story. An emotionally packed novel that will keep your breathless until the very end.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC on this special edition!

Book:
A WISH FOR US by Tillie Cole
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the earc (Dec 3)

Review:
3⭐
A WISH FOR US is a riveting tale of love, heartbreak, and loss that left my emotions high and heart heavy.
Cromwell Dean is a popular EDM artist who has lost his love for the music he used to play. When he meets Bonnie, his life is sent on a roller coaster as he grapples with the need to play, and the loss that seems to be around the corner.
A WISH FOR US is a bingeable read with descriptions that paint a picture in colors. The story itself is one of finding yourself, losing yourself, and everything in-between. From the beginning the reader is pulled into a story of a rebel and a girl who just wants music. As it progresses, the reality of everything sets in, and the stakes and emotions run higher than ever.
This book kept me on my toes: emotionally. From the multiple revelations to the everything Cromwell did for Bonnie and Easton's demons, there was a lingering sense of heartbreak, and emotions were high. And emotional I was. I cried. And then I cried some more. A WISH FOR US is a tearjerker.

This book has really strong topics discussed that may be triggering to some...read at your own risk.
