Yes, I read a lot of books on nutrition, health and well-being. This one was definitely an interesting and different read. Its focus is on teaching the reader about hydrophilic foods (foods that are water-loving and usually high in fiber) and how to incorporate them in our diet in an effective way. The logic is that these foods will make you feel full more easily than other foods. Like many other popular diets, the HD diet also advocates eliminating foods such as complex carbs, sugars and processed foods. There are a lot of practical tools for incorporating this diet into one's weight loss journey. This book's target audience are folks who are focused on weight loss - you'll find recipes, food log charts, weight loss contracts and numerous other weight loss aids.

This book offers some new concepts but rooted in practices that are present in some of the other diets. It might feel a bit complex/complicated for some readers but for those looking for something new and potentially different, this might be the way to go.

Grateful to NetGalley and Rodale Inc for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange with an honest review!
