While the first book is for the ones who are searching for their light in a world full of shadows and the second book for those who lost sight of their dreams, the third (and last 😐) book is for the overthinkers. The ones who think their life into a pile of shattered little pieces and feel like it will never add up to a whole picture again.

This series is a hopeful spoiler: you'll shine bright again, you'll find new dreams & the new picture will be more beautiful than before. 🤍

Book 1 is about Grace & Cal.
Book 2 takes place 17 years later and is about Maddie & James (Maddie is Cal's sister).
Book 3 takes place 13 years after the second book and is about Lila & Reed (Lila is Grace & Cal's daughter).

Lisina, thanks for allowing us to watch our favourite characters grow old together.

Lila & Reed's love story is so many things. Beautiful and quiet, even though it should be loud and wrong. The 'it just makes sense' kind of love. I learned so many things about the work with kids and especially about myself. Lila and her overthinking reminded me so much of myself that I wanted to shake her. I was so annoyed because she has shown me my own flaws. But I immediately felt seen and less alone. Reed and her gave me hope - you can crawl out of your head. It's hard work, but it's possible. 🤍

What a slow burn. Really enjoyed the simmer of this one while we waited for the two to get together.

Right there with Ali Hazelwood in the STEM world girls. With so much informations involved and a great environment for the swooning and crushing to happen.

Really looking forward to reading the other books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Lisina Coney for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been waiting so long for this book, after reading the the first 2 in the series this year, The Deepest End of Love, has been one of my most highly anticipated books of the year. And it did not disappoint.

This book was so good as a standalone as well as reading it as part of the series but experiencing the characters from the other books and seeing them grown up and living their own lives was also such a fun thing to read.

I love age gap romances, but seeing that it was grad student/supervisor, was a new topic for me but one I’m not opposed to reading. It didn’t feel like Lila was immature or vulnerable which can be a misconception when seeing grad student/supervisor on the tropes, but her and Reed were both consenting and very mature adults who were aware of the consequences having a relationship could cause. I loved seeing how even though Lila knows Reed, due to him being a family friend, they form a separate bond though their similarities and interests rather than just though the fact that Reed is friends with her dad.

Lila was such a strong FMC, being a people pleaser and wanting to make everyone around her proud can be hard and its a lot of weight on her shoulders, but Lisina wrote it in a way that was relatable for myself and others while also showing how Lila started to move on and progress, how she started making decisions for her and not because she thinks its what her parents want. Her growth throughout the book was mesmerising and quite inspiring.

As well as Lila, I felt that Reed was such a strong MMC, one that fits very nicely with the other men in this series. His story and him searching for way to eventually learn to heal was heartbreaking but so necessary. I loved how grounded he felt when Lila was around and how he had never felt loved until she entered his life. I love reading books where the MMC isn’t afraid to admit when he is struggling and actually, when they need that special someone to bring them back. In this instance, it was Lila.

The pair of them together just fit so well and you could see how much they loved and cared about the other, (even if I hated every minute of their “break up”). They both needed to heal and figure out who they were individually before being what the other person needed together. The third act break up, as much as it was necessary for the characters and the plot, it also felt very sudden and lasted for a bit too long for my liking, but this doesn’t change the fact that the way they came back together was so natural and almost like starting again that it had me giggling my way through.

This was such a heartfelt and swoon worthy end to this series but I’m grateful i got the chance to experience it and read it. These characters will always have a place in my heart, and I can’t wait to see what is next for this author.

This story follows a young woman who is about to graduate and needs a internship but the only one who can give it to her is the professor of the school who is also her parent’s friend. I read the first book which I loved, somehow didn’t get the second one but was so glad to be able to read the last book in the trilogy. I was instantly hooked with the story and could not put it down. Coney did such an amazing job writing this book. She made it cute, heartfelt, and gave the characters such amazing learning moments. The pacing was wonderful and I enjoyed coming back to this small world. This book is told from both Lila and Reed’s pov.

Lila is the FMC of the story who broke up with her ex and is now looking for an internship. I was easily able to relate to her character and loved seeing her grow. Then we have Reed who has trauma from his past but I loved seeing his side of the story as he’s in his 30, a counselor but still figuring out things for himself. Seeing his grow but also helping others was very inspirtational and I enjoyed that. We do have other characters in this book ands I loved seeing the old characters come back in this story with them still being involved. The romance is age-gap, teacher/student, and grumpy x sunshine with some steamy scenes but I believe just 1-2.

The ending was well done and I loved how the story ended. It was so well written and there was so many cute moments. I really enjoy Coney’s writing style as her characters are relatable or have such amazing growth that is inspiration. I recommend checking out this book or the series because you don’t want to miss out.

*this book was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*

3 age gap romances?? Are you kidding me??? Professor x student..

Lila, bless her heart, is such a strong intelligent FMC. At such a young she knew what her goal was in life, she just needed an opportunity. She's free spirited and I felt she really spoke with her heart in every situation. Your young twenties really get you. You are trying to decide what you want to do with your life and become the best you can be. Lila used her p
personal experience and the experiences of those around her to really reach for a career she loves and is passionate about. I saw myself in Lila when it came to getting inside your head too much. She really cared what people thought of her, even when her achievements were above and beyond. She seemed to never really trust how strong and powerful she could be. Her support system was fantastic and only encouraged her.
Dr. Abner; Reed, was a splitting image of Lila or vice verse. They had so many similarities that it was inevitable that they were going to get together. Their love for the foster care system and youth children is something that I don't see a lot of in books. Both felt that environments like this can only be better for the children. Reed only learned from his personal experience. I loved how majority of this centered around the children and how real life examples were shown.

I wish there was more of an emotional connection chemistry from both MC, I did feel like it was somewhat just physical. I wanted to see that stages of their relationship growing.

Lisina Coney hit the mark with this trilogy. All 3 age gaps and all 3 different.

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I was not aware that this book is #3 of a series when I started it, and must say that it would work as a standalone story as well. The Deepest End of Love is a contemporary romance that explores the complicated relationship between Lila Callaghan, a master’s student, and Reed Abner, a charismatic professor and family friend. After an embarrassing run-in involving Lila's impulsive act of revenge, she tries to avoid Reed as much as possible, failing miserably. To make matters worse, she's eventually forced to be in close proximity to him as she gets an internship at the youth centre that he volunteers for and he becomes her supervisor. The story explores the topics of forbidden attraction, age gaps, and personal dilemmas as Lila battles her growing feelings for Reed navigating their professional relationship. It's important to note that this is a slow burn, I would say that it takes 45-50% of the book before anything even happens between Lila and Reed - for this reason, I felt it was a bit too slow paced for my taste, but fans of slow burn romances will undoubtedly love it as the writing style is impeccable and there's a lot of depth to the characters' development and the tension building between them.

Thanks to NetGalley, Lisina Coney and Victory Editing for allowing me to review this book.

This was the third book in the Brightest Light series. This series follows a mom, sister, and daughter on their journey through abuse and love. All three books have a large age gap, and books two and three have the much appealing, ~forbidden love~ trope thing going. This book touches alot on the positive impact counseling centers have on children’s mental health. It’s a nice wrap of up the series, and was great to see Lila’s character transformation.

Lila’s ultimate goal is to be a youth counselor. She’s finishing up her masters program, in desperate need of an internship in order to graduate, and just had a nasty breakup with her boyfriend. Reed, 12 years her senior, a professor at her school, and her parents’ good friend (as I said before very forbidden) offers her a job at his youth center. It’s a dream for her, but it’s super difficult to ignore the attraction her and Reed clearly have for eachother. Will they be able to keep things professional and resist the temptation? Definitely not!

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice:🌶️🌶️

This was probably the slowest of slow burns I’ve ever read but let me tell you after all that tension and build up the reward was so worth it! The Deepest End of Love is the third and final installment in The Brightest Light series, and this is quite a bittersweet ending because I fell in love with each of the characters from every book, their stories, and their romances so while I was excited to see how Lila’s story played out I’m a bit sad to see the end of such an amazing series. Lila is a graduate student who is so so close to graduating with her masters degree, but when she gives up an amazing internship opportunity to spend the summer with her boyfriend who she finds out has been unfaithful… well she finds herself in a bind because she can’t find another internship, something she needs to graduate. It just so happens though that one of her moms colleagues happens to know of an internship for her, but she’s hesitant to take it due to the rumors that might spread about using her moms position to get her in. But when the realization sets in it’s either take the internship or push back graduating she’s quick to jump on an opportunity she wanted to take anyways. When Lila finds out that Dr. Abner didn’t just offer her a internship position but it’s the position directly under his supervision Lila considers running because she knows the rumors on campus are going to be down right brutal if anyone finds out she’s interning with her moms friend, and they’ll deem her more unworthy than they already think of her position not only in the internship but in the masters program in general. Not to mention she may have a teeny tiny little crush on Dr. Reed Abner. Reed has worked with Grace Callaghan for a few years now and while he knows she has a daughter he himself will admit that when people start talking about their families he zones out, he had a pretty rough childhood and figures the less interested he is in people the less interested they’ll be in his own past. That is until the first time he reads Lila’s work… and is blown away by her magnificent brain. And when he sees a girl beaten down by the drama of the world he gives her a little push by mentioning an internship she needs to graduate. However Reed could’ve never imagined how amazing Lila truly was. She was great with the kids, amazing at her work, and whip smart… not to mention gorgeous.
The forced proximity of the internship also forces them to face a few of their own demons, as well as their growing attraction… a growing attraction that may just save them both or ruin them forever. So, if you’re looking for an amazing slow burn, age gap, forbidden romance filled with so many amazing relatable characters, realistic struggles, the cutest little animal sidekick and a happily ever after that will have you crying happy tears than The Deepest End of Love is a must read and should be on every TBR!

HAPPY READING 📖

The final book in The Brightest Light series. It follows Lila who is pursuing her masters in Counseling and her supervisor Reed.

Lila has been feeling intense pressure to follow in her mother’s footsteps and to not take handouts.

Reed has some past pain that has made him not believe in love.

I love how supportive Reed and Lila’s family was towards her when she was stuck and was too worried about what other people thought of her instead of just living her life.

Read this if you like:
•Age gap
•Slow burn
•Forced proximity

Thank you page and vine, netgalley and author for the arc

In The Deepest End of Love, Lisina Coney, entwines deep rooted family trauma, romance, spicy erotica, childhood trauma, friendship troubles, healing and love in such an exciting and beautiful way. I became immediately involved with the storylines and curious as to how Lila’s story would end up. Now I am eager to go back into the beginning of this series and read the first two books! This was an expertly crafted narrative!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I have such a deep love for everything that Lisina Coney writes. This book was such a great way to wrap up the series and all the stories of some of my favorite characters.

From start to finish I was hooked and I loved the complexity of these characters. Grace and Cal are my favorite couple but Reed and Lila have become a very close second. I loved the emotion and the passion that these characters had for their careers. I found myself crying a few times and it's hard not to root for them from the very beginning. Age gap romances aren't my favorite trope but Lisina Coney does such an exceptional job of bringing two characters who are so clearly meant to be together without adding any awkwardness to it.

Overall, such a good read and a series that I highly recommend!

Lisina Coney is the queen of age gap romances, and she delivered yet another perfect story. Once again, my heart was stolen, and I went through a rollercoaster of emotions.

I absolutely loved the mental health representation in this book. Lila’s growth throughout the story was truly heartwarming. And Reed? There’s only one word to describe him: PERFECT.

The slow burn? It was done beautifully! Every moment of tension until they finally gave in — seriously, I devoured every single scene between them.

Huge thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for sending me this ARC!

This book was so relatable as a woman in her 30s trying to figure out where I'm going in life.

I loved the first book in this series and was so excited for the continuation. Admittedly, these aren't my favorite tropes so it was never going to be my most favorite read, but I was pleasantly surprised. Lisina Coney does emotions and dialogue so well, those elements especially shone in this book for me!
