Dual POV Follows Emma and Charlie when they are assigned to work on a project together. It’s haters to lovers (I’d say) as Emma hates Charlie when they begin to work with each other. As time moves on they finally start to get along and Emma comes to Charlie with a favor, as she has been having let’s say “sexual frustrations”. Charlie agrees to the favor and that’s when their relationship starts to progress - I’d say? By the end of the book Charlie had some things to figure out but he pulled it out of the bag and proved to Emma that he was completely different than what she thought in the beginning. As well Emma learned of things from Charlie - As she was a woman in Tech-Startup who was rudely downplayed for her work and for basically being a woman.

I enjoyed this! Interested it what is to come for the future books in the series! 🙂

Thank you Victory Editing and NetGalley for the ARC! 🙂

Dani has outdone themselves again! I cannot put into words how much I love this book! I read it in a matter of hours because I was so hooked to the back and forth, the hate to love, the push and pull of these two. It’s addicting. I loved Emma’s character and related so much to her giving all of herself to others, she is beautifully written and the way she’s able to let loose around Charlie is just a) iconic, and b) refreshing because we all need that one person who allows us to finally let loose. While also relating to Emma, I heavily related to Charlie by being an older sibling and caring so deeply but not able to express it. I think the battles these characters deal with are handled with such grace and care but in a way that’s also real and relatable. The spice is spicing and I ate up the “no feelings” to more dynamic of this plot. There’s so many layers of this story and Dani handles everything so beautifully and wraps everything up perfectly at the end. The last line literally still had me blushing!! Another amazing read from Dani and I cannot wait to see what comes next!

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy!

This book was a quick, enjoyable read with a fun, light-hearted vibe. I loved the characters and the way the romance developed. Even though I didn't always understand the work-related details, it didn't take away from the story's charm. Overall, I’d highly recommend it!

3 stars.

Emma is a woman in tech, Charlie is her colleague. They want the same promotion and end up working together. along the way, the rivals become something else.

The crisis in the third act was a bit surprising, I was hoping that this book would have been one where it wouldn't have happened. However, the crisis was resolved quite well. And the epilogues were good!

I think the best part of the book was actually the description of what it's like to be a woman working in technology. Unfortunately, it must be a fact that women are still belittled in some places in male-dominated fields.

This book was ok to read, but not my favorite. Dani McLean is a good writer and I will continue to read her books.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
* Difficult past
* Dirty talk
* Enemies to lovers
* Family drama
* Forced proximity
* Hea
* Office / workplace romance
* One night stand turned more
* Open doors
* Opposites attract
* Point of view: dual 1st person
* Steamy
* Third act: crisis

THANK YOU SO MUCH DANI MCLEAN AND YOUR TEAM FOR THIS ARC!!

I was actually very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book. I didn’t know much about it prior to reading other than the brief description. I’m not gonna lie, when I read the first few pages with Dani warning her parents to not read, I was a bit worried. I’m not a big fan of smut, so I was afraid that would ruin it for me.
I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and the depth that Dani was able to give both of them. Also, who doesn’t love a good enemy to lovers? I appreciated her tackling the issue that women face in the corporate world and how that affected Emma’s character. I have experienced this is some ways, but I know some women deal with this extensively. Charlie was just so sweet and attentive, what a great book boyfriend! I felt that we really got to know him and his past.
I will definitely be a repeat Dani McLean reader!

This book was so cute and spicy 🥵 Emma and Charlie are gorgeous and this book is a must read. I had the pleasure of reading Mortgage of Convenience earlier this year and when I saw this eARC available I had to request it. If you haven’t read anything of Dani’s and you love spice, you have to check out her books.

Take it offline tells us the story of Emma and Charlie.

Emma works at a tech start-up, being part of a well known family and having a trustfund she's not always taken seriously. Determined to prove she's more than her family name in a male dominated field, she works tirelessly to show what she's made of.

Charlie is a charming, good looking man and is loved by everyone, except Emma. He has had a rough past that helped shape him into the strong, loving man he is today.

They are forced to work together on a project that will determine who will receive a promotion.

The story and the characters are well written. I really did like the character build, the connection the MC's had, their banter...
And don't get me started on the steamy parts, they had me blushing.

I did have trouble understanding the work talk in the book and I thought there were some conversations in the book that didn't really add to the story. Some parts felt very random.
However, I still thought it was an enjoyable book.

Thanks to Netgalley and Victory Editing for the ARC.

I fear this was a tough one for me to get through.

While I was intrigued by the main characters' personal histories and maybe would have enjoyed reading about them in a different setting, the office environment and the corporate jargon was near-impossible for me to follow, I could not confidently tell you what either of these people were meant to have done for a living.

Their relationship had me a bit baffled, they're workplace rivals and despise each other for reasons I can't fully discern because we're told that prior to being forced to work together on this project they've had one less-than-pleasant run-in and otherwise didn't have to see each other because they worked on different floors? Also he's a hit in the office and everyone loves him except her and gasp shock horror he actually doesn't hate her but he lets her hate him because he'll take whatever he can get from her even if it's just hostility. And that's his core belief system even after they start sleeping together.

Elements piqued my interest; Emma's life-long difficulty with sex (immediately thrown out the window the first time she manages to climax with another person present), Charlie's traumatic upbringing, Emma's parents' spending habits, but nothing really came together for me.

Much like Emma, almost poetically, I was unsatisfied at the ending. Nonsense fight for the sake of a third act break up, like four back to back chapters of smut at the end of the story, and then an epilogue that shows a glimpse of their future ten years down the line, and I just didn't care about them enough to want to know.

““Speak up more” are three words I never want to hear again. It’s the “you’d be pretty if you smiled” of the corporate world. I want to rage quit every time it’s uttered.”

Take it offline was a super fun working-place steamy romance.
Emma and Charlie’s story was a super cute one, especially thanks to their back-stories.
It took me a while to get caught by the story (because a lot happens at work, but I never understood what their work project was), but once I did I couldn’t put it down!
I loved how the book explores prejudices, and how the idea they have –about who the other is (based on appearance or name)– makes them false enemies. I loved their ambition, and how it roots in complete opposite background. I also adored how women’s place at work is told, and found the resolution almost exhilarating.
The alchemy between both characters is incredible, making the book steamy as you could wish, especially when Emma uses Charlie with her intimacy problems. Attraction turned into frenemies with benefits, leading to love, works once again perfectly.

Thank you Dani Mc Lean and NetGalley for the ARC. My opinions are my own.

Each and every book she writes becomes a favorite of mine. I fall in love with each main character… Charlie and Emma are no exception.

This book is for the corporate girlies trying to make a name for themselves in a male dominated world. Emma Conway is a trust fund baby who has just recently lost it all due to her families poor financial decisions hence her working her way up the corporate ladder. She is FIERCE 👏

Charlie is the definition of from rags to riches. He only cares about work and the one person that has been solid in his entire life his sister Reese. He is all smarts and makes a suit look damn good… he is also Emma’s rival and worst enemy.

They are both up for the same promotion and are working on a project together for said promotion. They hate everything about each other but find themselves working so well together in the office and in bed 😍👏🥵

Dani’s characters always have such amazing character development!! The banter between these two will have you blushing, hot and giggling. Her books are always a must read! She is my auto buy author!

“My life turned technicolor the second you walked into it. Everything else pales in comparison.”

Dani McLean writes the horniest loveliest stories! perfect for fans of Tessa Bailey, Elena Armas, and Ali Hazelwood, McLean's stories always promise a good time, maybe some angst and feistiness, but always a horny & happy ever after!

I adored Emma in this story! she is looking to be taken seriously, treated professionally and individually outside the reputation of her family. she works so hard to earn her spot in her job, I love her determination, passion, strength, and confidence in her professional life as she battles Charlie for the promotion she has been wanting for years. While I wasn't a fan of Charlie at first, it was only because I hadn't actually gotten to know him yet. At the beginning of the story, through Emma's eyes, he is a piece of work, but as soon as we get his perspective, especially as he witnesses their boss's unfair behavior toward Emma, I immediately see the secret softie hiding behind a hard (sometimes obnoxious) shell. All of which by the way makes me love this story! the different pov's were written soooo well, that I was able to see the characters from the characters perspective-- perfect pov writing in my opinion.

Emma and Charlie are adorable together as they progress from enemies/rivals to lovers! their tension and dislike of the other is written and widdled down so well, especially through their spicy scenes. Charlie especially, I fall in love with with each passing chapter. my boy becomes fully in love with my girl Emma, showing her how wonderful, brilliant, and fully lovely she is. overall there is just so much love and horniess in this story, I loved it so much!

thank you for the arc :)

this one was so so good!!! I mean who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers, work place romance & add in some spicy fun? truly sign me up. I need little convincing.

I really enjoyed this one probably more than I have enjoyed dani’s books in the past, work place, enemies to lovers is a true sweet spot for me, usually always a win. they are both competing for a promotion? who will come out on top?? let’s see after the collaborate on this project… but could it be something more?

Emma & Charlie were a treat. learning about charlie & his character made me truly appreciate him. he is so good at appearing to be charming & easy going & happy, but if you look deeper he has a past that he helped shape him into this wonderful man that he is.

their chemistry was OFFF the charts & they just fit so extremely well together, in the bedroom & out of it ;) iykyk.

I will say the only thing I felt like I struggled with was half the book I didn’t understand anything related to work lol which of course, i’m not in tech. so obviously not, but it did make it hard to follow at times.

Flying my bisexual flag after reading this one. Because I will NEVER choose between Emma and Charlie. I could NEVER! This is definitely one of my favorite opposites attract romances! What made it so fabulous was although their past are so different, it brought them to the same place with the ability to understand and appreciate each other (though, that was a rough road at first). Insert, “assuming makes an” quote here because it is absolutely appropriate! But I LOVED their back and forth while they navigated that together…separately. The annoyance between them felt genuine, and so did Charlie’s crush on her anger towards him. It made me giddy! Emma is stubborn, and that poor man just wanted to appreciate her! Gosh I loved it!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC.

I loved this book. I love that the FMC was trying to prove herself in a male dominated workplace and showing that she didn't just get her job because of her family name. The character herself took a while for me to care about which made it hard to get into at first. The MMC on the other hand. Loved him from the beginning. Mr. Charming but hiding Trauma... OKAYYYYYY.

I didn't understand much of the work related things but that didn't matter to me. I'm here for a good time not a profession.

I am surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It is a very quick read and entertaining once the action begins along with the witty banter between the main characters.

From the beginning there is a strong dislike of the other between Emma (more so) & Charlie - each a nemesis at work, a rival against the other for the same job position and because of their misconceived notions of upbringings. This is all easy to piece together.

Emma & Charlie are forced to work on a project together - yet somehow, they find a lot of other ways to spend time together - despite the whole hating one another aspect. They try to keep the walls they have built up around themselves to protect themselves. It is fairly easy for the reader to predict those will come down throughout the story.

Charlie’s sister - Reese - is such an entertaining character whenever she comes around. I could practically see her slapping Charlie any time he did something stupid when it came to Emma - and she is a younger sister who completely has her brother wrapped around her finger.

I found the book enjoyable but it is very predictable. Once the reader knows more about each character the ending outcome of each situation is easy to figure out.

I do recommend reading this book especially if you need something quick & fun plus, the chapter titles are creative.

Just finished Take it Offline by Dani McLean and I'm feeling a mix of emotions! 📚✨

Dual POV ✅ - This was a game-changer. I loved getting into the minds of both Charlie and Emma.
Workplace Rivals to Lovers ✅ - Classic trope, done right!
Fake Dating ✅ - A fun twist to this trope.
Loving Parents ❤️ - So heartwarming. I loved her parents!
Character Development ✅ - Charlie and Emma were well-rounded and had amazing chemistry. Their banter was everything!
The chapter titles 😂 - I laughed out loud at a few of them.
Trigger warning ⚠️ - Corporate life was triggering at times, but I appreciated the author addressing it. It was nice to see Emma’s self-confidence grow and the support system she had in the workplace.
The last 20% 😕 - I didn't love the the third-act breakup. Felt a bit out of character.

Overall - It's a good read with minimal angst. I could see some of the characters really resonating with readers!

Thank you, Victory Editing and NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much NetGalley for sending me this e-book ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading Dani McLean and boy I am obsessed! 😍 ⭐️

Take it Offline follows Emma and Charlie! Who both work at a tech company and are competing for a promotion. On the other hand, Emma still has feelings for her ex Logan (who’s an absolute jerk 🍅🍅). So she enlists Charlie’s help in order to help win him back!

This book has some of my favorite tropes, rivals to lovers, workplace romance and they both fall hard (they just don’t wanna admit it)

I love Emma and she strived to be more than just a pretty rich girl. She fought to make a name for herself and put down her roots despite people like Robert’s standing in her way.

And Charlie 😍😍😍 I love the way he fought for Emma and his relationship with his sister Reese and how he would go to bat for the women in his life!

Also he volunteers at the animal shelter like are you kidding me! ❤️❤️🐶
