The path to true love never was easy for
besotted arborist (read: professional tree climber) Jamie Sullivan who's still reeling from May - the one who got away.
Down-on-her-luck but fierce Elliot Holland is moving on from antiseptic wards and onto a new city to forget old scars and thank her donor.
As fate would have it, however, the man she was convinced is the love of life happens to be the boyfriend of her donor whose cells quite literally run through her...

The story fell a little flat for me. Don't get me wrong it's a cute read really and although I don't appreciate all the Starbucks promotion this book got, it wasn't a bad read just very forgettable...
I don't quite understand the point of this book's existence? Very odd thing to say.... I liked the story but what was the point? the moral of the story as they'd say? Unsure.
The romance was wholesome yes despite it being an insta love and the banter was present but I just do not understand the very point of the book??? (a confusing but amusing problem to have haha)

Thanks to Montlake. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Elliott doesn't know if she'll have a tomorrow and lives in the moment when she shares a passionate kiss with Jamie. One year on and Jamie's cancer is in remission. She is stunned when she meets her donor Carly as her boyfriend is none other than Jamie. Both are shocked to see each other and all the old feelings are still there...
What a super sweet story this was! Don't get me wrong, I'm usually the first to say that insta love isn't my thing but the connection was so strong with these two that I feel like I may have to be a convert now! Jamie was such a perfect guy and the romance between the two was swoonworthy. Such an emotional journey - my romance reader friends, you'll love this one!

This was a really thoughtful book and I enjoyed Elliot's story. Elliott meets the potential man of her dreams the night before a significant medical procedure. They don't exchange contact info. Fast forward year and she's moved to the city where she met the dream guy. And it turns out he's taken by a woman who helped save her life. What do you do in that e scenario? It's not a love triangle, but it really does grapple with ethics and morals and trying to make the right decision. And all of that's st war with this incredible connection. And weave in the fear of recurrence that comes with health concerns. It adds up to a book that really digs into balancing out what we think we should do (usually prioritizing others perceived needs) with what we want to do (which sometimes can feel selfish). I really enjoyed Elliot and Jamie's slow friendship to lovers romance as they worked through their concerns and attraction.
Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy. All opinions are my own.

Elliot and Jaime meet the night before she undergoes a bone marrow transplant. Elliot wants one night where she doesn't have to be herself and can live for the moment. The connect and Jaime wants to see her again but she doesn't want to ruin the moment. One year later they run into each other again this time with Jaime's new girlfriend who also happens to be Elliot's bone marrow donor. I liked this story but wasn't really as invested in either character as I would've liked to be. The writing was fine and the pace was good I just wasn't all that concerned with what happened to either of the main characters. Would still recommend and giving 3 stars. I want to thank NetGalley and Montlake for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This books makes you feel all of the feels in the best way possible.
This is my first Allison Ashley book and I LOVED it. The relationship between Elliot and Jamie was perfect. This book made me laugh and cry. This was probably one of the best "love triangles" I've ever read. If you are a fan of romcoms that are a bit heavier and not quite so cheesy, you need to read this book!
Thanks, Netgalley for the ARC of this book!

5 beautifully romantic stars
This is the most beautifully romantic read! An emotional and heartfelt love story that is sweet and functional with just the right amount of angst to bring all the feels. A story of soulmates and meeting the right person at the wrong time, it’s a complete standalone, and I absolutely loved it.
Elliott and Jamie meet on the night before she is admitted to hospital for a stem cell transplant. She’s lived with leukemia for years, and she wants one night of normal before she starts her long journey of treatment and recovery (if she recovers). But what she gets is something extraordinary. She tells Jamie nothing of what she’s going through, other than that she’s from out of town, but regardless of that, they instantly ‘click’. They laugh, they banter, they talk and flirt, and their chemistry is like nothing either of them have ever experienced. They spend the whole night together, both of them knowing they are on the verge of something huge, but also knowing it can’t go anywhere. Elliott checks into hospital the next day, and they expect to never see each other again.
A year later, and Elliott returns to the city where she met Jamie. She’s in recovery, and she’s finally starting to build a life for herself. She excited to meet her bone marrow donor, Carly, who adopts her into her circle of friends, but Elliott’s world is rocked when she meets Carly’s boyfriend, and it’s none other than Jamie.
Oh, my heart, I was feeling this one! From the moment they are together, to their unexpected reunion, I was right there with Elliott and Jamie through the shock of seeing each other, the devastation of the timing, and wondering what could have been. The angst is there, but it’s not overdone, it’s sensible to the story and their situation and works to build wonderful tension. And if you’re worried about a love triangle, don’t be, it’s very clear where their hearts lie, they deal with it maturely and respectfully, and it’s a joy watching them work through their difficult situation to be together. That’s not to say that it’s an easy journey, because they do have challenges to overcome, and my heart was actually pounding with anticipation waiting for it to happen for them, I could not put this book down.
“I’m starting to think I can’t just be your friend. Not now, not yet. I’ve tried and I’m failing miserably.” His gaze locked on hers, eyes blazing. “I still want you, Elliott. I want to be with you, spend time with you, and learn everything about you. I want to touch and hold you, and I want to kiss you more than I’ve ever wanted anything. I’ve tried to stop. I’ve tried so fucking hard to stop, and it’s like deciding to live without air. I don’t . . . I don’t know how to do that. I don’t know if I can.”
OMG, the romance! This is such a gorgeously romantic story, with a true soulmate vibe to it. Jamie and Elliott are amazing together, they just fit, and I loved every moment of their friendship, and watching things change when they become more.
“I’ve never, never felt like I did the night I met you. Not before and not after.”
Jamie completely and absolutely stole my heart. He’s such a good guy with a heart of gold, he tries so hard to do the right thing, and he’s so sweet, patient and caring. But he’s not shy with what he wants, and though this book only hints at sex without actually showing anything, he is still so damn sexy! And Elliott is a wonderful heroine – strong and brave, with a huge heart, I loved watching her figuring herself out and finally starting to live the life she’s dreamed for so long.
What I love the most about these two (apart from their incredible chemistry) is that they are so damn functional! They talk to each other, they’re honest, they don’t hold back when it comes to sharing what they’re thinking and what they’re going through, and it’s so refreshing to read a drama-free romance. The story has some drama of course, not just their journey to come together, but they’re both also dealing with private challenges, but they do it together, they hold on to each other through it all, and together they are just so, so beautiful!
This is my first read by Allison Ashley, and I love her writing. This book is a beautiful read that completely stole my heart, and I’m looking forward to checking out more of her work soon!
5 stars.

Elliot's last night before a stem cell transplant does not go as planned. She meets Jamie at the bar and has the best night of her life but lies about her identity and refuses to give her contact information just in case she doesn't make it past her procedure and recovery. One year later, Elliot moves away from her parents and friends to finally start her life and dreams. She meets her donor, Carly, and her boyfriend, Jamie. Neither of them know quite how to handle their reunion.
This book is ROMANTIC. I am not going to lie... I'm a big fan of Allison from her previous books but I did start this tentatively because I didn't want to not love it. Well, joke's on me because it worked so well! Her characters feel real and vulnerable and flawed and relatable. They're good people trying to do the right thing for everyone around them. The fated love story tugged on my heartstrings and there was plenty to make me smile, sad, or warm my heart. I loved it!
Thank you to the author for the traveling arc and Montlake and Netgalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Allison Ashley just knows what she’s doing. Here she’s set up a really tangled ethical dilemma for her main characters and then let them loose to see if they can work it out. Spoiler alert - it’s a romance so they do, but the dilemma is real, the threads are complicated and there’s a lot for them to navigate.
In sum, Elliot and Jamie meet in a bar and share a connection, much more than either of them have ever experienced. After spending time together, Elliot gives him a fake name and legs it. The following day she has a stem cell transplant and 12 months later finds out that her donor Carly is Jamie’s girlfriend. This isn’t all though, Jamie has family baggage around loyalty and monogamy, and of course for Elliot, her transplant is an optimistic, but not sure-fire, cure for her leukaemia..
Add in all the guilt, Hank the Labrador, a delicious bakery, Jamie’s older sister, small town Nebraska and lots of detail, which all make it a vivid and visceral read. Even though it's a fade to black romance, we are in no doubt about Jamie and Elliot's chemistry or their connection.
Jamie is a bit of an emotional numpty but it’s understandable, given his background. Elliot is quite simply, amazing.
This works incredibly well because author Allison is so adept at letting the characters drive the plot. Her books are often set in the medical world and she knows her stuff. If you like Abby Jimenez and Katherine Center, Alison’s romances are just as deft and heartfelt.
Thank you Allison Ashley, Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

Allison Ashley hit it out of the park with this one! I loved every single moment of this book. It was heartfelt and fun. Cute and serious. It really had everything you could want from a romance novel. Elliot and Jamie were both well developed and flushed out characters. The way their relationship developed was so authentic. Also despite the fade to black, there was a decent amount of yearning and tensions between these two. Also Yuka!!! I really really hope Allison is working on Yuka’s story because what we saw of her was amazing!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy of this second chance romance, deep, and heartwarming book.
The book centers on the timing of falling in love, fate, and bravely living your life, even when you're unsure of the future. Lead character Elliott is a recent cancer survivor after a bone marrow transplant a year before. She finally meets her donar and discovers she is now dating the man named Jamie, who Elliott met and instantly found a romantic connection with before her procedure but didn't leave her information with. Both are put in an impossible situation and need to decide if finally finding the right person at the wrong time is worth hurting someone important to them.
The book was more serious than light, obviously because of the subject matter, but it still had sweet and romantic moments. The dog Hank was adorable. I enjoyed that the book was a love triangle, but all of the characters were kind. It added a lot of depth.
The book represents the complexity of cancer and health issues, especially with younger adults. I loved Elliott's character and how brave she was to start over in a new city after overcoming something so difficult. Jamie was a sweet character and had layers with his struggle on when and how to do the right thing, especially when it's hard.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was thoughtful and endearing. I highly recommend it!.

I really enjoyed this book so so much! I had high hopes and expectations after my friend read/loved it and I wasn’t disappointed.
Synopsis: Elliott is on deck for a stem cell transplant and not knowing how the serious operation might turn out, decides to live it up the night before. What she didn’t expect was to cross paths with what could be her soulmate. Elliott and Jamie go their separate ways only for fate to step in a year later bringing them back together. Only this time when Elliott meets Jamie it’s as the boyfriend of her stem cell donor.
I binged this in nearly one day and really loved it so much. The characters jumped off the page and their chemistry was written so well. Sweet Hank (the dog) was such a lovable addition to the book too!! My onlyyyy wish is for there to have been a little more angst but this book was nearly perfect!

Allison Ashley never ceases to bring me to tears.
Dual POV and a fun meet cute led to a really heartfelt romance chock full of emotion.
Ashley is well versed in nursing and different departments of medicine and I always appreciate her honesty and when writing about these sensitive subjects.
Auto buy author always.

A love story about taking a chance on fate. It's sweetly poignant and touching while I was feeling emotional. The C word always automatically makes me think the worst. It's about living your life to the fullest because you never really know when tomorrow won't come.

Ooey gooey perfection 🫠
Ashley has such a gift in her writing that makes her characters completely and perfectly meant for each other. Elliot and Jamie are kicking your feet under the blankets adorable and I will protect them at all costs ✨️ The banter and laughs are top tier, as always, especially with some pretty awesome side characters, but still keep a pack of tissues near by 😘

If Tomorrow Never Comes by Allison Ashley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
On the night before her stem cell transplant, Elliott Holland meets the perfect man. She instantly falls in love but refuses to stay in contact as she doesn’t know if her transplant will be successful. A year later , she decides to reach out to her Carly, her donor. Carlys boyfriend just so happens to be the mysterious man she met that night. Elliott is torn between the kind woman who saved her life and the LOVE of her life.
I really enjoyed this book. I’m so glad it had a HEA ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book had me hooked from the first to the last page
A wonderfully written book
And I’m so looking forward to the next from this author
Thanks NetGalley

Everyone! Read this book!
What a phenomenal story. Great characters, great friendships, great love story. Great dog! Gotta love Hank. Cliche to say you'll laugh, you'll cry....but it's true. I couldn't read this fast enough. I wish we'd had more of Elliott's (pretty much perfect) parents. The part where Jamie meets them was so fun and so funny. Can't recommend this highly enough, worth more than 5 stars. Ms. Ashley, you've outdone yourself.

This book is so heartfelt. Truly feel all the emotions reading this one. It’s super bingeable. The love triangle was done without any cheating and in such a good way 👏. Elliott & Jamie are great characters. I loved the descriptions of Omaha too - the old town was described perfectly and it was like I was back visiting there! Thank you NetGalley for eARC!

This was the cutest love story I have read in a long time! I instantly knew by page one that it was going to be a five star rating. Allison Ashley does an amazing job writing the characters in a way that will be relatable to so many readers. I could not stop reading as I was wondering when and if the two main characters would ever get together or if there would be something that would pull them apart. It is a shorter read, but the story is not rushed at all. You can feel all the emotions the characters are feeling through the pages and just makes you want to give them all a giant hug. I would highly recommend adding this to your TBR list today!

Allison Ashley has built a very successful career out of romances featuring a character with a chronic medical condition. In this case, Elliott has leukemia and needs a stem cell transplant. The night before the procedure, she goes out for a drink and meets Jamie. Although the two share a perfect evening, she knows she can't start a relationship just as she's recovering from a major medical procedure. So she leaves.
Fast forward a year, a now-healthy Elliott moves to the big city. She and her anonymous stem cell donor find each other and agree to meet up. But guess who the selfless Carly is dating. That's right, it's Jamie, the man Elliott has been thinking about for the past year. And he seems like he's been thinking about her, too.
There's no big villain here, just basically decent people trying to do the right thing and still be happy. It's a serious book but there are sweet moments, too, like Jamie's dog who absolutely adores Elliott.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.
