I was intrigued with this book and love the cover. I did find it a little underwhelming though which I was sad about. There was some repetition and the main character was a little too paranoid that detracted from the thriller vibe. I do think it was an overall good read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for the early read opportunity!
This book catches you from the start and is a packed mystery keeping you guessing.

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for an advanced copy of Gravewater Lake.
Adria has just found out that her husband Peter is not the man she thought he was. She finds evidence of multiple different identities with his face on them. He finds her snooping and gets ready to attack her. A woman wakes up freezing on a lake with no memory of who she is or how she got there. She stumbles to a house where a man named Gregg takes her in and cares for her but can she trust him?
I was hooked at the beginning of this book but it began to drag on and the twist was such a let down.

OMGOODNESS the twist in this book was so good and I never saw it coming! I loved this authors previous book and was so excited to read this one and this one did not disappoint. Can't wait to see more from them!!

Anna wakes up on the shore of a lake half frozen with a lump on her head and no memory of how she got there or even who she is. Desperate, she sees a light in the window of the remote cabin and asks for help from the man, Gregg. From the start, his manner is suspicious, there are strange noises in the house, and she had no idea what's going on. Then there are flashbacks to a week in the past with even more suspicious characters. I honestly spent so much time as confused as Anna but flipping pages to see where the next twist would lead. I liked this locked room in a snowstorm with an amnesia twist story. I did think the ending was a bit rushed and the story could have used more editing, but overall it was good.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you for the ARC! This was an incredible thriller! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time omg.... and the pace was fantastic! I was constantly guessing what was going to happen next and I can't wait for it to be published for all my friends to read it too! The twists were incredible and the pace was fantastic! I can't wait to check out more by these authors.

This is definitely one of those books where you think you have everything figured out, but then the author pulls the rug right out from under you and you realize that you know nothing. You’ve basically been set up, lol. So get ready for a wild ride!
When a young woman awakens on the shores of the titular Gravewater Lake, she has no memory of who she is and how she got there. She walks up to the nearest house and asks to be let in. The owner immediately agrees, as the area is covered in snow and the local roads have not been plowed in some time. Trapped by an ongoing storm, Anna, as she decides to call herself in the home’s owner, Gregg, begin to find a rhythm living side-by-side until they can reach the nearest town, but Anna begins to experience strange phenomenon. She sees people hovering nearby, here’s footsteps in the night, among other things. Needless to say, she’s not certain that she ended up in the lake by accident, and that her new benefactor wasn’t involved.
This book contains two side-by-side plots: one tells the story of Anna as she wakes up without her memory, the other tells the story of a woman who is uncovering the mysterious past of her husband, but we don’t know much more than that.
As I said, this book is filled with suspense, along both storylines, and we’re not sure from the beginning how they tie together. I don’t want to say too much about that because it’s better to go in without expectation. But I do have to say this book really kept me on my toes, and I was totally sucked into both stories as I waited to find out who Anna truly was, and whether Gregg was who he really said he was, or if he was involved in her accident.
The ending has plenty of twists and turns, which truly made for great reading, and the authors definitely had played it out, exactly where they wanted to go with the story precisely. I really enjoyed seeing the ending and then looking back and realizing that all the clues were there. Some very small pieces of it I had figured out, but I did not see the bigger picture coming, and found it very interesting.
I will definitely be looking for more from these authors, as this book really blew me away and kept my attention throughout!

I enjoyed the layers of suspense in the plot and how the story played out in the end. The main character is a woman waking up beside a lake, frozen in a winter storm, with amnesia after a head injury. She stumbles to the nearest house, where she meets a handsome man who takes care of her. Strange things happen, and the woman worries she might not be safe with this man, but the snowstorm has them stranded. I didn't see that ending coming at all. I found the audiobook immersive and well-portrayed. Fans of popcorn thrillers who embrace fiction will enjoy this one.

A woman wakes up alone on the edge of a lake, almost frozen by the snow. She has no memory of how she got there or who she is. She finds herself on the doorstep of a lake house, where she is taken in by Gregg, the owner of the house. He offers her a place to stay while they wait out the snowstorm. Only, she soon starts to feel like he's hiding something from her and she wonders if she is really safe.
This was a difficult one for me to rate. The first half of the book was really good, although slow at times. It follows Anna (a name given to her by Gregg) as she tries to remember what led to her being alone in the snow. There are a few chapters spread throughout the story that makes you think you know who Anna is and what's going on. But then, we get to the last part of the book. Where her memories start coming back and things start getting weird, and honestly, a little farfetched. Don't get me wrong, it was a great read, faster paced than the rest of the book, but it all felt like there were a little too many twists. And everything you thought was true, is not.

@thrillerbookloversthepulse loves this one!
GRAVEWATER LAKE was an absolute whirlwind from start to finish! The first chapter immediately sets the tone for a suspenseful & gripping read, pulling you in with an air of mystery. The story unfolds through a single POV, alternating between past & present chapters, which only adds to the intrigue. I found myself constantly questioning how the 2 timelines would connect, & as the parallels became clearer, the tension continued to build.
Packed with red herrings & unexpected twists, this novel keeps you guessing at every turn. With multiple mysteries woven together, the ominous atmosphere & sense of distorted reality make for an unforgettable reading experience. If you love suspenseful thrillers, this one is a must-read! I also highly recommend THE LAST GIRL LEFT by the same authors—it’s just as gripping!
𝗣𝗹𝗼𝘁: A woman wakes up freezing & alone by a remote lake with no memory of who she is. She stumbles to a nearby house, where a mysterious man named Gregg takes her in. A winter storm traps them together, but strange whispers & footsteps make her uneasy. She begins to suspect that Gregg is hiding something—or that she’s losing her mind. As she pieces together the truth, she realizes danger is closer than she ever imagined.

I really struggled to write this review. I first discovered these authors when I read *The Last Girl Left* last year, so I was excited to receive an ARC of this one. The story started off strong, immediately drawing me in with the prologue. However, as it progressed, the details began to drag, feeling overly exaggerated and unrealistic. By the time the big twist was revealed, it just didn’t work for me. I found myself rolling my eyes more often than not. Unfortunately, this one left me disappointed.
I hate that I didn’t love this one, but I’d still recommend it to others, as it may be more to your taste. And despite my feelings on this book, I’ll definitely give another one of their books a try.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Thomas&Mercer for the book #GravewaterLake by #AMStrong and #SonyaSargent. This book should get all the stars. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. Full of secrets, lies and paranoia wrapped up nice and neat till the crazy plot twist. A woman wakes up near a lake in a remote place and cannot remember anything of her life. She makes it to the nearest house where a man named Gregg lives and he takes her in. As she struggles to get her memory back, she hears voices but Gregg insists there is nobody else there. With the internet down and the bridge out, she feels trapped and wonders if she is in danger. What she finds is shocking and she knows she may not make it out alive.

Well written but too dark for my current mood.
I'm sure I'd love in the right moment
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Gravewater Lake is a fast-paced and well-written book with enough characters that could lead to wrong assumptions. In fact, I have mixed feelings about the whole story but as I wanted to know the end I kept on reading and it turned out to be a totally different truth than what I had imagined in my head. I did not relate to any of the characters, they seemed too unreal and also behaving according to a well used script for good and bad guys, sometimes the main one seemed too naive to be true. If I could I would give this book 3,5 stars.
I thank the authors, their publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.

Right from the start, Gravewater Lake had me under its thrall. With a well-plotted amnesia-centered premise that contained not one but two timelines that both kept me riveted to the pages, I thought I knew exactly what was going to happen. Little did I know that the expertly crafted twists would shock me but good. So much so, in fact, that I guarantee that you’ll be just as surprised by the multiple jaw-dropping turns of events. After all, the reveals were so deftly woven into the plot that they not only felt like utter perfection, but they had me rethinking everything I had already read up to that point in the story.
The characters and the setting—which felt like yet another crafty persona—were easily the best piece of the puzzle, however. From a handful of thoroughly suspicious individuals to a woman with no memories at all, I felt myself being pulled into their lives as if I was a fly on the wall. The setting, though, was what won me over hook, line, and sinker. With an unsettling atmosphere, vivid descriptions, and an eerie lake at the center of the action, it grabbed me but good from the very first word. All I can say is that you’re going to want the lights on before you dive into a plot that gave me all of the chills and thrills that I could want in a story.
The only thing that didn’t hit quite right was the conclusion. Decidedly over-the-top as well as not really fitting in with the rest of the novel, it not only came out of left field—it left my expectations demolished into little, itty, bitty pieces. While part of that was definitely right up my alley, the big, giant twist that introduced the new direction to the plot somehow left me a little let down. Don’t get me wrong, once I suspended all disbelief and returned to the pages, I ate up every word with a very large grin—even if it was ultimately pretty far-fetched.
All said and done, I now completely understand why my friends and colleagues with Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse have been raving about this one for ages. A tale of psychological suspense that came complete with flashbacks, cliffhanger chapters, and plenty of lies to uncover, this locked room mystery of sorts kept me guessing for sure. So if you love a creepy, old mansion, unique twists, and a multilayered story, this is most definitely the book for you. After all, it was well-written, immersive, and clever. My one piece of advice? Don’t trust a soul in this unputdownable novel. Rating of 4 stars.
Thank you to A.M. Strong, Sonya Sargent, Thomas & Mercer, Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse, and NetGalley for my complimentary physical and digital copies. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley & Thomas & Mercer for an eARC ♥️
The story starts with a woman who wakes up on a lake shore with zero memory of who she is or how she got there. Like, can you even imagine?! No phone, no ID, no nothing. Just a bunch of questions and a whole lot of fear.
She stumbles upon this house, and the guy who lives there, Gregg, takes her in. He's all charming and helpful, but I was skeptical from the start. I mean, who is this guy, and why is he being so nice to a complete stranger? But hey, the protagonist is desperate, so she goes along with it.
As the story unfolds, things get weirder and weirder. There are creepy noises, strange whispers, and Gregg seems to be hiding something. I was literally questioning everything and everyone, including the protagonist! Is she really who she thinks she is? Is Gregg telling the truth? And what's up with the house? It's like it's got its own secrets and lies.
The authors did an amazing job of keeping me on my toes. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, they'd throw in a twist that would flip everything on its head. I loved it! It was like a puzzle, and I got to piece together the clues alongside the protagonist.😶🌫️

Ok that last 20% of the book was beyond predictable! Man, I was on the edge of my seat finishing up the book.
I ended up loving this thriller. You expect one thing and it ends up another. I'm not going to give any spoilers what so ever. Please go into this one blind.
I will say, it was a tad slow at the beginning. I was questioning myself and my theories every other chapter.
Definitely recommend this thriller!

I read the book and listened to the audiobook and wow, what a ride! I finished it in a day because I was so sucked into it so quickly! Another hit by these authors! Read this if you love an isolated setting during a snowstorm and not knowing who to trust. I was really shocked when I found out what was happening.

Anna and Adria tell this story of a woman - Anna- who wakes up beside a cold lake and is taken in by Gregg. She's lost her memory. Who exactly is Gregg? Good guy or bad guy? This is a twisty one but to be honest, it wasn't my favorite of the genre, perhaps because Anna felt unrealistic. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Over to others.

When the twist ending has you like what?????
I was actually enjoying this book - the premise seemed really promising and it didn't
take me long to get invested in the story as the main character wakes up with memory loss
and tries to piece together how she's ended up at a lake house with no recollection of who she is and what she's doing here.
Gregg - a stranger who takes her in is not what he seems and as we get flashbacks into the past of a character called Adria, the pieces start to come together, although as it turns out, those pieces are completely irrelevant.
That twist ending really annoyed me to be honest. I get the whole red herring thing but this was so farfetched that it doesn't make sense and felt like a last minute re-write. It was a copout and left a sour taste in my mouth after investing the time to read this and push through during some lulls in the story.
Thank you Thomas & Mercer and Netgalley for the eARC copy of this book!
