#GravewaterLake is not at all what I thought that it was.

Partially through the book I thought that I had it all figured out and i found myself wondering aloud to the main character why they hadn't figured out who Gregg was. It was so clear to me that Anna knew who Gregg was although the amnesia probably didn't help things.

The book goes back and forth between when Adria and Peter are at their lake house on Gravewater Lake having a vacation together. Things have been strained between them since Adria started wondering if her husband is who he says he is and when two thugs show up at her house asking for her husand it sends off alarms in her mind and she goes to her friend Harvey that works for her famillies foundation to see if he can dig up some information for her. After getting a text on her burner cell to meet Harvey and to be careful her husband is not who she thinks he is Harvey dies in a mugging by two people who sound very similar to the thugs that came looking for her husband. From here everything in her wonderful life seems to spiral out of control.

A woman wake up on the shore of Gravewater Lake with a single slipper and torn clothing not knowing who she is or how she got there. Almost frozen from the snow and water she makes her way to a large home and is taken in by a man named Gregg. Shes told that the power is down, there is no cell reception, and the roads aren't plowed because the bridge is down as well. So she finds herself stuck with this man not knowing who she is, who hurt her and who he is. She feels a strange draw to him though. He has clothes in his closet he says belong to his dead wife that he couldn't bare to let go of but the clothes fit her as though they were tailored for her. No pictures adorn his walls for someone who claims that the lake house was his wifes favorite place and that he goes there to be closer to her if anything the home feels sterile.

Something is off about this place, she hears strange noises and feels as though she is constantly being watched. Gregg seems determined to keep her at the house and disonnected from anyone else but it feels as though he knows more than what he is saying. Anna has no idea who she is but is hopeing that something will stir her memory however she begins to worry that maybe she isn't as safe as she thought she was, maybe Greggs wife isn't dead after all.

#GravewaterLake by #A.MStrong and #SonyaSargent is an amazing book that completely caught me off guard. I'm pretty good at knowing half through a book what is coming next but this time I was completely wrong and I loved that I was wrong. Its a fantastic psychological thriller that I hope everyone gives a change.

I want to thank #Netgalley for the chance to read an eArc of #GravewaterLake in return for a fair and honest review.

This is such a well thought out and tightly written thriller that anyone who enjoys their books twisty will enjoy.

GRAVEWATER LAKE is a story that keeps providing twists and surprises that will keep the reader constantly guessing what's next. AM Strong and Sonya Sargent, twisting the story of Anna and Adria together to slowly reveal the ending-hmm, it's fun.

The writing is fun- it's playful, easy to read, and really highlights the characters of the story.

Creating the amnesia driven plot with not one but two timelines was freaking chaotic yet cool. The plot was well-written with twists so twisting that every time I thought solving it, my mind was confused again. The vivid descriptions of the protagonist who is totally in a new world because of her memory loss is really good and the unsettling themes will give chills and thrills all at once.
Basically, the main character is confused and I was confused as well.
If you are a fan of thriller or Freida Macfadden, you will love this one

I recently had the pleasure of reading this, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations in so many ways. From the very first page, I was hooked by the engaging style and the intriguing characters. The author does an excellent job of building a world that feels both immersive and believable, making it easy to get lost in the story. The plot was full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story would surprise me with something unexpected. I highly recommend this and all their work.

After reading The Last Girl Left, I knew this one would be a must read for me! I was even more excited to read it when I saw that it took place in a secluded atmospheric setting during a snow storm. A digital copy of this book was given to me. The opinions are my own and freely given.

A woman wakes up on the shore of a lake, in a blizzard with no memory. She doesn't know her name, or where she is but sees a home and decides to ask for help. Gregg answers the door and doesn't know her, but because of the storm, they can't leave. She stays with Gregg and even though she enjoys being with him, she wonders if she can trust him.

Leading up to this mysterious woman waking up, Adria discovers her husband is stealing money from the business and some shady characters show up. This story is told from different perspectives, Adria's, which was a days before the woman woke up. And then when she woke up.

I spent the whole book, also wondering if Gregg was Adria's husband, if the woman was Adria and if he can really be trusted. I was shocked at the truth, never saw it coming and pleasantly surprised. I believe my mouth actually hung open for a minute of two.

This book had suspense, action. a little romance and a lot of mystery. Highly recommend it!

This story did not work for me. It felt like the same story I've read many times over. The characters and plot were not gripping.

Dive into the murky depths of Gravewater Lake, where suspense and deception reigns supreme! The main character's amnesia creates a captivating sense of unease, making everyone a potential suspect. I was constantly second-guessing myself, never guessing the shocking twists and reveals. The dual timeline and intricate plot weave a web of mystery that's utterly addictive. If you love secluded thrillers with unreliable narrators and unexpected turns, this book is perfect. It's a binge-worthy thriller that's absolutely worth the read!

Oh this hooked me instantly. It is so weird! Our girl wakes up drenched with no memory of who she is. She stumbles to large lake house with lights on and then things get even weirder. Who is Gregg? Why do all the women's clothes fit her? Why is "Eddie" coming around? She needs a hospital but for some reason that is impossible.
I love it!

🪦 F R E A K Y F R I D A Y book tour review 🪦 featuring “Gravewater Lake” by A.M. Strong and Sonya Sargent!

MY RATING: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤/5

A woman wakes up on the shore of Gravewater Lake in the middle of a winter storm. She is completely disorientated, terrified and on the brink of hypothermia. She cannot remember her name or what the hell happened to her 🤔!

She notices a light on inside a house in the distance and knocks on the door looking for help and refuge from the snow storm. A handsome man named Gregg invites her inside and cares for her. Two complete strangers living together as they are stuck inside, what could go wrong? The woman is forced to trust this man as she tries her best to remember ANYTHING about herself.

But then she starts to hear conversations downstairs and footsteps throughout the house late at night and she is certain that they are NOT ALONE in the house! Is her mind spiralling and playing tricks on her or is Gregg keeping secrets from her?

🫣 This is the first book in a LONG time that actually gave me chills up my spine! I felt totally creeped out, unsettled and suspicious of everything! The characters are all sketchy and unreliable, especially due to the woman’s amnesia. Are Gregg’s intentions good or is he manipulating the memory loss situation??

Thank you kindly to @strongsargentauthors @sonyasargentstrong @amazonpublishing @thrillerbookloversthepulse for my #gifted advanced copy in exchange for my honest review and a spot on this incredible book tour. This book is OUT NOW and is one you don’t want to miss out on!

A woman wakes by the shore of a freezing cold lake, wet and shivering, with no memory of who she is and how she got there. She makes her way to the lights of a nearby house where she is kindly taken in by a man who opens the door to her. When a winter storm cuts them off from the outside world, she is forced to stay with him until the weather improves. However, as the days pass, she begins to feel that not everything is as it seems, including her rescuer. As she begins to experience flashes of memory, she becomes increasingly fearful about the sinister presence she feels around her and is convinced she's in danger. But who from?

Told in 2 timelines, this well paced psychological thriller was atmospheric and tense. The storyline kept me guessing and the twist towards the end was unexpected. The short chapters added to the tension and kept me turning the pages, finishing this book in a couple of days. A recommended read for fans of a good psychological thriller.

Thank you to NetGalley for my opportunity to read and review this book. ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐

I wanted to like this one a lot more than I did, but it took me forever to get into it. The main character was insufferably naive and read like a YA character, which was a struggle to get through.

This one started a little slow for me but I was hooked after 30%. There were moments where I thought this is so dumb or so unbelievable but then the twists come and it all makes sense!! I really liked this one!!

I enjoyed this story and for the most part it kept me hooked. It got a little boring in the middle but I was still.invested in finding out what happened. Inside not predict the twist at the ending. It was definitely not the direction I thought the story was going in but overall I enjoyed it and would recommend!

📚 ARC BOOK TOUR BOOK REVIEW 📚

Gravewater Lake
By A.M. Strong & Sonya Sargent
Publication Date: March 1, 2025
Publisher: Thomas and Mercer

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
(Rounded Up To 5⭐)

Thank you so much to Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse, Thomas and Mercer, A.M.Strong, and Sonya Sargent for this #gifted physical book and the absolutely AH-MAZ-ING swag box in exchange for my honest review! (Swipe ➡️ to see what was inside!) * And thanks to NetGalley for the e-arc too!*

📚MY REVIEW:

Strong & Sargent's debut thriller, The Last Girl Left, was one of my top reads of 2024, so you know it was a resounding YES when I was asked to participate in the book tour for their sophomore thriller, Gravewater Lake!

And this book did not disappoint!! With its short chapters and its dual POVs, this fast-paced psychological thriller was overflowing with mounting tension that incrementally ratcheted up with every chilling page I turned. It captivated me from the very start, and before I knew it, I was 100 pages in.

The story is told from the perspectives of our two female MCs, Adria and Anna, who are both caught in the mire of heart-pounding suspense and suspicion within their lives. Adria has discovered that perhaps her husband, Peter, isn't the man she thought he was when they got married two years ago. His secrets and lies just continue to grow, as Adria begins to unravel the mysteries surrounding who he is and what he's done. Anna wakes up on the shore of a frigid lake in the middle of a snowstorm with a huge bump on her head and absolutely no memory of who she is or how she ended up in the water. Fighting hypothermia, she trudges through snow until she finds Gregg's cabin, who takes her in. As days pass and the snowstorm keeps Anna stuck with Gregg in his cabin, she feels as if she's being watched and she's sure she's hearing someone else in the cabin at night. Gregg insists they're alone, but why does he keep disappearing? And what secrets is HE hiding?

This book had so much going on in both storylines, and I loved the way the POVs continually shifted to keep me guessing as I tried to find the connections between Adria and Anna. I definitely did not see the twists coming in this one, and while I had to suspend my disbelief a handful of times with some of the conclusions, I didn't even care. There's nothing better than a gaslighting antagonist -- except two of them. And with Anna's memory loss, her potentially unhinged character had me ready for anything. Once again, Strong and Sargent delivered a whopper of an unexpected twist and solidified their place as an auto-buy author pairing for me. This one is available NOW!!

Gravewater Lake is my second book by this duo. They write bingeable addictive thrillers. I absolutely loved the short chapters, they were so propulsive.

I also love the amnesia trope in thrillers, they naturally make you question everything, but there is no way I could have anticipated the twist in this one. It was so shocking, yet completely believable. The perfect kind of twist.
