I don’t even know where to begin. Calling it “full of twists & turns” just doesn’t cover it. All the little details, the little things you KNOW are important are standing out like sore thumbs - you’re SCREAMING at Adria to get her shit together. The red flags will leave you blind. Your heart is pounding along with hers. It’s so unbelievable that it can’t be anything else!
Adria’s husband Peter has some dark secrets. After an accounting audit at Adria’s family charitable foundation revealed embezzlement activities linked to Peter, Adria becomes suspicious. She loops in head of security for the foundation and the other family businesses, Harvey. After doing some digging, Harvey texts Adria with an ominous message about her husband. Wondering what else he’s lied about, she continues digging. When Peter realizes she’s uncovering the truth, he suggests a trip to the lake house - in the middle of winter. And he won’t take no for an answer.
Just when you think you know EXACTLY what is going here, you’ll find yourself spinning in circles wondering where that just came from.
This one you absolutely will not see the ending coming at you - this one sneaks up on you

This is my second book by this author and, it might just be me. But the premise and plot are amazing: yet I feel disconnected from the characters and the story. I'd still recommend, it just wasn't the most memorable to me.

This author duo is now two for two for me. This was another fast paced plot AND character driven book and I loved it! It starts out strong and doesn’t let up. I was pretty lost in the best way and was thrown for a few loops. This had all the elements of a good thriller. Great pace, locked room, character with memory loss, and so much more. This book was so fun!

Gravewater Lake is an uneven, surface-level read. The main character and her thoughts and actions in regards to her amnesia are just not believable.

Really good quick read. Enjoyed the storyline and the setting. Kept me guessing what was happening til the end. Thank you NetGalley for this arc

I really enjoyed this one. A fast paced thriller full of twist and turns. A real mess with your head thriller.
If you want a good book that will have you turning pages this is definitely a story for you.
Grab your favourite drink and your favourite spot and enjoy

This wasn't a new trope; it was the classic found woman lost her memory and is staying with someone claiming to be good. Despite that it wad a goid spin on it. I loved the characters and their dynamics. The pace was fast and full of suspense. The mystery was winding and twisty, it kept me guessing as to what these characters would do next.

This book was entertaining, but also cheesy. The main character was stupid for ignoring so many red flags and letting Gregg gaslight her over and over. Too random to have the two crimes happen at the same place. Just overall ok. Wouldn’t recommend.

Wow!
Finally a true psychological thriller! You can’t trust ANYONE in this book. The idea that someone can lose their memories and have no idea who they are or where they are is terrifying. All of the people surrounding them are suspects and everyone seems to be keeping secrets.
The location of a lake in the dead of winter during a snow storm with no escape was great! I love a good locked in thriller.
I thought I had it figured out, but I most certainly didn’t! What a twist. I also loved the ending and was very optimistic about “Anna’s” happy ever after.
Highly recommend this book, as it was one of the best I’ve read all year.

Very predictable I think. Most thrillers usually are, so this does not stand out to me.
Dragged on a bit in the middle.
I suppose I would recommend for someone just wanting to read a quick thriller/meet their reading goal.

I am a sucker for any kind of lost memory trope, and this one didn't disappoint! From the first chapter this one drew me in, and the Freida McFadden-like pacing made this one a fun, easy, and quick read.
I did like the twists, but some parts were overly confusing - I found myself needing to flip back and forth between places to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I think that was part of the point since Anna was confused, but it made some parts difficult to follow. Either way, I loved the twist at the end and would love to read more from this duo! Thanks so much for the ARC!

This was a great thriller book! I really loved how quick this book took off and it kept me focused the entire time. It’s full of twists and turns, a lot that I didn’t see coming. If you’re a fan of Freida McFadden, you would love this book! I am interested in reading more from this author.

I got drawn in by this book from the very first page to the very last. I usually read horror books, but I class this as a palette cleanser for me after an extreme horror read. This psychological thriller written by these author's is just as addictive.
This story starts with a lady that washes up on the shore of a lake with amnesia nearly frozen to death in a snow blizzard. Where is she, who is she, what happened to her. She finds help at a house and Gregg helps her, but they are isolated and trapped due to the storm. But all is not what it seems. They call her Anna, but her paranoia seems to be getting the better of her and with Gregg being too good to be true. I really thought I had it sussed, then the author threw a spanner in the works again and again. I then spiralled off into another direction, all over again arghhh arghhh 😳😬.
This book kept me guessing to the very end, addictive reading as always, never disappoints me. I highly recommend this read. I loved it!!!

4.5 stars
Okay, wow!!! Never in my life have I been so blindsided by a plot twist?! I am still totally reeling from this one, but I loved it!! I have to admit, I spent the entire book trying to figure it out, I knew I was missing something, but I didn't put the pieces together at all, and isn't that EXACTLY what all readers want out of a good thriller?
The two POVs were so much fun to read and try to piece together, and whatever you think the resolution of this book is going to be, I promise, you have not seen anything yet!!
I was so confused and on edge for the entire duration of this read. Thank you so much to NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader for this one, and I can't wait for release and to start recommending this to my following!! Wow!!!

Thank you to NetGalley & Thomas & Mercer for this ARC! *Gravewater Lake* by A.M. Strong and Sonya Sargent is an eerie and atmospheric thriller that pulls readers into a chilling mystery set against the backdrop of a mysterious lake. The story follows protagonist Sarah, who returns to her childhood home only to uncover dark secrets about her past and the haunting truths surrounding the lake's sinister reputation. The authors excel at building tension and suspense, immersing readers in a tale filled with ghostly happenings, unexpected twists, and deep emotional stakes. The setting is richly described, adding to the overall sense of unease and intrigue throughout the novel. Fans of psychological thrillers and supernatural elements will find *Gravewater Lake* a gripping and unsettling read.

This was absolutely amazing! I was totally enthralled with this story from beginning to end, I could barely put it down, and when I finally read the last page, the house was dark, I was hungry, thirsty, needed to pee and my neck was stiff. But damn, it was worth it!

it isn’t often that i force myself to finish a book and unfortunately this was one of them. i found the idea of the book to be intriguing, a girl wakes up freezing from a snowstorm unaware of who she is or her surroundings and stumbles up to the first house she sees and it goes from there. unfortunately though a lot of the book fell flat to me. while i understand anna had some trauma and memory loss, it seemed she threw all common sense and caution out the window despite being suspicious so often and i found that incredibly frustrating to read over and over again. the ending sort of saved the book but even then it was so rushed it felt like whiplash seeing everything happening. i think i perhaps am just not the targeted market for this as this is a very easy breezy uncomplicated story and i tend to steer away from those.

This psychological thriller hooks you from the first page, following "A," a protagonist with amnesia who wakes up by a lake in winter and seeks refuge with a man named Gregg. As unsettling events unfold in a remote, snowed-in house, both the protagonist and the reader begin to question Gregg's trustworthiness. Despite the familiar amnesia trope, the book delivers gripping suspense, with a tense atmosphere and a satisfying, if slightly implausible, twist. Readers praised the story’s pacing, emotional depth, and polished writing. It’s highly recommended for fans of suspenseful, twist-filled thrillers. Thank you NetGalley and the ARC team!

4.25 stars. This was a fantastic read! The whole book, I kept thinking, "jeez, this seems like it's going to end very predictably..." And then BOOM! The story leaves off on a twist I would never have guessed. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a thrilling story that kept me captivated the whole way through. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars is some parts were a little repetitive and dragged on, like the MC going over the same questions in her head over and over throughout the book. Even still, I absolutely loved this book and was always excited to pick it back up again.

This was so boring. I really disliked being in the main characters mind. She was constantly questioning herself, being gaslit, & listening to manipulative characters. It was not well written. I found myself skipping all the parts that were not actual dialogue or progressing the story. That was a lot of skipping. 1.5 stars. Just not for me. I did finish it though.; so there's that. The ending was so anticlimactic. I wanted to try to guess what was going to happen but the "big reveal" was nothing guessable. It didn't make sense and felt like it came out of nowhere. Ugh.
