Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this ARC! A mix of thriller and paranormal - i was unable to put it down!

This one has a LOT packed into a single book and I'm so glad I had to opportunity to pick it up! As a new mom myself, I felt immediately connected to Bree and couldn't even imagine balancing that with the stress of having a husband with a dangerous job! A lot of the crime/stalking aspects made this a quick and easy page-turner, but some of the paranormal aspects were a little unexpected and not exactly for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this and would recommend to any thriller lover. Thanks so much for the ARC!

Oh my gosh. This was an insane read. It's got me in, aww. First off, the real issues with PPD, PTSD and what they both come with and how they can be. Not only that, the relationship, the stalking, the psychopaths coworker/love interest. There is just so much in this book, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time you're reading it. This is such a great physiological thriller, and if you enjoy everything mentioned, you need to read this book ASAP.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rising Action Publishing Co. for the arc in exchange for an honest review. This book was unputdownable from start to finish, the mix of thriller, paranormal, police procedural all of it was so good. I will say at some parts it felt a bit repetitive but overall very good!

Wow is all I can say! When I read this, I devoured it in TWO DAYS!!! This thing was so incredibly hard to put down! Everyone at @thrillerbookloversthepulse is going mad over this one!!

Bree and Jake are married couple living the life with a toddler. However, life begins to become a struggle with Jake as a police officer in a rough city.

One day his job follows him home and their lives are now in danger. They then find an opportunity in a better home away from the city. Will the move be just what they needed? Or is something more sinister about to take over?

This story was a thriller with some horror elements sprinkled in. The new house had creepy scenes that kept me on the edge. I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!

Thank you so much Angela Douglas and Rising Action Publishing for my gifted copy! Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

The synopsis of this book had me super intrigued and it did not disappoint! I could not put it down. I loved the complexity with one of the main characters and even the addition of a smidge of supernatural. I think this book had a little something for everyone.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me on my toes trying to figure out what was going on with the house itself & the family.

I think it's a little slow at times but overall I enjoyed it.

Put this one on your radar for 2025! Pub date 01.28.25

This book had me in quite a chokehold, which for someone who reads mainly thrillers, I don’t always get that feeling. But wow this was good!

Jake is a police officer and we get dual pov between him & his wife Bree. They’re still newly wedded with a small child, and due to his job, they are forced to move because they’re being harassed by people he has arrested.

So they move an hour out and of course they find a huge old house that has tons of creepy scary things happening. I’m telling you I got absolutely spooked the first night I read this in bed and had to turn on a funny tv show to feel better 🤣

The writing style - chef’s kiss!
the DEPTH of the characters - wow
the suspense!!

I 100% recommend this book - you’ll love it!

Every Fall came in with a (graphic and shocking) bang and didn't let up! It was unputdownable and gave me so many emotions!

Douglas did a great job setting the plot and deepening the emotions. Bree and Jake felt like real people to me and I felt so connected to them. I related to Bree on a mom-to-mom level and it broke my heart reading her struggles and isolation. Her fear of Jake's job and the horrors he brought home with him were hard to read about and I was angry on her behalf for being kept in the dark by her husband.

I kept having mixed reactions to Jake and wanted so badly to root for him but he kept disappointing me over and over! I don't know many police officers but his unit and neighborhood seemed particularly frightening and challenging and I couldn't imagine what they were both going through.

The pacing of this novel is really great and kept me flipping me pages. It's a fairly quick read though some parts were a little graphic and tough to read.

All in all, this was a great book and I'm excited to read more by Douglas.

Thank you to THE PULSE for putting this one on my radar!

Thanks NetGalley for the free ARC! I found this novel mediocre. It had a great start with plenty of action, but then became kind of mundane until it picked up towards the end, There were a some things I didn’t like about the storyline, for one… how can something be a secret if everybody knows about? I would say this novel was worth the read but with some minor changes it could’ve been better. This is my honest opinion and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Every Fall

Publisher: Rising Action
A young couple who is navigating life in a crime-ridden town. East Bernheim is a town Jake works in law enforcement. He has to live within a certain distance to the community he serves. Bree had this place when they met, but now they have a child the need to be in a safer community.
One day crime comes knocking and they HAVE to move to keep their family safe.
A new neighborhood looks promising, but Jack has had a traumatic event and his mood spirals, and Bree is feeling the pressures of being a new mom and having one car. His job is now an hour away.
This novel is very detailed and had my emotions all over the place. I felt for Bree and Jake as life because toxic and this thriller author was new to me. I will be looking for more of her work.
Thank Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse and Rising Action for this gifted e-ARC.

How many people have bought a home in a not great area, hoping the neighborhood will improve? Or that they will earn enough to be able to afford a better neighborhood. In Bree’s case, her place is worth less than she paid for it and her husband, Jake is tied to the area by his job. But when something happens that shakes Bree to the core, they make the decision to rent a house in a slightly better neighborhood. Jake is suffering from the stress of his job and trying to take care of his family. And the new house, well it doesn’t seem like it’s going to give this family a happily ever after ending. Have they moved into a haunted house or is there something very wrong with Bree.
There is a lot going on in this story. Real trauma and many things that made me wonder if this family could survive everything that life threw at them. No spoilers, but it was an eye-opening read about a very stressful job.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Rising Action Publishing for the digital review copy!

Douglas’s 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒍𝒍 is a chilling thriller that delves deep into the haunting aftermath of postpartum depression and PTSD, among other psychological struggles.

The lyrical prose and well-developed characters made the dual first-person narratives especially engaging. Even though the paranormal elements felt somewhat out of place, I found myself so drawn in that I couldn't stop reading—and ended up bingeing it straight through to the end.

If things seem too good to be true…then they probably are. How do we truly know if our minds are playing tricks or if we are losing our minds?

This is my first read by Angela Douglas and it will not be my last! With the police procedural style story, sprinkled with mental health struggles and a dash of spooky this is an awesome thriller!

This was a haunting (pun intended) thriller that hit on a couple heavy themes revolving around mental health, death, and spousal abuse. The book jumped right into the characters and the author wrote them well, giving them tons of development throughout the book without losing sight of the plot like others do.

Jake is a cop in an unsafe area. When the job puts his family in danger, he decides to move with his wife Bree and son to a safer neighborhood. However, that doesn't seem to solve the problems when Bree, pregnant again, starts hearing strange noises in the new house.
This novel deals with the depression and traumas of the characters. In Bree's case, as a mother of two, with no time for more than caring for them. With Jake at his job, the miseries he has to see and the risk he is exposed to every day. Add to that the mystery of the house that seems to have its own ghost. All this together causes serious problems in their personal lives causing mistrust, betrayals and misunderstandings.
With very well depicted characters and a plot that goes from police procedure and postpartum depression to haunted houses, this multifaceted thriller will not leave you indifferent.

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒈𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒈𝒐 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆?

EVERY FALL was a stunning, haunting portrayal of the traumatic effects of being a first responder and the anxiety of being a young mother. When these world collide, the after-effects were sobering.

Bree married Jake not long after meeting him and was expecting their first child almost right away. She's suffering a bit from postpartum changes, and her husband Jake, a cop in one of the worst areas of town, isn't much help because of his long shifts. However, when a crime hits far too close to home, the couple moves to a rental property in a safer neighborhood. Both feel as if they made a good decision--until Bree starts to hear rumors about their house. Those, she can brush off, but when she starts seeing the woman in her house who is very interested in both her and her once-again pregnant belly, she begins to question her sanity.

Meanwhile, Jakes's mental health begins to spiral, and the reader begins to wonder which is worse--the entity inside the home or the personal darkness within both Bree and Jake that threaten not only their relationship but the safety of their two children as well.

I was engrossed in the story right away and really enjoyed how the author showed the mental toll of being a new mother who feels isolated and alone, burdened with the duty of keeping another human being alive. She also brought light to the thousands of daily trauma a first responder like Jake much absorb to keep them compartmentalized and away from his family.

Thank you so much to the author and Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse for this thrilling early read. At the time this review was written, EVERY FALL is expected to publish January 28, 2025.
