Thanks to netgalley for the ARC! I’m rating this with my YA readers in mind. I enjoyed the premise and think my students would as well. Caz and Daisy becoming internet and YouTube sensations is pretty much the young person’s American dream these days, I swear. Daisy is stubborn, strong, and likable and is good to family and friends but also a reluctant newbie to the streaming world. Meanwhile, Caz is charming, knows how to get views, handy in terms of building things, but might be a little too worried about likes than his family and friends. They’re childhood friends who had a falling out but are making their way back together. While they do an internet challenge, you get back story to see how they are where they are. I was really into it but did kind of slow down my enthusiasm when things got a little too cheesy at times when they were sharing feelings and thoughts about each other. It wasn’t a deal-breaker thing as I went and immediately bought season 2 to get the rest of the story when it leaves you hanging. I could totally see how this worked well as a timed release on Amazon episode by episode, and I can even picture it as a show if they ever go that route. It was a timely/trendy romance topic with a churchgoing family that doesn’t push it in your face or over the top but keeps it clean, which I appreciated. This is one I feel like I can recommend to my middle grade readers with no worries.
Wish Upon A Streaming Star follows the story Daisy, a small town girl, and her reconnecting with her childhood friend/neighbor, Caz, who just happens to be a popular youtuber. They find themselves invited to do challenges together for 48 hours with a $500,000 cash reward. Daisy can really use the money, Caz can really use the views. Will they be able to complete the challenge?
I would have loved this book as a teenager, I would have eaten it up in a day and demanded for more. As an adult, I still found myself incapable of putting the book down, wanting to know what happened to bring these friends apart and routing for them in all the challenges. I could easily picture the live streams as the author really captured how youtubers seem to talk and act in their videos. It was an enjoyable read, and I found myself wanting to know what happened next because I was left on a cliffhanger!
If you enjoy watching youtubers doing challenges with some love and drama in the mix, then you will enjoy this book. Thank you, Krissi Dallas and NetGalley, for providing me with this ARC to read.
This made me feel like I was a 14 y/o kid obsessed with Wattpad stories again (in all the best of ways). Caz and Daisy are two ex-friends on a mission to unlock a box which contains HALF A MILLION DOLLARS, and all they have to do for it is to recreate cute Hollywood movie scenes. Will this lead them back to being friends, or even more?
I devour YA RomComs like a person starving, and this was no different. It was cute, full of fluff, and a entertaining read overall. My one problem is that I am not good with cliffhangers, and this ends at that. Can't wait for Volume 2 to release asap.
Thanks to NetGalley, Thunderfly Productions, and the author for the ARC

Aww this was such a fun, super quick, easy read! Ex best friends have to team up together to complete video challenges in order to win $500,000. Was it super cheesy? Yes. Did I eat it up? Absolutely! (OMG the main character doesn't cuss so uses cheese related phrases in place of it. ex: "For the love of cheese". "Holy Cheese Fries" "What the four cheese pizza!".) That was a bit much for me, but besides that, it was a cute book. Excited to read Season 1 Volume 2 to see how the second day of video challenges go.
Thank you Net Galley and Thunderfly Productions for the opportunity to read this book in advance in exchange for my honest review
This teen/young adult romance is fun, quirky, heartbreaking, heartwarming and a multitude of other emotions! You'll laugh and you'll tear up a bit, but you will have fun reading every word. Great characters with unique and quirky personalities that you can't help but to fall in love with! Set in a small town, but at least one of the teens has huge aspirations to be internet famous. However, will that fame cost the love that has been blooming for decades or will it cut down the last chance of that love ever flourishing! You'll have to read to find out! Be warned though, that this book is just the first collection or "season" of a serialized story on Vella so it will leave off on a cliffhanger in a rather abrupt manner. I'm cool with a cliffhanger, but if you aren't then you need to make sure that you have book 2 or season 2, however you want to categorize it, cued up and ready to go!
This book was absolutely fantastic! It offered a blend of friendship, humor, social media, romance, and jealousy. The story perfectly captures the journey of a YouTuber navigating their career while pushing forward. It was a unique perspective and had me hooked. I can’t wait to dive into volume 2 to see what unfolds next for them.
