ARC From Netgalley.
Running home to Nottingham after the events of the last Volume (as well as the excellent Tales of Nottingham) Everard Blackthrone must rise again in power in his home. Everything seems against him: Lady Marion rules over many of the Merry Men all while puppeting Little John as he rules over Nottingham; King Richard has joined with Robin Hood and is leading forces to take back the city before turning south to deal with the treacherous “King” John; and the Sheriff’s daughter-in-law Rose has turned against him after the loss of Alan.

Who will he gain as allies? What will happen when the King arrives? AND just how close is this story going to pan out to the tale we all know and love?
Absolutely pick this up. I’m blown away at how perfect this wraps everything up.

Everard Blackthorne, former Sheriff of Nottingham, has returned to the city to find Lady Marian and Little John in charge while King Richard and Hood lead an army to take and punish the city. The question is who will stand up to whom and for whom, The conspiracies and betrayals come swiftly while fighting is brutal. In the end, one man dies for the sake of the city, but that salvation does not last. An interesting conclusion to this alternative version of the Robin Hood tale.

Thanks Netgalley and Mad Cave for the chance to read this title.
