While the plot had the complexity that science fiction readers rejoice over, the character development left something to be desired. Unfortunately, there were sections where the dialogue and/or character actions made it difficult to engage with the plot or take things seriously. While it didn't ruin the novel for me, I found myself being "taken out of" the world on more than a few occasions.
I was really enjoying this story up until the 5% or so - I found the ending (or really lack there of) to be huge let down after such careful crafting of the main characters in the evolution of the story.i
Wow! This was intense. A tribal-influenced sci-fi cyber thriller. I really enjoyed the story and didn't realize this was going to be a series. Although I don't understand theoretical astrophysics or coding, I was very invested in what was happening to the main characters.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This is such a good book! I love the weird sci-fi dystopian theme where we all live in a simulation. It is so cool to think about it, and the author did pretty good with descriptions and filling the gaps and answering questions. I like the pacing, but there were some pretty dense parts where there author did a lot of the describing, so I understand that has to be included to make the book understandable
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and especially the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review of the book!!
