I have followed Michael Galyon for some time on Instagram. He has an incredibly soothing voice and his brief meditations on there are the highlight of my day! I was therefore really excited to listen to more of him and learn more about mindfulness. Michael is the perfect narrator for his book and infuses the audiobook with the wisdom and compassion which shine through his voice. I really enjoyed hearing about his own journey to mindfulness and case studies of his clients. His meditations are always so beautiful, soothing and really help me find moments of mindfulness.
Although Michael gives a brief outline of the chapter heading which in turn provides a guide to contents, I felt I needed more guidance as to what I was going to be listening to. Specifically I wasn't always ready to dive into a meditation. Sometimes I wasn't in a position to take part. I needed a heads up about a meditation so that I could prepare for it and be in the right place mentally and physically. I wanted to be able to navigate around, sometimes heading past the meditation into the text, heading back to the meditation later. The labelling on the audio didn't allow for this. I have therefore ordered a book so that I can use the audiobook more organically and relative to my needs.
I do think that everyone should listen to Michael for positive mental health.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, RB Media and Ascent Audio for my digital copy of this audiobook.

After following the author on instagram for a while I was excited to hear that he was publishing a book and even more excited to have the opportunity to receive an early copy of the audiobook. Let it settle: daily habits to move you from chaos to calm is a lovely way to guide you through life’s challenging moments. With aspects of meditation and mindfulness, it offers insights into ways to calm your mind and navigate through times of distress. With real world examples and honest reflection about his own experiences Michael galyon has created a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a little peace in their lives. His soothing and genuine voice lends itself very well to the narration and I would highly recommend listening to the audio alongside the physical book.

Thanks to RBmedia, Ascent Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this affirming book in exchange for an honest review

Let It Settle is a book of tactics and techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and panic. Typically I would say authors would do well to leave the narration of their books to the professionals but Michael Galyon does a great job, a bit slow for my liking, but once I sped it up a bit it's fine and I tend to speed everything up anyway and the book is full of guided meditations which I appreciate though they appear to be mid chapters which would make them a bit difficult to find initially, though I listened to an advance reader copy so it may have gotten restructured upon publication.

This is a great book for dealing with big emotions and reactions or as the parent or caretaker of someone else with really big emotions.

Thanks to Netgalley for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Have you seen the dreamy guy on Instagram with the soft comforting voice and the message to slow down, take a breath, center yourself, and let it settle? It'll make you stop scrolling every time. His name is Michael Galyon, and now, he's written a book!

I received this book as an advanced listening copy from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review, and I cannot tell you how much I recommend it. If you clicked over to Michael's IG, you'll know what I mean by saying he has one of the most calming, gentle voices. Listening to it is like warm honey pouring across your shoulders and down your back. I don't know if it would even matter what he was saying, I think it would be a calming experience regardless.

But what he is saying is so valuable.

This book is designed to give you lots of tools he help guide you through stress, anxiety, and bad patterns of thinking. Even more than that, honestly. It is an arsenal to guard you against the chaos the human brain can often be.

There are very introductory meditation exercises here if you're a beginner, like the body scan, but there are also many more advanced exercises explored too, and each includes an anecdote that help to explain how they can be helpful in practical application.

Then there are the actual guided meditations. Again, the audiobook is going to give you more bang for your buck here. I've never felt more relaxed and centered when listening to an audiobook as I did this one. It is so soothing.

If you're looking for some extra help managing the chaos of your life, I really recommend this book. I think anyone could find something in its pages to benefit them.
