Tatsuya Endo’s penchant for interesting chapter title and promotional art, as well as his skill with character designs is put to great effect in thiscoloring book. Endo’s flair for costuming makes for several very nice pages, as does his way with interesting architecture. The images chosen for the coloring page convey very well the series’ the full range of action, suspicion, and sweetness.
The weakest pages are probably the six or seven that are copied directly from the manga. Though they show off some of the most memorable moments in the series, the lighter, sketchier pencil lines seems like they’d be less easy to use for coloring.
My main disappointment with the book is that I rather wished we had more pictures of characters other than the Foger Family and Ana’s school friends. The cast outside of the three central characters mostly just get a coloring page version of the various volume covers that featured them.
I love how all the characters are included and the pages include moments from the anime/manga as well as some cute drawings. The scenes are picked out very well. I especially love how there are pages with the whole family but Loid, Yor, and Anya still get individual coloring pages.
