I have not read many Scottish or Highland type of historical romances. The main reason behind this is the dialogue. I find it hard to follow with the accents that authors typically try to write with. However, this book is the best I've read so far due to the fact that the dialogue was very very easy to follow.
Apart from that note, I didn't really enjoy this book all that much. Cate's obsession with Gregor was annoying to me. Gregor was just a jerk all around. The problems the couple faces were huge, and the solutions didn't feel like enough. The love story focused too much on the physical relationship. I know this is petty, but the name Gregor McGregor bothered me with it being very unoriginal.
I think it's really bad while reading a romance that I was rooting for the hero's brother. However, when I really got to thinking about it, he deserved better than Cate. So I find myself interested in reading a love story about John, Gregor's younger brother. From a quick glance at sequels however, I didn't find one.
