The main character in this story is Amelie.
I found this story hard to follow I chose it because of the description.
There are mentions of death, mental health problems and horror.
Wasn't really my thing but I am sure it will appeal to others.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley
Enjoyable fantasy. Having read Bright Midnight (read this first if you can, more on that below) I happily jumped into this sequel. What will you find in The Ghosting Academy? Some dark horror, secrets held, secrets revealed, a yearning for a past love and an ‘everything you thought was’ turns out to be false. What do you expect though when your dealing with demons. Amelie is now an elite agent and has been putting her unusual skills to use to aid the Ghosting Academy. Using this to escape the hurts of her past, living on the surface of her given jobs, going through the motions without really thinking things through too much at all. But now she finds herself in a nightmare experience, eyes opened wide. What that really means is that The Ghost Academy better watch out because Amelie is not going down without a fight, and she can really fight! This story is to continue in another book. I can’t wait. For info: There are now four books in this series, some of which I believe are connected but read alone. I haven’t read them all. This is a sequel to book two in sequence. Read that one before this if you can as it will explain a lot of where this story is coming from. Thank you to LS Delorme, LiterallyPR, Limerent Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
I felt this book moved a little to fast. I could have also used better descriptions to help me imagine the setting.
The Ghosting Academy by LS Delorme this is 4th book of The Limerent Series, and what a fantastic series this has been. I am so glad I read these and they have all been a wonderful read. It is a very dark Psychological Fantasy Thriller that will have you hooked by the very first book and a great book for this time of year.
For as long as Amelie can remember, she has been an elite agent of the Academy, which is a place that offered her stability and purpose in exchange for using her unique skills for control and destruction. She has never questioned her orders, living in the moment and trusting the Academy to guide her.
Amelie and her team graduated and became full-fledged operatives, this is when everything changes.
They are all taken to a remote island, where they uncover a big web of dark secrets and betrayal that challenge everything they’ve believed.
They have to be alert at all times of the day, as at the heart of the mystery lies Verité, a twisted virtual reality game where time has no meaning and your blood holds the key to your soul.
WoW.............This book is full of twists and turns throughout that will have you wanting more
But does Amelie survive the Academy's path? does she escape its grip before it's too late?
Just excellent!
One thing I have loved about all of these books, it could be read as a standalone but I do highly recommend you read all of these books, they do not disappoint. I have loved reading these.
Review on Goodreads, Amazon UK, Water
Some points of the story had me confused but for the most part I was able to catch on, so I didn't take the fact that I didn't read the first 3 books in the series as a hinderance.
I would say if you like having an open mind, to go ahead and take this story for a whirl. There were times where I had to re-read and times where I questioned how or why? The beginning was okay but eventually the story did suck me in.
Ghosting Acadamy was a different book than I'm used to reading but enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone to read it all the same!

Review for 'Ghosting Academy' by LS Delorme
This is the fourth book in Delorme's 'The Limerent Series' but each book can be read as a standalone.
This book discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book Delorme discusses/includes graphic violence, explicit language, psychological manipulation, drug use, mental health struggles and chronic pain.
ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND ADDICTIVE BOOK IN THIS FANTASTIC SERIES!! AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ!! CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES AND GRAB YOUR COPY TODAY!
The first thing I want to point out is that although this is a science fiction/paranormal/fantasy book, if you are not a fan of these genres PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF!! I am not a massive fan of science fiction or fantasy at all but OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS AND BOOK SERIES I HAVE EVER READ!!! Honestly I genuinely cannot remember the last time I was so addicted to a book and series and was so devastated to come to the end of a book!!! I was absolutely gutted when the book finished and I had to say Goodbye to the characters. However, I am also pleased to say that this is just the fourth book in this series and I am most definitely looking forward to going back and reading the first book which is called Caio and then to read the next book in the series which is called fanning Fireflies and is available to read now. There is also a fifth book being released called 'Limerence' although there is not a date available yet. I am not a MASSIVE fan of reading books later on in a series without reading the first books prior to them but the silver lining is that when you come to the end you can go back and read the books that you have yet to read while waiting for the next book to be released which is exactly what I will be doing myself. Although this is the fourth book in the series I had absolutely no problems reading it without reading the first and second books in this brilliant series. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader. In this absolutely addictive and unique book we meet Amelie again who was 17 years old when I met her in 'Bright Midnights'. This book is based 18 years after 'Bright Midnights' and she is now 35 years old and instead of being a teenager is a young adult. She is now working as an elite agent for 'The Academy where she has found some stability but they have been using her powers for control and destruction. When Amelie and her pod graduate after 10 years of service they are transported to an isolated Island where they uncover a nightmare of labyrinths of deception and lies including a VR game called Verite. Who can Amelie trust and who is on the enemies side? What secrets will be revealed? Grab your copy of this spectacular page turner to find out for yourself and I can guarantee that you will not regret it. With a storyline ram packed with horror, nightmares, ghosts, suspense, secrets, twists and everything you could ask for plus more what on Earth are you waiting for?? I absolutely LOVED this addition to this fantastic series and cannot wait to go back to read the books I have missed in this series. This book really is a mind bending rollercoaster ride that will keep you guessing from one page to the next. I absolutely loved the VR aspect where blood holds the key to your soul along with the gothic and dark atmosphere which really made the hair on my arms stand up!!! The best thing about this book and in fact this whole series from what I have read so far is the completely unique storylines and characters which is extremely hard to come by. I have read hundreds and hundreds of books so to find something as unique as this is a breath of fresh air and extremely difficult to come by so a MASSIVE thank you to Delorme!! I was completely mesmerised and invested throughout in the characters and the storyline and I completely devoured it in one sitting of several hours. I genuinely could not put it down. At the start I attempted to tell myself just one more chapter before doing some actual work but I was absolutely itching to pick it up again so I did and gave up trying to put it down as Delorme had me hook, line and sinker!!! Her absolutely stunning, vivid and evocative writing skills and descriptions ensured the settings, characters and storyline all came to life in front of the readers eyes ensuring you can feel the danger and see and feel absolutely everything that that characters are feeling and seeing. With a storyline filled with mystery, angst, danger, fantasy, dreams, romance, friendship, horror, tension and absolutely everything that you could ask for and much, much more in a page turner then what on Earth are you waiting for?!?! Grab your copy today but clear your schedules first as you will NOT be able to put it down. On the few occasions where I looked up from the book it took me a few moments to work out where I actually was as I was so absorbed in the storyline. Delorme also covers topics such as graphic violence, manipulation, health and mental struggle but does so in a sensitive manner and weaves it into an addictive storyline. She covers all different spectrum of human behaviour ensuring that although this book is predominately paranormal, dystopian, horror and fantasy it is also realistic and believable at the same time and that ladies and gentleman screams true writing talent!!! I cannot wait to get stuck into the previous two book s that I have yet to read which are 'Caio' which is book 1 and 'Fanning Fireflies' which is book 3 along with future books in this series. I genuinely could go on and on about this amazing book but words cannot describe how addictive, unique and mesmerising this book and its characters are so instead I am just going to tell you to pick up your copy and you can Thank me later!!
CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES BEFORE PICKING UP THIS ABSOLUTE PAGE TURNING MUST READ AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN.
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to LS Delorme who wasn't afraid to create such a unique, addictive and mesmerising must read!! ANOTHER absolute breathe of fresh air! This is the exact reason that you are on my favourite author list and here is to what is guaranteed to be your next explosive success 🥂!!

Ghosting Academy is part of the Limerent Series by Delorme (book 4). Although the stories are linked you can easily read the book as a standalone.
It's a thoroughly absorbing and enjoyable psychological style paranormal thriller that held my attention immediately. So much so that I flew through the pages and devoured the book across two sittings.
The author's world building and her characterisations are fantastic, and the plot is pure page turning escapism.
I've read the previous book and the story really called my attention to be honest personally I'm not disappointed but I can understand that some people don't connect with the book the same way I did..
The book and the story is challenging and the characters needs to be a big girl and actually deal with secrets and truths that I'm not sure she was ready for but still were indeed important for the book to be well accomplished
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy
This book left a strong impression due to its atmosphere and unusual concept. The book immerses the reader in the world of a mysterious academy, where learning is connected not only with spiritual practices but also with communication with ghosts. The author skillfully conveys an eerie mood, keeping the intrigue to the very end. The characters are developed in depth, with interesting personal stories and internal conflicts.
Despite the predictability of some of the storylines, the book captures the atmosphere and the idea of hidden secrets. If you like stories with elements of mysticism and dark academicism, this novel may interest you.
Great continuation of the series, the story really flows and the characters still capture everything that they have for the previous books. I can't wait for more
Book Title & Author:
The Ghosting Academy by LS Delorme
The Hook:
What if everything you believed in is built on a lie? The Ghosting Academy pulls its readers into a world where trust is dangerous, death means nothing and every choice you make could unravel everything.
The Plot in Brief:
In a world where death is a illusion and nothing is ever certain Amelie must navigate the dangerous demands of the Academy while uncovering secrets that challenges everything she believes.
What I Enjoyed:
I loved the world building. The world felt alive and i could easily picture every setting, from the walls of the Academy to the events unfolding. And the way the storyline was filled with just the right amount of twist was just gold.
Room for Improvement:
While the book had a solid story, the slow start made it bit difficult to get into initially but even with that it was still an amazing read.
Best Part of the Book:
What really got to me was when Amelie was forced to question everything she knew by uncovering the Academy's secrets. It was the perfect mixture of suspense, tension and character growth.
Final Thoughts:
Overall the Ghosting Academy delivered an emotional ride filled with twist and dilemmas. I would recommend it to fans of dystopian who enjoys suspenseful plots and complex characters.
Quick Rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5)
While "The Ghosting Academy" delivers solid suspense and well-timed mystery elements, the controversial teacher-student relationship at its core proves problematic. The story's promising premise is ultimately undermined by uncomfortable sexual dynamics that detract from rather than enhance the narrative.
The author demonstrates skill in crafting tension and intrigue, with plot revelations expertly paced to keep readers engaged. The mystery elements are particularly well-executed, offering genuine surprises and satisfying twists throughout the story.
However, the romantic subplot's handling raises significant concerns. The power dynamics inherent in the teacher-student relationship are inadequately addressed, and the graphic sexual content feels gratuitous given the context. Rather than thoughtfully exploring the ethical complexities of such a relationship, the story sometimes seems to glorify this problematic dynamic.
While some readers might appreciate the book's suspense elements, those sensitive to age-gap relationships or power imbalances in romantic scenarios should approach with caution. The jarring contrast between the compelling mystery elements and the uncomfortable romantic subplot creates an uneven reading experience that may leave many readers conflicted.
This is a case where strong storytelling mechanics can't quite overcome questionable creative choices in character dynamics and relationship portrayal. Though the mystery aspects show promise, the problematic romantic elements overshadow the book's stronger points.
I found this difficult to get into. I hadn't read the others in the series so that might have been one factor, but the world-building was confusing. There's a lot of techy information, and I didn't click so well with the characters.
I swear I tried to read it. I really did. But this book was just so boring and not my style int he end I've decided to stop reading it. It's really slow paced and complicated and I haven't understand a word from it, and I feel so bad about it, but can't change it.
Was an interesting read but I didn’t realise it was part of a series. It had a good premise and was interesting but I don’t think it was very much for me.
Thank you for providing me with this ARC.
This was a thourghly engaging read, a cross between a dark sci-fi fantasy and a moral conundrum. who can you trust and is all as it seems?
Aaaah the cover! This book is good for the fall season with its premise. Some parts are to be noted that perhaps would trigger many. Think modern Lolita maybe?
This was a VERY interesting book, you have to pay a lot of attention, it does go off a bit. I didn't realize that this was book 4 in a series, but that was ok! I think that I was able to pick up and run with it. The characters were interesting, but buckle up. The story is crazy from start to finish. And that ending? No spoilers. But I need to know what happens. (Pretty please) Thank you to NetGalley for access to the ARC so that I could get the opportunity to read this!
I think this is a good book for the fall/halloween. I really like how the story kept on giving and wasn't a drag at all. Its very intriguing and spooky at the same time that it just makes you want to know what's going to happen next keeping you at the edge of your seat; Apart from that, the only thing that put me a little bit off by the relationship with the students and teachers, I just didn't expect the book to have that in when I started. Overall I did enjoy the story and read fully on one day!
**Review of *The Ghosting Academy***
*The Ghosting Academy*, the fourth installment in The Limerent Series, dives deeper into the chilling and intricate world of elite operatives, where morality and consciousness are fluid concepts. The author has crafted a gripping narrative that challenges the boundaries of trust, identity, and reality itself.
At the heart of the story is Amelie, a dedicated agent whose unwavering loyalty to the Academy has defined her existence. The author skillfully portrays Amelie’s internal conflict as she transitions from a blindly obedient operative to a questioning individual grappling with the Academy’s true motives. This evolution is compelling, and readers will find themselves rooting for her as she navigates the labyrinthine twists of the plot.
The setting of a remote island serves as the perfect backdrop for the unfolding drama, creating an atmosphere of isolation and suspense. As Amelie and her team uncover dark secrets within the Academy, the stakes escalate dramatically. The introduction of Verité, a nightmarish virtual reality game, adds layers of complexity and intrigue. The concept of time being warped and consciousness treated as a commodity raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of reality and the human experience.
The pacing is tight, with each revelation leaving readers on the edge of their seats. The author expertly weaves tension throughout the narrative, balancing action with moments of introspection that delve into the psychological implications of the characters’ experiences. Amelie’s struggle to break free from the Academy’s grip resonates deeply, and her journey of self-discovery is both poignant and exhilarating.
Themes of betrayal and control are pervasive, making the reader reflect on the price of loyalty and the cost of blind obedience. The moral dilemmas faced by Amelie and her team add depth to the storyline, challenging them—and the audience—to consider what it means to be truly free.
*The Ghosting Academy* stands out not only for its thrilling plot but also for its rich character development and philosophical undercurrents. As Amelie confronts the haunting truths of her past and the Academy’s sinister objectives, readers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotion and suspense.
In conclusion, *The Ghosting Academy* is a masterful continuation of The Limerent Series that will captivate fans and newcomers alike. With its gripping narrative, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes, this installment is a must-read for anyone who enjoys speculative fiction that pushes the boundaries of reality. Prepare for a haunting journey that will linger long after the last page is turned.
