Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for for my honest review.

This was an engaging thriller and I devoured it quickly. I love stories about bands in the height of their short-lived heyday. However, the transformation of the sister was a bit abrupt and I had trouble buying the characters’ motives. The ending was also unsatisfying for me.

I usually like Sandie Jones but this book just did not do it for me. The characters were all highly unlikable, I couldn't find it in me to care. There was too much drugs and sex and not enough thrills. The ending also left me very confused..

(2.5/5) This book had its engaging elements but was overall something of a slog to get through. I simply couldn’t connect with the characters and it felt like a big lead up to disappointment. Considering I read this thinking it was a novel and not a series, the ending was a bit frustrating. While the premise of the book had a lot of promise, something about the novel felt incomplete. I could have gone without this one.

Thank you the NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, wow, wow! I’ve enjoyed Sandie’s books since her debut, The Other Woman, came out in 2018. Regarding her most recent book, I Would Die for You, I was sucked in from the beginning. I absolutely loved the dual timeline and the portrayal of life of a band member/groupie. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I loved it!

"I Would Die for You" by Sandie Jones is a captivating blend of suspense and nostalgia, expertly bridging the gap between the glamour of the 1980s music scene and a chilling mystery in the present. With its dual timelines and richly drawn characters, the story explores themes of obsession, fame, and the bonds of family. Jones masterfully intertwines the fervor of fandom with a mother's desperate search for her daughter, creating a taut, emotional thriller. A must-read for fans of music-infused drama and twisty mysteries.

This book seemed to be very predictable, I predicted all the twists and turns it would take, and many were not shocking at all. This book had such potential, but it was hard for me to really find myself routing for any of the characters as they were just not likeable. I will still continue to read Sandie Jones books, but this one was just not it for me. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC and the chance to provide my honest feedback.

After also reading The Idea of You by Robinne Lee this was a no brainer, to pick up and keep the pop star fantasy going! Who doesn't want to meet and date a pop star? Every girl has that one band and one singer they fantasize about. I really liked this book and the twists and turns. While I thought I had it figured out, Sandi threw one more little twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Another great book, I'm already looking forward to her next book! I love her writing.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for my advanced copy.

What teenage girl hasn't had a massive musical crush and wants to follow them around and dreams of being their girlfriend? That part was pretty relatable, I was an 80s rock girl. However these teenage girls - truly out of their mind crazy and maybe I've just never been a true die hard (no pun intended) fan like these girls were because there were parts that although intense just seemed so fake that it was hard to grasp and I knew all about the bands and their wild partying ways back then. I'm a very visual reader and hard as I tried, I just couldn't complete the vision on this one.
The story started out strong for me and kept me questioning and wondering till about half to three-fourths of the way through at which point it started to drag for me. It was not what I was expecting based on the title and by the time all is revealed I was like, just tell me already and not because I was on the edge of my seat but because I was becoming bored with it. There was definitely a lot going on in this dual timeline story and it has some unexpected twists but it just seemed to drag and I don't think I really liked any of the characters. All the characters and the dual timelines just didn't seem to come together well for me.
I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars but not quite enough to round up to 4.

Like many have said, I needed more clarity at the end of the book. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story line and twists. I couldn’t put this book down.

This was a unique and enjoyable read. It centers primarily on Nicole, over 2 timelines: one in 1986 when her little sister Cassie is obsessed with a hot band, and one in 2010 when Nicole is happily married and settled, when questions start to arise around her involvement in events from back in the 1980s. I enjoyed the earlier timeline better, as I was more able to immerse myself in that narrative than the later one.

While I really liked young Nicole, I felt some frustration with the older version, primarily around why she was so obtuse with her husband and others about what had happened in the past. It felt like a lot of the issues would have been avoided if she had just been more honest. The chain of events leading to a tragic situation from the earlier timeframe was both suspenseful and sad, while also feeling realistic. I really didn’t like the end of the book and thought it was too abrupt; while I think I get what the author wanted the reader to think happened, I wish it had been laid out better. I was glad I read the author’s afterward about what the book was based on, as I didn’t realize that there were real fans out there that had created that kind of relationship with bands. I now want to go watch the movie “Almost Famous” again!

Overall, I thought this was a unique premise with characters that elicited strong emotions and an overall fast paced story. While I didn’t love the ending, I did like the overall story. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow Just wow. You will never see any of the twists and turns in this suspenseful novel. Well done, Sandie Jones. The story goes between 2 time periods 1986 and 2010. The story follows Two sisters, Nicole and Cassie . Cassie is obsessed with a band back in the 80's and follows them everywhere. Nicole also ends up involved with the band. Events that take places in 86 are brought back to light in 2010 threatening to destroy Nicole's life. One of the best books of the year .

At first I had a take it or leave it attitude about this book. Then as I got more into it I couldn't put it down. Sadly, the end was very disappointing. It was almost like a dangling sentence. I get that in a lot of cases the reader does assume the ending. But, this was so sudden. I even scrolled a few pages ahead to make sure I hadn't missed anything. This was my first novel by this author. On the fence as to whether I would read anything else of hers.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!!

I definitely could not put this book down since the chapters were formed just so that each almost ended on a cliffhanger and you had to keep going. I would give this book 4 or 5 stars if Cassie’s character was slightly more developed instead of going straight into psycho territory. The end was also lack luster for how the story was building up. Overall an interesting premise with blah characters, but quick and easy read!

I Would Die for You is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep readers hooked until its chilling conclusion. While not her most groundbreaking work, it’s a solid addition to Sandie Jones’s bibliography. Perfect for fans of twisty domestic thrillers, this novel is a reminder of how dangerous love can be.

While I moved through the book fairly quickly especially as the ending neared, it was an abrupt ending that left me confused. That lowered my rating by a star. I also agree with others that so many characters were unlikable.

This story is a complex mixer of family ties fraying, history to be forgotten, and the murder of a musician. The writer provides an amalgam of individual stories for each character bring the stories together for an intriguing ending. I’m giving it four because I would like to have seen more intrinsic detail . I’m onboard with this author and will read subsequent books.

I started reading this book and had a really hard time getting into it, so I am adding it to my DNF list. I am sure someone else may enjoy this, but I found myself rolling my eyes a lot.

3.5 Stars-"I Would Die for You," takes fan obsession to a whole new level. In 1986, Cassie becomes obsessed with a band called "Secret Oktober." She falls head over heels for one of the singers. Her sister Nicole is an aspiring singer and also forms a tie to the same band. Both of them are also dealing with the fact that their mother is dying. Fast forward to 2010, Nicole has completely changed her identity, moved to another country, and is lying about her past to her husband and daughter. Something tragic happened in 1986 and as the book alternates between the two time periods, the reader learns just how far sisters will go to right wrongs.

This was definitely a thriller that kept me guessing until the very end of the book. It was dark, twisty, and one of the characters can only be described as evil. The writing was good and each chapter left me on a cliff hanger. I'm rating it down a half star simply because I wanted more out of Nicole and that ending was not enough.

Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for this ARC.

A slow burn family drama about Nicole, who is living a new life in California, when a reporter shows up asking her about the downfall of an ‘80s British band, Secret Oktober, and Nicole’s connection to its lead singer, Ben Edwards. And then Nicole’s daughter is taken from school. Peppered with scenes from Nicole’s past life in London and her younger sister Cassie, who has fallen in with a dangerous crowd obsessed with the boy bad Secret Oktober. There are a number of entertaining hooks and some interesting character development. This one is absorbing and entertaining.
