I read this book in two days. Enjoying this romantic comedy a lot. I can totally see this book made into a wonderful Christmas m0vie.
Cassie O'Hara decides to spend some of the money left by her beloved nan on a month long stay in rural England. She feels that her life is in a rut and needs a change and boy does she get one. Arriving to a dirty, cold and musty cottage she is soon staying with the owner - the Lord of the manor (hunk no.1) in his mansion. Whilst (hunk no.2) renovates her holiday let.
The Manor is also in need of change to bring in much needed revenue can she help? A stray dog called Eejit, an glam ex wife, a Butler, a temperamental teenager and most of the village think she can!
Lots of laugh out moments in a very heart warming story.

This was a lovely little holiday read. It was light, cheerful and cozy- something I desperately needed in my reading right now! Cassie decides to use the money her grandmother left her to go and discover where her grandmother grew up. She is coming off of a breakup with her fiance, is at a dead end with her job as an event planner, and decides to go against her OCD tendencies and just take off. She ends up staying in a run down little house in little country village. Here she meets Charles, a charming aristocrat, and Lyle the blue eyed Irishman with secrets. Charles engages her expertise to update the manor to draw tourists to the little town. Lyle is the foreman of construction for the job.

I really liked Cassie, and seeing her become more independent and regain her love for her job. The interactions between she and the two men and all the townspeople was fun. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and it was a nice place for me as a reader to visit! I also like how the community comes together to help each other- always love that in a story!

This is a quick and inviting read, full of cheer and hope. It is a closed door romance (which I prefer!). Perfect read for the coming season!

This was a great big warm hug of a book, as I have come to expect from the queen of comfort reads.

Once again Debbie Johnson has conjured up a magical sounding setting that I never want to leave, and really hope might be the start of another series.

I absolutely loved Cassie, Ryan, Eileen, Charles and Eejit, and everyone else too.

And the New Yorker in England for Christmas staying in what is known as Little Ireland is a lovely touch.

Plenty of Irish slang and colloquialism added to the quaintness of the village.

There is a wonderful community spirit and this really is the best place for Cassie to heal after some recent tough years.

This is a beautifully heartwarming story that I couldn't get enough of, and the pages just seemed to whizz past.

An absolute pleasure to read.

The cutest Christmas romance that involves traveling, discovering a new place, found family, and a bit of a love triangle. After being jilted at the alter and wallowing for 3 years, Cassie decides to spend Christmas month in Ireland in a charming little town. She rents a beautiful, cozy cottage called Whimsy, but arrives to find it unlivable. A mistake with the bookings leads her to meet a handsome Irish handyman and a charming viscount at Bancroft Manor, both of whom show interest in her, as they work together to renovate the cottage while she stays at the manor. As she uses her event planning skills to save the manor, she involves all the villagers and their talents, and finds herself a new purpose while figuring out which man will be her future.

This is a sweet, closed-door romance, perfect for your grandmothers and mother-in-laws. There's zero spice, and sometimes the chemistry may be missing because of that, but I still enjoyed the story and all the lovable side characters. It is quite humorous and is a great uplifting story of faith in second chances. Did I mention there's a Christmas cow? Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-ARC.

This was another fabulous read by this author and had real vibes of the film the holiday and would also make a cosy hallmark film.

This was a heartwarming and cosy read with engaging characters and an engaging storyline and had everything a feel good read needs.

This book also had a lovely festive feel but could be read at anytime.

Loved the concept but unfortunately the writing was a little bit bland and I got bored. I felt the storytelling was a bit too generic and the plot development lacked momentum.

A book that allowed me to escape into my little Irish fantasy.... what a lovely, makes you smile like a fool read.
The characters were brought to life beautifully by the author, and the storyline had me wanting to dive between the pages of the book and escape there with them.

This book was cute. The characters were all very well written, and the story was pleasant. It was all quite dreamy and seems idyllic. Yes, I would love to go visit!!!

I will say, as Cassie is visiting from the U.S., I always find out strange when someone who is a complete stranger somehow ingratiates themselves into the local culture, seemingly overnight. Does that really happen ... anywhere?? It's so ridiculous to me and throws the slightest of wrenches into me fully falling into the book.

That's not to say I didn't really like the book, I did. I just wonder about that aspect of it.

Great fun Christmas themed novel about an American who is looking to find out more about her Irish roots. The majority of the story is set in England in a village where there is a large Irish population. I enjoyed the Christmas backdrop and the sub characters brought a real warmth to the novel - Georgie was brilliant and should have a book of her own. Thanks to Net Galley for the advanced copy.

Okay, I'm here for this! I was going to wait until Christmas to read it, as I'm going to the UK but I couldn't wait! And man this was so good. Cute and charming and the perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit! I will recommend this again and again to friends and family.

It’s time to dig into the holiday books and here is a good one. A Very Irish Christmas is about a woman who uses her inheritance from her Irish grandma to take a solo trip over the holidays to a village in England that is like a mini-Ireland. Small town, festive feelings, all the cute things. I love how she did this alone. I love how she immersed herself in the village and became part of the things. There are 2 possible love interests so lots of swooning. And quirky side characters to add to the charm and make me laugh. Oh, and a sweet stray dog.

Christmas book will always have a special place in my heart specially when they are so cute as this one was!!

I was on my knees for them and I love every second of it. The little things were amazing and I adored the christmas scenarios and aspect of it - so, so worthy.

If you are looking for a romance book with christmas vibes, this is the one!

Ms Johnson takes us on a wild ride from the streets of New York City to the remote Cotswolds of England in this cozy modern romantic tale A Very Irish Christmas. Cassie has the opportunity to return to the area where her Grandma came from, nearly 75 years earlier, and she learns so much about herself and her extended family along the way.

Cassie has difficult choices to make - not just where to stay while in England, but how long, as things in her life begin to change and she finally starts to re-discover who she is and can become.

The romance level is quite warm, but not explicit (thank you!). I really liked how the emphasis was on relationships - all kinds - and building depth to those relationships, not just tension.

"A Very Irish Christmas" by Debbie Johnson is a fun holiday read. It follows burned-out, long-ago-jilted-at-the=altar New Yorker Cassie as she ventures into the English countryside to enjoy a month-long stay in a quaint cottage. Along with the cottage not being as shown on internet, she stumbles into a love triangle with two very different but equally appealing men. On one hand, there’s Charles, the chivalrous English aristocrat with impeccable manners and a life that he's barely holding together. On the other, there’s Ryan, the Irish handyman whose flirty jokes mask a troubled past. The three of them, and the whole village full of zany characters, have to band together to revive their local economy. Not to give too many spoilers away, but I didn't agree with the love interest Cassie chooses--especially since the whole book seemed to be build Even so, Johnson’s festive romance remains a sweet, feel-good read, perfect for fans of holiday rom-coms.

A charming festive holiday love triangle that sees a recently single American woman travelling to Ireland over Christmas thanks to an inheritance from her grandmother. While there she gets caught up in the conflict between a single father member of the aristocracy and a sad blue collar widower who isn't ready to risk his heart on love again.

I really loved the setting and atmosphere of this kissing only love story and despite mixed reviews enjoyed it a lot, especially on audio. After Cassie gets jilted at the altar, she has a hard time letting go. When her ex gets married, her family and friend encourage her to use the money she inherited from her beloved grandmother and take a trip to explore her Irish heritage. She impulsively books a cottage in a place nicknamed Little Ireland which is actually in England. After a bumpy start, she finds herself staying at the Bancroft Estate mansion with the handsome Charles Bancroft and family while the equally handsome handyman Ryan fixes up the cottage she was supposed to be staying at. Hmm, two handsome guys with potential? Can Cassie believe that they would actually be interested in her?

This book is definitely a candidate for a Hallmark movie. The Irish heritage and old-world setting, two attractive men with heartbreaking pasts, friendly and quirky townspeople, a crisis that needs solving, beautiful snow-covered countryside, and an affectionate dog. It has it all. The characters are all easy to like and I wasn't sure who I wanted Cassie to end up with even though I had an idea who it would be. I highly recommend this book for a sweet pre-Christmas read.

I’m here for a great Christmas novel! It felt relatable since the main character was close to my age and I have traveled to both London and Ireland. While I wouldn’t be able to purchase for my library, I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Cassie must get her life going in the right direction. She has had a tough time after getting jilted at the altar. She knows it’s time to change things, so she heads abroad to do just that. She finds an adorable cottage to rent for a month and then she sees it is not what was expecting. Instead, it needs some attention. Along with finding this she finds Ryan and Charles.
Cassie can see her life changing. She likes the village life is what she needs. She is happy and I could feel the joy she does as I was reading.
I liked the characters , the location and the direction the author took all the characters in while I was reading.

Loved it. An enjoyable tale of overcoming past hurts and losses. A wonderful collection of characters in this small town in England. I was captivated from beginning to end. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary. I am eager to read more by this author.

Such a lovely Christmas story and the characters were amazing to follow. I got so invested in this story that I finished it within hours. I was hooked and need to read more of Johnson's work asap.
