Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy by Nora Roberts continues the story of Sonya MacTavish and her paranormal battle with Astrid Poole in the mansion on the coast of Maine. I’ve listened to the audiobooks of both book one and two and have thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Brittany Pressley. She does a fantastic job switching between the many different characters with different accents and adds emotion as well. Looking forward to the final book in the series - hope I don’t have to wait a year for it! Great series and I’m looking to see how this will all wrap up.
The second book in The Lost Bride Trilogy is beautifully narrated by Brittany Pressley. The story continues immediately from Inheritance to The Mirror. I read the first book, Inheritance, nearly a year ago. If your memory is as bad as mine, read the last few chapters of Inheritance before starting The Mirror.
The story is set in a beautiful old mansion on the ocean in Maine that Sonya inherited from her previously unknown uncle Collin. Joining her is her best friend Cleo, her new love, Trey and her cousin. They eat many meals together and the meals are described in detail. Have a snack nearby while reading. Lol
This is a fun, guilty pleasure type story full of ghosts, some playful, some angry. I enjoyed this one nearly as much as I enjoyed the first one and I’m looking forward to the final book in the trilogy.
Nora Roberts is an amazing storyteller. From her unpredictable stories to her unforgettable characters, she continues to be a must read for me, all these years later.
The Mirror turns breathtaking into heartstopping. There's a twist waiting around ever corner. Nothing is as it seems and that's what makes the adventure so intriguing. Emotion runs deep and drama burns bright.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the the ARC.
I loved the first book in this series and this one was just as good. Well written as all of Nora’s books are and great narration. Lovely book
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this audiobook. I love anything narrated by Brittany Pressley.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I definitely enjoyed this installment, but it felt very much like a connector book.
More secrets are revealed and more things are left unanswered with this second installment in the trilogy. Sonya and Cleo are becoming stronger in the mansion as things get wilder, but with each bride's story things are clicking in place. This is an audiobook filled with intrigue and mishaps but at the same time the listeners are left with a sense of peace and love. I cannot wait to see where the last installment will takes us. Good vs. Evil has never been so entertaining. The narrator was spot on.
Nora Roberts writes an excellent romance novel. As far as her trilogies go, this was a strange middle section, without much development. I am excited to read the final installment but I wish these trilogies were released together, especially when they are such a strong continuation.
Be sure to read the first one first, and I would recommend ensuring they are read close to one another.
Thank you to Net Galley and Macmillan Audio for the audio ARC!
Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy is spectacular! As Sonya gets settled in the Victorian mansion that she inherits more of its history and the family of her father's past is revealed. It's gruesome and intriguing. With the help of Cleo, Trey and Owen they will go through a myriad of discoveries. So looking forward to Book 3!
Nora Roberts is a must read author of mine. The Mirror was the latest book of hers that I’ve read. I listened to the audiobook version and I loved it!
Thanks to Nora Roberts, St. Martin's Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for allowing me free access to ARCs in exchange for an honest review.
True Title: In Which Meals Are Had

I'm not reading Nora Roberts anymore. I know I've bitched about her in the past, but for real this time, I'm done. The first half of this book was just a series of meals with the occasional lame haunt thrown in. The premise is intriguing, but the execution is just a ramble of unnecessary and inconsequential details. Who gives a flying rat's ass what color and material the tables and chairs are at the party they're planning? Who cares what the menu is for every goddamn meal they eat? Who cares about work projects that present no conflict and have nothing to do with the plot? The fluff is suffocating. What's that? The MC's love interest is falling in love with her? News to me, because we're not seeing it on the page. I feel no chemistry between Sonya and Trey, and none between Chloe and Owen. The haunts aren't scary, there's no tension, the stakes feel like a shrug, none of the characters are remotely interesting. Sweet jesus, Roberts's writing is in the shitter. They really will pay her to write to-do lists---because people keep reading them! It's so frustrating! It's a fricken scam! You're paying for a name and reputation, not a quality product. Either Roberts has no editor or her editor has no spine. Or skill. I'm so glad I stopped paying for Roberts's books years ago. I'm done. Done, done, done. I feel like ordering an arrangement of white lilies, because I'm grieving this loss.
