This book was an average read for me , unfortunately I felt that there was a lot of repeating of patterns and we weren’t going anywhere — I really feel that book 1 and 2 could’ve been edited down to make one book, but I am invested in the story and will still read the last book, cause I want to know what happens and how it all ends. We do learn a little bit more about the seven brides and their back stories , and a little bit of plot building with regard to interactions with Dobbs ( the one haunting the house in a menacing way). The audiobook , really helped to enhance the story for me the narrator has a great ability to make very different voices for the characters. I read the ebook and audiobook in tandem.
Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for this ARC . This is my honest review.

Brittany Presley was the narrator for the audible book The Mirror by Nora Roberts. It was easy to follow the story while listening to her. The book picks up where The Inheritance left off. Sonja and Cleo are living in the manor. Trey and Colin, along with family members are featured in the unraveling of why Hester kills the brides. The voice changes for characters and never drags. You can picture the characters while listening to the book. It's heartbreaking listening to what Sonja finds out. Nora Roberts never disappoints and Brittany Presley doesn't either.

he Mirror by Nora Roberts is the second book in her The Lost Bride Trilogy. It immediately picks up where the first book ends with cousins Sonya and Owen going through the mirror in attempt to stop Hannah Dobbs from killing another bride. (no spoilers, so I won't tell you if they succeed)
I always love that Ms. Roberts seems to hook me from the first chapter and I immediately fall into her books and this is no different. Sonya, Owen, her best friend Cleo, and Sonya's burgeoning romance with Trey is incredibly interesting and I was invested in their relationship from the beginning in the first book and this book deepens that.
With the backdrop of Maine, mansions, mystery, the supernatural, and of course, romance, I loved every aspect of this book and my only complaint is that I will have to wait for the final installment.
Let's hope they are able to stop the killing of the brides!
The audiobook is narrated by Brittany Pressley and she does an excellent job. She makes each character have their own voice who pulls you seamlessly into the story. I listened to this almost all the way through - a feat that also made my house cleaner than it's been in ages. :)
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Nora Roberts for this book. I loved it. All opinions are obviously my own.

Book Two in the Lost Bride Trilogy by Nora Roberts.
I have been waiting a year for this book! I received an advanced Ecopy, but really wanted the audio too. I started the ebook and then moved to the audio. The narrator does such a great job, even when reading the Ebook, I could hear her voice for each character in my head. Brittany Pressley is quickly becoming a favorite narrator.
The storyline continues with Sonya and her haunted manor. Trying to figure out how to get the rings back from Hester Dobbs. Finding more paintings and more clues as to how Hester can haunt the manor...
I really enjoyed it now, waiting another year for the final installment.
This is also a great trilogy that would make for a great limited tv series!!

This is the second in a series, but it seems it could also be read alone as I did. I didn’t feel like much excitement happened in this book. Maybe it’s just not my genre of book, but I felt pretty bored. Narrator did a good job, easy to follow. Most seem to really really like this book and author, so again, maybe just not my style. Thank you for opportunity to review.

I listened to the Audio Book, which I got for free through NetGalley. This second installment in the series did not disappoint! It picks up right as the first book ends and again end on a thrilling note. The character development and romances, trials, tribulations, and celebrations all were top notch and all add to the over all story line and individual character. I loved this book and I love this series. I can't wait for the next book!

Getting the opportunity to review this novel was a dream come true. After everything that happened over the past ten months, I was a joy to be able to happily my thoughts about The Mirror after my disheartening inability to confidently articulate my joy over having been selected to review The Inheritance, what seems like forever ago.
The Mirror opens where “The Inheritance” left off with Owen and Sonya going through a magical mirror into their family’s past. This novel continues the journey of Sonya, Tre, Cleo and Owen as the try to remove the ghost of a murderess witch from Lost Bride Manor. The two couples continue to make the manor a home as they also try to unravel the curse that has dogged the Poole family’s heels for generations. Flipping back and forth between the past and the present, this novel is a mix between thriller, romance and paranormal romp.
Sonya is trying to build her fledgling graphic design business into a thriving one while nurturing her growing relationship and slowly learning more about the family she never knew existed. I could go on and on about this novel but want to review this novel without giving away too many details. The minor details are what made this novel such an amazing experience and would never want to write a review that deprives other readers of the joy that is unraveling the mystery for themselves.

This book is the second in the series and I strongly recommend reading "The Inheritance" first.
In this book, Sonya and her friend continue to learn more about the mansion and its other-worldly inhabitants. They are digging into the history of the family that has lived there for generations, although seven young brides have died there. Sonya is comfortable with the friendly occupants and is also getting more confidence in confronting the witch that haunts the mansion. She's also gained confidence in using the mirror when it calls to her. It's a portal into the past.
The women are building lives in Maine and are creating and expanding their careers there.
Great Nora Roberts read. This book does not conclude the story. The third book in the trilogy is still to come.
There is some language that may be objectionable to some readers, but if you've read other books by this author, it is at the same level as previous books.
I have both the e-book and the audio book. The narrator is excellent. She does voices and accents very well.

THANK YOU! to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an early audiobook edition of “The Mirror” by Nora Roberts, narrated by Brittany Pressley for an honest review.
First, I want to discuss Brittany Pressley, one of my favorite narrators. I only have three favorite narrators, but I have listened to all three with the last three books, which feels like I am saying this a lot. She can change her voice for each character and keep it up throughout the book. During the entire story, you hear the voice and know who the character is, that cannot be easy! Truly exceptional.
I have been anticipating this 2nd installment since finishing the 1st in the series, which I loved. This one did not disappoint. I do feel like you have to believe in ghosts and witches to like this series, but as I have never received evidence that they do not exist, I believe they do, and as such, I love ghost stories. I was so excited when Macmillan Audio approved my request. I flew through this book, finishing in 2 days. Macmillan Audio, I hope you approve my request for book number 3 as soon as it is ready!
The storyline is about a very likable Sonya who moved to Maine in book one into a haunted mansion in Maine. A mansion handed down from generation to generation on Sonya’s father's side. The mansion is called the Lost Bride’s mansion, as 7 brides died in the house, most on their wedding days. The house has many good ghosts and one malevolent ghost. Sonya surrounds herself with her tribe, which consists of her best friend Chloe, her now boyfriend Trey, and her cousin Owen. The characters are wonderful, you will love all of them.
This second book begins to give you the back story of each bride before their faithful death and gives you a glimpse into Hester Dobs, the witch who is also the malevolent spirit in the house. As Hester tries to get Sonya to leave, Sonya doubles down trying to find a way to break the curse.
This is another great book and I cannot wait for the third in the series to be released.
Couple of things you might want to know, you should read #1 before this one, the characters were developed in the first book. I think you will be missing the connection with the characters if you try to read this one first. However, if you do read this one first, the author did give a little of the back story to get you up to speed.
There is a love story, but it is not a romance, where they keep missing each other. It is boy meets girl, there is a connection and they run with it. The author very tactfully includes intimate scenes. They are necessary for the story, as the author depicts the intimate moments as a joyous release from the craziness in the house. A joyous release that brings happiness to the house, which Hester Dobbs hates. However, if you do not like sex scenes, I figured I would let you know they are included.

Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy by Nora Roberts continues the story of Sonya MacTavish and her paranormal battle with Astrid Poole in the mansion on the coast of Maine. I’ve listened to the audiobooks of both book one and two and have thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Brittany Pressley. She does a fantastic job switching between the many different characters with different accents and adds emotion as well. Looking forward to the final book in the series - hope I don’t have to wait a year for it! Great series and I’m looking to see how this will all wrap up.

The second book in The Lost Bride Trilogy is beautifully narrated by Brittany Pressley. The story continues immediately from Inheritance to The Mirror. I read the first book, Inheritance, nearly a year ago. If your memory is as bad as mine, read the last few chapters of Inheritance before starting The Mirror.
The story is set in a beautiful old mansion on the ocean in Maine that Sonya inherited from her previously unknown uncle Collin. Joining her is her best friend Cleo, her new love, Trey and her cousin. They eat many meals together and the meals are described in detail. Have a snack nearby while reading. Lol
This is a fun, guilty pleasure type story full of ghosts, some playful, some angry. I enjoyed this one nearly as much as I enjoyed the first one and I’m looking forward to the final book in the trilogy.

Nora Roberts is an amazing storyteller. From her unpredictable stories to her unforgettable characters, she continues to be a must read for me, all these years later.
The Mirror turns breathtaking into heartstopping. There's a twist waiting around ever corner. Nothing is as it seems and that's what makes the adventure so intriguing. Emotion runs deep and drama burns bright.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the the ARC.
I loved the first book in this series and this one was just as good. Well written as all of Nora’s books are and great narration. Lovely book

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this audiobook. I love anything narrated by Brittany Pressley.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I definitely enjoyed this installment, but it felt very much like a connector book.

More secrets are revealed and more things are left unanswered with this second installment in the trilogy. Sonya and Cleo are becoming stronger in the mansion as things get wilder, but with each bride's story things are clicking in place. This is an audiobook filled with intrigue and mishaps but at the same time the listeners are left with a sense of peace and love. I cannot wait to see where the last installment will takes us. Good vs. Evil has never been so entertaining. The narrator was spot on.

Nora Roberts writes an excellent romance novel. As far as her trilogies go, this was a strange middle section, without much development. I am excited to read the final installment but I wish these trilogies were released together, especially when they are such a strong continuation.
Be sure to read the first one first, and I would recommend ensuring they are read close to one another.
Thank you to Net Galley and Macmillan Audio for the audio ARC!

Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy is spectacular! As Sonya gets settled in the Victorian mansion that she inherits more of its history and the family of her father's past is revealed. It's gruesome and intriguing. With the help of Cleo, Trey and Owen they will go through a myriad of discoveries. So looking forward to Book 3!

Nora Roberts is a must read author of mine. The Mirror was the latest book of hers that I’ve read. I listened to the audiobook version and I loved it!

Thanks to Nora Roberts, St. Martin's Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for allowing me free access to ARCs in exchange for an honest review.
True Title: In Which Meals Are Had
DNF 45%
I'm not reading Nora Roberts anymore. I know I've bitched about her in the past, but for real this time, I'm done. The first half of this book was just a series of meals with the occasional lame haunt thrown in. The premise is intriguing, but the execution is just a ramble of unnecessary and inconsequential details. Who gives a flying rat's ass what color and material the tables and chairs are at the party they're planning? Who cares what the menu is for every goddamn meal they eat? Who cares about work projects that present no conflict and have nothing to do with the plot? The fluff is suffocating. What's that? The MC's love interest is falling in love with her? News to me, because we're not seeing it on the page. I feel no chemistry between Sonya and Trey, and none between Chloe and Owen. The haunts aren't scary, there's no tension, the stakes feel like a shrug, none of the characters are remotely interesting. Sweet jesus, Roberts's writing is in the shitter. They really will pay her to write to-do lists---because people keep reading them! It's so frustrating! It's a fricken scam! You're paying for a name and reputation, not a quality product. Either Roberts has no editor or her editor has no spine. Or skill. I'm so glad I stopped paying for Roberts's books years ago. I'm done. Done, done, done. I feel like ordering an arrangement of white lilies, because I'm grieving this loss.
