This story had a lot going on all at once. I wasn’t hard to follow it, just lots of moving pieces. I wasn’t positive on the killer but had a pretty good hunch on who it was right away, although there were lots of twists and surprises throughout the book.
I didn’t mind the narrator for the majority of the book, but when she tried to do an Australian accent for the finance, I just about gave up on the book all together. It was that bad. Luckily it was just splashed in throughout the book and not one of the main characters.

I enjoyed the concept of this book with the crime investigation playing a large role in the book. I was a little thrown off by the bachelorette party and the events that took place during it because it seemed to be odd. I liked the ending and enjoyed the way in which the book wrapped up.

The Bachelorette Party is a twisty and inventive thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is told in dual timelines from a single POV of the bachelorette. I’m afraid if I say anything else I could give something away, but here are some words to feed your curiosity: serial killer, nightmares, blood, danger, cold, fear, instincts, journalism.
I really enjoyed this thriller. I knew I would, so I kept it in my pocket for a rainy day. My regret? Not reading it sooner. But also, I’m glad I waited for that rainy day.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was well done by a single narrator. I listened at 1.75x speed (my normal audiobook listening speed is 1.75x).
Thank you NetGalley and HighBridge Audio for allowing me to listen to this audiobook.

Sandra Block's The Bachelorette Party is a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller that blends dark crime with a chilling setting, creating a captivating read. The story follows Alex, a young woman with a promising career as an investigative news intern and a seemingly perfect fiancé. However, her bachelorette weekend turns into a nightmare when her best friends take her to a remote hunting lodge in the Catskill Mountains, inspired by her obsession with the infamous 666 Killer, a notorious serial killer.
The weekend quickly spirals out of control when a blizzard traps the group, and Alex wakes up to find her friends missing, with blood on her hands and their sleeping bags. As she tries to piece together what happened, Alex begins to fear that the notorious 666 Killer might be back, and the chilling events surrounding her interview with the killer have awakened something dangerous.
Block skillfully weaves a tense narrative filled with mystery and psychological twists. The haunting setting, combined with Alex's deep knowledge of true crime, makes for a thrilling ride as she races against time to find her friends and uncover the truth. The tension builds as Alex grapples with her past obsession with the 666 Killer and uncovers secrets that might cost her more than she bargained for.
With its shocking twists and an unpredictable ending, The Bachelorette Party is a gripping thriller that will keep readers hooked until the very last page. Block has crafted a tightly wound mystery with a perfect balance of suspense and psychological depth, making it a must-read for fans of dark crime thrillers.

My rating might be low because I just came off the heels of reading a fantastic thriller and this one was only so-so. This was definitely a popcorn thriller type of book. I usually love these types of books, but since I was coming off another great book, this one just didn’t hit a homerun for me. I will give the author another chance and read some of their other books as well.

A popcorn thriller that did offer many chances to figure out “whodunit”. Alex, embarking on marriage by celebrating with friends for a bachelorette party weekend is greeted with reliving the crimes of her favorite serial unaliver. Truths and myths blend together as she tries to figure out what is real and fake. An easy listen that kept me entertained (the female narrator was a great fit) but not my favorite thriller-the plot got somewhat convoluted and some twists I was able to predict. Thanks to the author, NetGalley and High Bridge Audio for the opportunity to listen-thoughts are honest and voluntary.

Worst bachelorette party ever! This was a super quick and twist read! This was my 1st book by Sandra Block but it will not be my last!

Unfortunately this fell a bit flat for me. I think I found the main characters a bit un-relatable and frustrating.

WHAT was this book? There were so many layers, flashbacks, narratives going on. It was really interesting, at times confusing to hold on to the main narrative. There were a ton of surprises that left me wondering what was going on. I was definitely captivated until the end, I'm not quite sure I was fully satisfied with how everything was supposed to be resolved. It was really interesting.
I can't quite see myself recommending this to people, but I didn't not like it. I can see this being a good book club read because it could be divisive.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book. It had potential to be really good. However the writing seemed to shove everything together and it felt like the author tried to hard to include more than was needed. I think the end helped the story. Perhaps if it was a bit paired down getting there maybe it would have been better. As it is now was a disappointment.

Sandra Block's The Bachelorette Party is a gripping psychological thriller that plunges readers into a chilling blend of true crime obsession and real-life horror. The story follows Alex, a true crime enthusiast and intern on an investigative news program, whose friends surprise her with a bachelorette weekend at a supposedly haunted lodge—the site of the infamous 666 Killer's crimes. When Alex awakens to find her friends missing and blood on her hands, the line between her research and reality blurs in terrifying ways. Block masterfully crafts suspense and unexpected twists, making this novel a must-read for fans of dark, fast-paced thrillers.

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
Quick read with good pacing and decent twists. Sometimes the shifting timelines threw me off, and I didn't connect with the characters that much but it was a decent read overall. The narrator did fine.

Fast paced and fun! A good, creepy read that keeps you guessing along the way. Really enjoyed this one.

Big thanks to NetGalley for access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really wanted to like this book however I just couldn't give it more than 2 stars.
The author writes very inconsistently. She can be very descriptive and paints a beautiful picture for the reader at one moment however, in the next paragraph it seems very immature and unexperienced. It would have made more sense if this was a debut novel but unfortunately that is not the case.
The main character is supposed to be an investigative reporter however she doesn't seem to apply this to her everyday life. She misses details that are blatantly obvious and has absolutely no critical thinking skills. The inner dialog of every thought that goes through her head is repetitive and unnecessary. This is supposed to be a woman that is about to get married, that has a fiance with a pre-teen child. She is supposed to have an adult friend group but these characters so not read that way. They are very immature and it is absolutely unbelievable that these are adult characters. The dialog was awful as well. The text/Twitter conversations were painful and I skipped them the majority of the time.
The premise of this book had a lot of promise but I really didn't like the execution or the ending.

I didn’t like this book it was immature and I couldn’t get over the unrealistic way this author wanted this to happen sorry I just pass

Alex, a true crime devotee obsessed with the infamous 666 serial killer, is getting married and her two best friends decide it will be fun to have her bachelorette party at the supposedly haunted hunting lodge in the Catskill mountains where one of the 666 killings took place. They get snowed in by a blizzard and Alex wakes up to her friends missing and blood all over the cabin. The book jumps back and forth in time between flashbacks to Alex investigating the 666 killer case then forward to her using this information and her instincts to attempt to solve the case, survive, and find her friends (if they’re still alive).
This book was definitely not for me. I liked the concept and was really into the story at first but after finishing it, I felt it could have been executed better. The twists throughout were so unrealistic that it was difficult to suspend belief and remain engaged. None of the characters were very likeable so it was difficult to root for anyone. There also were so many additional characters and storylines that never really contributed much to the story or amounted to anything. The book was too long so I think a lot of these extra storylines to provide distraction and confusion could have been cut down and streamlined. To top it all off, the major twist with her friends was really just the absolute WORST. What kind of friends do those things, especially at a bachelorette party? Everything was planned… seriously? I didn’t see it coming because it was so unrealistic and made no sense to me. It felt like a cop out to explain everything away. I will say that the narrator for the audiobook was great and kept me engaged throughout, I just wish the story had a better ending and explanation. Thank you to NetGalley, Sandra Block, Scarlet Suspense/Penzler Publishers, and Highbridge Audio for the gifted ARC audiobook recording in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a bit boring. I wish it wasn't so predictable. Plus, the narrator was a snoozefest. If you are a thriller reader, this book is probably not for you as it is not entertaining.

Alex is about to get married and has been obsessed with the 666 Killer who had murdered a woman in a remote cabin and wrote 666 on the walls with her blood. Her friends decide to rent this cabin for her bachelorette party. They get snowed in and crazy things happen. The truth will floor you!

I love true crime. Would I be able to use all that knowledge to solve a case? Probably not. Hopefully Alex is a better detective than I am. Such a fun ride with lots of twists.

I loved the true crime aspect that the main character was into. I just did not connect to the characters. This was just not the book for me.
