While it was worth the listen I had felt like the story was a bit all over the place. Jumping from the bachelorette and the job as a true crime journalist. I understand what the connection was but wish the execution had been a bit smoother. The narrators reaction at the end was just like what!?

The audiobook combines thriller elements with a dual timeline and short chapters, creating a fast-paced and engaging experience. This structure helps keep the listener’s interest throughout.

Despite these strengths, I found it difficult to connect with the story on a deeper level. While the pacing and suspense were present, the book lacked the emotional depth or compelling hook that would have made it more impactful for me.

It wasn’t a bad listen, but it didn’t quite resonate as strongly as I hoped. If you enjoy quick, suspenseful reads, it might still be worth a try, but it didn’t hit the mark for me.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. A woman obsessed with a serial killer who works as a journalist obsessed with finding the true answer of what happened that night. Best friends who surprise her for her bachelorette by taking her to one of the murder houses for her special day. What could go wrong? There are unsuspecting occurrences with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A GENEROUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️ on this one but honestly it’s prob more of a 2.75. This had all of the makings of a solid thriller but then the 👠👠 heels came off 😂🤣😂.

There were so many good aspects to this one but it had entirely too much going on. It felt a bit discombobulated most of the book.

The fiancé stuff, 666 Killings, hunting lodge and bachelorette party was just doing too much. I know it was all supposed to be a means to an end but it just felt like entirely separate stories and too many good ideas coming at me at once and just not working for me.

I will say the last like 25% made it worthwhile because I was like omg geez I don’t trust anyone or anything.

I don’t want to say too much and spoil anything but we would really need to have a chat following this weekend in the hunting cabin. Like things in my orbit would be switching up pretty significantly. A whole new world.

The audio narration was on point though.

TWISTY, fast-paced and exciting read! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was awesome! She really conveyed how I imagined Alex. I loved all of the tidbit surprises and the TRIPLE TWIST ending was surreal! Highly recommend to anyone that loved ‘Listen To The Lie’ and fans of Lucy Foley!

Thank you to Netgalley and RBMedia for the audiobook.

As some have said before, this was a 3 star read throughout. People were pissing me off right and left, but I was willing to look past it because at least it was an accurate depiction of True Crime fans just being Like That.

Wisdom is chasing Alex, but she is faster.

My Spidey senses felt that ending "twist" at the beginning of the book and I had desperately hoped I was just being silly and pessimistic.
Unfortunately not.
Some people enjoy endings like the one in this story, however I am absolutely not one of them.

I really wish I had enjoyed this book, but suffice to say this story and I were incompatible.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC in audiobook format.

This is an outstanding listen, buy this book in audio or written form, you won't be disappointed, it is stellar, and you will not believe the twists in this story!

The Bachelorette Party by Sandra Block, narrated by Lexi Mae, is a thrilling and chilling audiobook that takes listeners on a suspenseful journey through a bachelorette weekend gone horribly wrong. The story centers around Alex, a true crime enthusiast who is about to marry the man of her dreams.

Block’s narrative is a masterclass in building tension and suspense. The plot kicks off with an eerie atmosphere as the friends arrive at the lodge, only to be snowed in by a blizzard. The setting is perfect for a psychological thriller, with the isolation and the lodge’s dark history adding layers of fear and uncertainty.

Lexi Mae’s narration is exceptional, bringing the characters and the chilling events to life with her versatile voice. Her ability to convey the mounting dread and Alex’s growing paranoia keeps listeners on the edge of their seats.

The plot is filled with twists and turns, as Alex tries to piece together what happened to her friends while grappling with her own fears and doubts.

For fans of psychological thrillers and true crime, The Bachelorette Party is a must-listen. Sandra Block has crafted a gripping and terrifying story that is perfectly complemented by Lexi Mae’s compelling narration.

This book was a twisted one for sure as we get to see one of the craziest Bachelorette parties that you will ever read. Alex is researching a murderer and actually is interviewing him because he claims to be innocent even though he confessed previously. Then we flash forward to her party which has gone terribly wrong because she just woke up in the shower, there is blood all over, and her friends are gone.

This was my first read for as an ambassador for the 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝑭𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆 and it was a fun, twisty one!

We have Alex who is doing investigative research at her job on the famous 666 killer. The tenth anniversary of the killings is coming up so Alex gets to look into the case. In the meantime, she is newly engaged and her friends plan a Bachelorette Party where they take her to the famous hunting lodge where the 666 killer murdered someone. All seems well until after a night of drinking with her friends, she wakes up to blood everywhere and her friends gone. She’s worried her recent investigation may have stirred up the past and now they are all in danger.

This book has super short chapters that kept me engaged and needing to read more at the end of each one. The chapters feature chat rooms and research Alex does that makes the story interesting. It also goes back and forth in time from when Alex first researched to her present day Bachelorette Party.

This is definitely an interesting suspense thriller to pick up this fall! I wish there was some more detail at the end of the story though. It felt rushed after the mystery was unveiled!

Lexi Mae did a great job narrating Alex in this suspenseful thriller! She was easy to understand, and narrated her POV and other characters dialogue in the story well. The calmness in her voice as she tells this story is what I’d imagine her character to sound like.

DNF at 15%. I couldn’t stand the writing or a single character in this. It’s really choppy and all over the place, I just didn’t love this one unfortunately.

“The Bachelorette Party” is a fast-paced popcorn thriller that is perfect for true crime fans. With its dual timelines, short chapters, and mixed media format, this was a very entertaining and bingeworthy book. While some of the story was predictable, there were still a lot of unpredictable twists and turns. The ending was absolutely wild and completely unexpected.

I listened to the audiobook read by Lexi Mae. She had a nice voice and overall narrated the story well. However, I don’t think she was the right choice for this particular book, specifically because of some of the characters’ accents.

I felt the storyline had enough twists and mystery. The killer claims he isn't the 666 killer. Alex, an intern at an investigative news program, is to do a 10th anniversary of the killings of the 666 killer. She is hoping to find new evidence. She sets up interviews with the killer to get his take to see if he could be innocent and if he is, then who is the killer? While this is happening, she is planning her wedding to a super-rich Australian guy, Jay. Her friends know how weird Alex is about this 666 killer and decide to set up her bachelorette party at the cabin of 666's crime scene. but then things go wrong. I think the wedding party of the whole story was ok. The investigation work on Alex's end was interesting and you constantly changed your theory of who the killer could be. The twist was pretty good as well. I loved the cat's name Babushka.

As for the narrator, I was not too fond of the Australian accent. It wasn't my favorite and I felt the shouting scenes could have been done better. There were some recording issues; some sentences were quiet and then back to regular volume. It was distracting to the storyline, especially to suspenseful scenes. Overall, it was a decent thriller story and with a unique plot twist. Thank you Grand Central Publishing for allowing me to review this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This started out okay. Interesting plot and I liked the interviewing the killer aspect. I felt like I kept waiting for it to get going though and keep my attention.

The timelines were all over the place and it felt like nothing was cohesive in either timeline.

The FMC seemed silly and immature. Also why were those people her “friends”. She has low expectations for people and was annoying lol.

This would had been a 3 star but I had to knock off a star due to the ending. It’s was too much and not in a good way.

I overall wouldn’t recommend it.

4.75 stars rounded up.

I listened to the audio version of this book and enjoyed the narration very much. It worked well with the characters and plot.

I really thought this was great, interesting story that had one major twist I did not see coming AT ALL. Not in any way!

We meet Alex and she’s a young intern obsessed with serial killers and is engaged to a very wealthy Australian man. She has two best friends that plan a bachelorette party for her that plays into her love of all things murder. Not only that, but Alex has creepy things happening to her and an ex with issues.

Mix this all together and you’ve got a non-traditional thriller/mystery that doesn’t feel heavy or dark. (Until, of course, it does.) The only negative for me was her relationship with her finance that just didn’t feel anywhere near as authentic as the rest of the book.

Advance listener copy provided by Highbridge Audio and NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

More like 3.75.

A young lady is researching a convicted serial killer to see if she can find a new angle. She also planning a wedding. Her two besties have a bachelorette party for her.

Over all I enjoyed the book. There were several twists I didn’t see coming. The jumps between timelines got to be a bit much.

The narrator should not do Australian accents….at all. I enjoyed her voice except when she did male characters or ‘screamed’ something. One very side character was mentioned a few times as a possible red herring. I felt like mention of him wasn’t needed.

I tend to be picky with voices on audio books, but this one was good.
Nice rvne tone, kept my attention and didn't make weird noises or was too over the top.

The story, excellant as well, I look forward to more from this author, as this was my first read by them.

Love a little whodunnit horror

Thank you NetGalley for this opportunity!

I liked this book. It was giving everything it needed to. I will say that i guessed the real killer fairly quickly, but it didnt take away from the story for me.

The whole prank thing was so outrageous. I wouldve been far more angry with my friends if they did that. Im a huge true crime fan, but that wouldve been way too far. But it did lead her to the truth, so i guess that makes it better? Lol.

There wasnt much resolution in the stepson thing, and i wish we had gotten more from it. He was being a little psychopath too with his threats and behavior. Sweeping it away with therapy wasnt enough in my opinion.

All in all, it was well rounded and kept me interested even though i already saw where it was headed. I did still get a few twists and was entertained!

Alex's life is coming together. She's got a wealthy fiancée, a gig on a true crime news project, and a solid group of friends. Then, the winter before her wedding, her friends take her on a Bachelorette weekend to a cabin where the infamous 666 murderer killed one of his victims. Alex knows all about the case from her prison interviews with the alleged killer, so it's a cool pick.... until a snowstorm strands them. Things get worse when Alex wakes up to find her friends gone and pools of blood in their places.

I absolutely loved this one! I enjoy the girls trip trope to begin with and this book puts a completely new spin on it and absolutely knocks it out of the park. It has a good dual timeline set up, bouncing from past to present and providing a good contrast between normal life and a horror scene in snow covered mountains. The characters were believable as were their actions/reactions. The writing was good and the story moved quickly throughout.

The great narrator was the cherry on top. I never wanted to pause it and ended up killing the whole thing in two long dog walks. Absolutely loved it!

I struggled with this book. It failed to keep my attention, where I would have to go back and relisten to areas. Also confusing. 3 stars.
