I admit I was so excited when I saw this, and I had to request it. I love Heather McCollum's writing style and characters. This one was just as good, and I devoured it. The chemistry between Tessa and Eagan was so well done because it draws you in and keeps you reading. I absolutely loved this one, and I will be recommending it to others. I can't wait for more from this author!
Thank you Net Galley ARC
An awesome Highlander romance. Tessa and Eagan have undeniable chemistry that draws the reader in and doesn't let go. I definitely enjoyed this book.
Egan is the last of the Macquerie brothers who need to wed to break the curse of Wolff Isle, and every single one of his brothers and their spouses won't let him forget that fact for one minute. With them constantly telling him who he should wed, all he wants to do is escape the Isle. Well, fate has other plans when it places Tess in his path. Hidden from the MacQueries for the past year, and studying to take over Griselda's orphanage and healing she is instantly intriguing to Egan, and he may have to hang around to get to know her a bit better.
A lot happens in this as it's the conclusion to this series. We get a showdown between the clan and you know who (if you've been following the series) Tessa and Egan's relationship did happen very quickly after their first meeting, and while I prefer more of a slow burn, or at least more of a slow burn than an instant I did enjoy these two together.
This is a fast-paced book with quite a bit of action and a great romance. I thought this was a pretty great conclusion to the series and can't wait to see what Heather McCollum will write next.
The Macquarie clan has been cursed for generations. Egan can finally break the curse if he finds love and marriage.
By a chance meeting on Samhain,Egan meets Tessa Ainsworth who has been living on Wolf Isle for the past year. Could she be the one who helps the clan break the curse.
I enjoyed the story about this family and revisiting being with them. The love that was displayed in this story is what I enjoyed the most along with the family unity.
The last brother falls. Eagan and Tessa are delish. He yearns to explore beyond Wolf Isle, she wants to return home. But home is where the heart is as these two find out. Sexy, adventurous and captivating, book 5 was a great grand finale to the series.

It’s good to see the series conclusion. The characters depicted some interesting moments. The Jandeau arc had a twist.. An overall good series to read.
So I haven't read the rest of the books in this series, but because each book follows a different couple, it stands well enough on it's own.
I do think that reading the other books might enhance the story a little, as I found the book to be just OK. It felt like a complete story, and the characters were nice enough, I just wasn't enthralled. (Could have been just me.l
I had stumbled upon The Highlander's Secret Avenger, where I had learned about the Macquarie curse, which is haunting the Macquarie brothers on the wolf Isle. So the Highlander's Untamed Tempest was a bit easier to understand. Although I missed the whole story on the pirate Yandeau, so at first I didn't understand the reference to Claudette. But even if you haven't read the other parts, you are able to pick up the story pretty fast As is common in the historical romances, Tessa is seen as a witch, since she knows her way with herbs. It still boggles my mind that women were hunted for these so-called crimes! But in this case, it results in a wonderful story with one of the hunky macquarie brothers, so no complaints from me! Absolutely loved it. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
What a great ending to the Brothers of Wolf Isle series. I absolutely loved Tessa and Eagan's story. There is angst, family secrets, love, mystery and action all wrapped into one delicious story. Tessa is a strong willed lass who is now an orphan but longs for her father. Eagan wants to leave Wolf Isle to find his place in the world. The chemistry and bond between them is instant yet bitter sweet as they both know they're not meant to stay. I loved how they both learned to trust and love and to give 100% of themselves to the other. Heather McCollum is an amazingly talented writer. I just love her books!
Eagan is determined o leave this spot of land and get away from his wacky family. He is packed and ready to go until he meets Tessa. She is someone that actually makes him feel what he was determined to never feel in his life. He is falling for this very strong willed woman who keeps saying her father is going to come and take her back to France. While she waits she starts to fall for Eagan and his large family. Tessa only wants a family and she is fast finding out that she now has one if she will only take a huge step to a great future. When Eagan discovers who her father is will their future crumble before it even starts? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Sigh. The last Brothers of Wolf Isle book is upon us. Unlike many of his brothers, Eagan doesn't want a great love or a wife until he meets Claudette--then it's instalove/lust. This is one of the better books in the series and a great conclusion. Loose ends are tied up, and we get to revisit many of the couples we love. Although the books can be read standalone, you will enjoy the series more if you read the books in order. Heather McCollum is my favorite Scottish romance author, and I can't wait to see what's next!
Eagan Macquarie, a sceptical man who has never believed in love, finds himself weary of his siblings' interference in his non-existent love life. Despite a hex placed on the Macquarie clan, which can only be broken if all five Macquarie brothers marry for love, Eagan is determined to leave Wolf Isle. However, a serendipitous encounter with a stranger may just challenge his long-held beliefs about love.
Claudette Tempest Ainsworth, also known as Tessa, is a skilled midwife who has eagerly awaited her father's return to take her back to France. Their paths intertwine when Eagan is tasked with fetching her for her invaluable services. This unexpected meeting causes Eagan to reconsider his plans to leave the island.
I found it challenging to immerse myself in this book. The abundance of characters introduced at the beginning made it difficult to grasp, and the narrative's flow failed to captivate me.
Eagan Macquarie, the youngest of the Macquarie brothers, faces pressure to break his family’s curse by marrying for true love. Determined to escape, he meets Tessa, a French midwife stranded on Wolf Isle, and their chemistry is undeniable. Both desire to leave the isle but are drawn to each other despite the obstacles of pirates, witch hunters, and family secrets. The story perfectly combines romance, action, and strong character development. I loved the dynamic between Eagan and Tessa. This book was filled with passion, danger, and a captivating romance.
I normally enjoy Heather's books. However, this one had me struggling. I normally finish a book in a day, maybe two if I'm busy. It was so hard for me to finish this book and I almost DNF. I'm not sure if it was subject matter or the way it started, I just didn't want to read another book with this subject (no spoilers).
What an adventure!
Eagan is the last remaining single Macquarie son, so it's up to him to finally break the centuries-old curse on his family. But not if he can help it. Fighting all the pressure from his brothers and their wives to settle down and get married too, he's determined to leave Wolf Isle and set out on his own adventure, curse or no curse. Just as soon as he's done helping this new midwife deliver a baby in the village.
Tessa is new to this region, having been dropped off on Wolf Isle by her navy captain father after living with her now deceased mother in France, but she took to her mother's career like a duck to water and is now the best qualified person to help. If she can stay one step ahead of the witch hunters, that is.
This story has everything to make a reader swoon. Reluctant hero, fiercely independent heroine, an assortment of villains, and a surprise twist that hit me like a frying pan to the head! I honestly never saw it coming, but once I realized what was happening I was amazed at the author's brilliance in designing this plot twist.
The writing was completely captivating, holding me spellbound until the final HEA was secured. A beautiful epilogue wraps up the entire series and gives us all the backstory necessary to understand the origins of the curse. I can't recommend this book and the entire series highly enough. If you enjoy reading Highlander romances, you don't want to miss the Macquaries of Wolf Isle. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I am a huge fan of Heather McCollum! And once again she reminds us why in this story about the Macquarie Clan. In this final book of the series the clan depends on Eagan to break the curse. Claudetter (Tessa) is a French midwife who has been waiting for her father to return to get her. They both want off the island for different reasons and that is what sparks their mutual attraction. What they didn’t expect was the feeling and the passion between them. Their mutual respect for each other added to the connection. The book is packed with non-stop action and adventure including a witch hunt, a father who isn’t what they thought he was and loyalty tested at every angle. The romance and passion are perfect.
You're going to love this adventure. McCollum always creates amazing characters and a detailed story that makes us feel like we are really a part of the story. I can’t even say enough about this book. You have to have this adventure yourself! Trust me!
1000 stars
The Brothers of Wolf Isle series comes to a close with the story of the youngest, Eagan Macquarie who has the choice of either breaking the long standing curse against the family or bringing it to a happier conclusion. This is a romance, so you know how it's going to go, but the fun is in the story and the characters, especially with this installment of the series.
Eagan is ready to leave his family when he meets Tessa, a young woman who some suspect as being a witch. I don't want to give any more details, but the beginning of this story just pulled me in. I've read a few in this series, and they work very well standalone, while also whetting the appetite for others in the series.
There's plenty of steamy scenes here. I liked that Tessa knew what she was doing in this area, and while they fall pretty hard pretty fast, I thought she was perfect for Eagan, especially since he had his life planned out until he meets Tessa and all those long term plans come into question.
What I love about this series including this book, and this author is that these stories are a perfect escape into another time, they are fun and sweet, with just the right touch of danger and darkness to make it interesting.
When I requested this book, I saw it could be read as a standalone. Honesty this should for sure be read as a book in the series. I was pretty confused as to what was going on without the background information.
Sadly this one wasn’t a book for me because I wanted to love it.
This last story in the series was an excellent read. Even though all of the books are standalone it’s best, I think to read them in order and I think you will have a better understanding of this book that ties everything up. This was an excellent series and I would like to read more of Ms.McCollum stories.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This is the last book in the series about the curse of Wolf Isle. It is a love story between Tessa, a French midwife stowed away on Wolf Isle by her father and waiting for his return, and Eagan, the youngest highlander brother of the Macquarie Clan who has plans to leave the isle, venture out on his own, and go exploring.
The Macquaries have a centuries old curse placed on them stemming from a relative getting a village girl pregnant, abandoning her, and marrying someone else. The only way to break the curse is to have all the men find true love, marry, and not produce a child out of wedlock.
Tessa and Eagan both want off the Isle, but for different reasons. In the meantime, they have decided they will explore their mutal attractions and become lovers. There is plenty of action when Witch hunters, Pirates, and meddling family pose as obstacles throughout the story. This is an easy historical fantasy romance read and brings closure to the series.
