Back again in Puffin Island, this time we’re hearing the story of Dilly and Max. When Dilly meets up with her old Art teacher Max they share a mutual connection.
The lighthouse where Dilly’s mother was born and her grandfather died comes up for sale and as an artist Dilly very much wants to buy it and open it as a gallery.
It a book full of love and friendship. I loved being back there it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit.
Can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

The Lighthouse Daughters of Puffin Island by Christie Barlow is the perfect cozy read for anyone looking to escape to a charming, windswept island filled with romance, family drama, and a dash of mystery. I found myself completely immersed in the story, which follows Dilly's quest to buy the lighthouse and her evolving relationship with her former art teacher, Max Harrington.

What really stood out to me was the sense of community on Puffin Island. The interactions between Dilly, her best friends, her father, and the delightful Betty added so much warmth to the story. Max, with his kindness and compassion, is an especially relatable character, and the way he and Dilly work through their pasts together makes for a beautiful and heartfelt romance, free of unnecessary drama.

While there are a few familiar plot elements, the charm of the setting and the emotional depth of the characters kept me hooked. The book balances a gentle romance with themes of personal growth and healing, and while the ending may be predictable, it’s exactly what you want when you're in the mood for an uplifting, feel-good story.

Though it's the second in the series, The Lighthouse Daughters works as a standalone, and I really appreciated being able to jump into this book without needing to know the full backstory from the first. That being said, it has definitely left me wanting to read more, and I’m excited for the next story!

If you love small-town (or small-island) settings with heartwarming characters and a bit of mystery, this one is a must-read!

Delilah-Dilly- has retreated to Puffin Island after a romance scam. She's determined to buy the lighthouse where her mother was born. Seems easy enough but it's not especially once Max, once her tutor, turns up, I missed the first book but that wasn't a problem (although I would have liked to know more about the characters who were introduced in that one). This doesn't have many surprises but it's got nice atmospherics and the characters are relatable. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Loved this sweet story. All the characters were so lovely. Quite dramatic at times which added to the enjoyment. Set in a lonely lighthouse with plenty of atmosphere. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This was ok but very predictable in every way. Which makes for a slightly disappointing read. I loved the Love Heart Lane series but I think this one might be too twee for me. The timing made kind of odd sense too if we say Betty and Selby were in their 20s in 1950 then the ages just felt a bit off over time but I’m not sure since it was never mentioned how old Dilly and her friends are. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad read but I don’t think I will seek out more of this series.

I loved the premise of this book and the synopsis showed so much promise but I really struggled with the writing style.

This was a delight to read, a feel good story on a beautiful island. It’s starts off with tragedy, Dilly.s mother and grandmother died as a result of the sea, but when the lighthouse on Puffin Island is up for auction she knows she has to buy it. Her mother had been born there and she knew it had to be hers. Her old lecturer Max turns up on the island too so it might be a happily ever after. Dilly is a lovely easygoing character that I throughly enjoyed reading about, she knows what she wants and will do everything to get it. The location for this series is amazing, Christie manages to draw you in from page one. Plus it has a map, love books with them. Highly recommend this easy read. 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

I do love a Christie Barlow book and this return to Puffin Island with appearances from some familiar characters from the first book did not disappoint. A historic lighthouse, a sweet romance, close friendships, a happy surprise, and secrets bubbling up from the past. What's not to love?

What a nice story! I didn’t realize it was part of a series, this book seems to stand alone. It’s an easy to read book that moves fairly quickly. It deals with some life issues and has a nice romance too. There were some surprises along the way too.

Two books in and I am well and truly addicted. There is just something so wholesome about tucking into a Christie Barlow novel, and in this second visit to Puffin Island, I found myself completely engaged by Dilly's story and so very happy to be back in this wonderfully supportive and positive community. That's not to say that the book isn't teaming with emotion too - it wouldn't be a Christie Barlow book without those moments that tug at the heartstrings after all. And this book is no exception, with a poignant and tragic moment occurring just moments into the story. But it is that early scene that sets us up for what is to come, and for establishing just why the Puffin Island lighthouse is so dear to Dilly's heart. I was completely and truly hooked, and just ate up what followed.

This is Delilah's, or rather Dilly's, story. The Island's resident artist, Dilly has very strong family ties to the lighthouse - her mother was born there. She has a desire to buy the landmark and create a studio space for artists, as well as making it her own home. But it's fair to say that the idea of owning the lighthouse is not the only thing setting Dilly's mind a whirl. A face from her past arrives on the island and is set to stir things up well and truly in Dilly's private life. Dilly is a wonderful person to spend time with, and a perfect centre for this book's story. She is open, engaging and the kind of character it is impossible not to like. And the chemistry between her and her former tutor, Max, is abundantly clear and just pulls you right into the story. It's not plain sailing, and some things from their past, Max's especially, serve to add that edge of conflict that you expect, if only to make it's resolution all the more satisfying.

And that is just what you'd expect from this series. An emotional journey, both romantically and nostalgically, teaming characters who hold a real appeal, and a community that the author manages to make readers feel a part of. There is something magical about the way in which Christie Barlow paints the island life, and in just a short time she has already established a cast of characters I feel completely at home with and invested in the lives of. From Dilly and Max, through to island stalwart, Betty, who has been quite central to all of the series stories so far, I am getting that really warm and welcoming vibe that made the author's Love Heart Lane series so totally addictive. And I love the setting. Based on a part of the country which holds a place in my heart, and lord knows I love a puffin, Christie Barlow has once again created a place where I just want to visit. Idyllic, tranquil and with a true community spirit, how could you not?

Pure heartwarming escapism. A story that is full of emotion, laughter, and brilliant characters. I can't wait to pay a return visit to Puffin Island to see what this wonderful bunch get up to next. Definitely recommended.

This novel is part of a new series by Christie Barlow, but it can easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone story. Set in a charming fictional village, the lighthouse plays a key role, adding to the book’s atmospheric appeal. The vivid descriptions of the coastal setting and the sea create an immersive reading experience that makes you wish you were there. With its heartwarming romance and engaging storytelling, this is a truly enjoyable read that I would highly recommend.

I read this in one sitting - and am already looking forward to the next instalment of this series. I can see myself sitting at the top of the lighthouse watching the flags from the other side, the writing is so good you can smell the sea air.

I really wanted to like this one. I read the first book in the series, and enjoyed it, but this one...not so much.
I found the the main character confusing and frustrating, and she made choices I could not understand or support. The character would be going on about how she was definitely not going to do a thing, then within a page-she was doing the thing.
She was not particularly emotionally honest with herself or others. I really questioned some of her choices. I just could not relate to or like her. Yet-everybody surrounding her in the story was acting like she was the best (and most adorable) person on the Island.
The love interest was unconvincing, He engaged in borderline stalker behavior (instead of just calling/texting like a normal person who wants to get back in touch). After that he was a bit too good to be true, I felt that very little about the romance rang true.
The mystery at the heart of the story turned out to be a misdirection and exposed some really questionable behavior on the part of one of the other resident's of the Island. Seriously, starting to believe that Puffin Island is not a nice place at all.
Everything was neatly wrapped up in the end despite all the deceit, which also did not ring true for me.
Despite liking other work by this author, this entry is not one I can recommend.

This is the second instalment of the puffin island series. I strongly recommend you reading these books in order for the full experience.

From the first page this was an engaging read and with the way this author writes making the pages coming alive I felt like I had actually stepped inside the lighthouse and onto the beautifully described puffin island.

This instalment introduced us to the characters of Dilly and Max alongside those we had met in the previous instalment of this series like the lovely Betty.

This story takes you on an emotional yet heartwarming journey that interweaves lots of interconnecting stories and threads together to make this wonderful engaging read.

I am already looking forward to the next instalment of this series.

Thank you to Netgalley, publisher and the author for providing a free copy jn exchange for an honest review #thelighthousedaughtersofpuffinisland
Dilly Waters is the third generation to live on Puffin Island with her dad Ralph close by. She loves the scenery, the people and the freedom all of which often give her inspiration for her art! Then her old art teacher turns up on the island …. The one all the girls swooned over …. The one Dilly fancied! Will her heart remain whole and on the island ?

After reading book 2 in the series "Foxglove Farm." I have been following the author who has become one of my favourites. So far I have read all the books after and including book 2 in the love heart lane series and all in the puffin island series.

This is book 2 however you would not know this when reading it and this book makes a great stand alone. Something I think this author has got down to a fine art. Although I can guarantee you'll get so much out of the characters if you read it as a series.

This book is a great romance read. Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as death, romance scammers, miscarriage and feuds amongst other things. I do not feel this takes away from the romantic feel of the book but has you heart growing fonder of the struggles each character faces. This book really shows how inclusive 21st century living can be providing really subtle life lessons alongside the romance fiction and escapism this book provides..

This book also has twists and turns that really throw you off the scent. You have an idea on where this is going in your head a.

I Cannot wait to read the next book as always.

So when an opportunity to buy the lighthouse comes about, Dilly wonders if fate is on her side. There are a few twists, turns and surprises woven into the story, which will keep you turning the pages to find out more.
